Dude, this was maybe the best guide I ever saw (not just for raids, but in general). Straight to the point, no bullshit intro or in between, very nice presentation and even some entertainment value. Thanks!
Bro I just woke up and am currently rewatching all your older videos because they are awesome. So you can imagine my excitement when I just got the notification of a new upload.
Back in the day our shaman used to water walk a random person during Lurker fight right before he does the beam blast. It was always hilarious because you'd hear someone in vent go "WTF, I jumped in the water and still died!!" 🤣
I love that instead of a generic DPS marker for the ranged you just make it a bow and arrow. Cause let's be honest, they're mostly gonna be hunters anyways
Hey man. thanks for all those uploads. brings back so many cool memories i seemed to have forgotten. i havent looked at wow for a very, very long time. i started at release and quit after tbc, and i was so privileged to have cleared the entire content. I wasnt raiding in a tier1 guild back then, but rather tier 2 (around world top 100). Our vashj kill was with mind control and she was such a annoying bitch back then. For real. Even one of our raid leaders rage quit because Vashj (and Kael'thas) got the best of us many times over. i quit after clearing SWP (my raid also quickly degraded, maybe to top 300 or so, but we still finished SWP somehow) and finally focussed on university. But WoW was such a good run between wiping at the two giants at the entrance of Molten Core and the incredibly tough, but well balanced bosses of sunwell plateau. Never before or after that time i was addicted to a game like that. Sorry for the bragging, keep up with the high quality content. i do have some videos on my hard drive from that time (incl. Vaelastrazs, Brutallus, and almost the entire black temple). maybe i upload them one day.
Something about the mind controll, during Blizzconline they mentioned that while the mind controll will still be in, it wont affect healer (or maybe tanks I dont completely remember) for the sake of keeping the raids a bit harder whilte not making RNG be the reason for a wipe
The sporebats in Lady Vashj phase 3 spit the poison on the ground as the fly around, not when they die. You really CAN'T keep up with killing them as they often aren't even in range to be attacked. So it functions as an enrage timer of sorts. Kill her before you're overwhelmed.
Not sure if this will be in game once p2 is released but the Tainted Core ***used to*** only be lootable by 1 individual player like other trash loot. Setting loot to "Free for all" will allow anyone to loot it and pass it. Obviously remember to set loot back to your preferred method once phase 3 of Vashj begins!
I guess this question can be answered by experience from the PTR. Anyone want to weigh in? You can't change loot rules in combat though so this is a potentially risky strategy since you can't put ML back on.
I looked through the comments on wowhead for this item and a comment from 2007 (2.3.0) says you have to enabled FFA to ensure everyone can loot the core. But I will resarch this topic and come back with (hopefully) more information.
According to someone I played with on the ptr and who has killed Lady Vashj the FFA thing is still necessary. Hope Blizz will change this sometime soon
From PTR, Lurker doesn't seem to be optional, you need to kill him in order to be able to open the bridge to Lady Vashj. Also to add on Lurker, Main Tank needs to be standing before the biggest Pillar. When Boss begins Sprout, he launches the tank into distance, if he doesn't quickly hide in the water the Pillar will catch him and Tank can go back on the platform.
We wiped so many times at Vashj back in the day....but learning is good. And, yeah, back in 2007/8 YT was just a younglin'. My first vid was a WoW based one, and that's 2007
I've seen some videos where certain spells/debuffs (e.g., acid geyser) trigger a /say message of the form "acid geyser on me". Is that DBM? I can't find a way to turn it on if it is
man. I remember failing on leotheras because noone got how he actually worked. this was before everonye got all of his info from the web, we had to figure it out ourselves. It turned out to be a dps check for us; in his last phase he would just berserk and kill everyone in a few seconds. it was so frustrating. we spent hours without pause on him. I was a pure pvp player and just wanted the AD trinket from him, wasn't interested in anything else from this raid. I will never forget how fucking intense it got during some of these tries; we were just not fittingly geared for this fight but kept trying anyways, over and over again. that memory is burned into my mind forever.
I remember doing pug runs later in TBC when I was bored, just to laugh at the raid leader flipping out because people kept screwing up passing the cores. Good times
At least your pugs got to Vashj. Pug'd on my hunter alt and we got to Lurker and wiped. I was in the top Alliance guild clearing BT at the time, but ofc can't do it on alts ever. LOL
7:58 Oh my god... I almost fell off my chair laughing!! Looked and sounded like he was pushing out the most epic explosive diarrhea ever!!! Anyways, gl all and have fun! :-D
0:55 It's called 'Nature Resistance', not 'Poison Resistance'. Imagining all the new players ramming their heads into a wall trying to get poison resist gear.
First they were evil, exploiting the environment for their own end (that's all, not much lore),later it was randomly retconned so they fight againts the legion in secret just forgot to tell to the adventurers so they got shot through the heart
