IMPORTANT UPDATE So Al'ar was actually changed on the PTR right after uploading this. There are 6 platforms she can land on in phase 1 and it's random which ones she goes to. Also in phase 2 you need to STACK for divebomb and then the whole raid quickly moves out of the way to avoid the aoe. Sorry for the confusion!!!!
Don't kill the adds, it's a massive bait they have too much health and the explosion does 8k damage, will likely kill your tank. A paladin can easily tank all of them for the whole fight.
was about ot mention ^^ id also say the double tank in full arcane res strat on the...third boss (not syaign the name) is the more common and 'cleaner' strat used on ptr andddd also the full stack on reaver with only 2 - 3 ranged dps to take care of the spark things. Typically hunters but in reality any ranged can sit at ranged and move when they need too
As much as I appreciate the accelerated pace in order to make them viable guides, I kind of miss the memes that went into AQ40 and Naxx's Dungeon dive video. Still a fantastic video though.
I mean, he should only quit if he doesn't have fun. People still use and defend stuff like IPhones even though it's made with literal slave labor (yes, not low paid, actual slaves forced to do it against their will). I'm with Asmon on this one, if the next WoW expac looks fire, people will forget everything. Gamer boycotts never work. This is coming from a guy who does not even play the game.
Such fun guides i hope you do them for all the raids and dungeon.. i love hearing the mechanics you never got experienced with a modern high lvl toon in wow.. plus good if your playing classic
@@NostraDavid2 The original voice actor for Kael'thas, Quinton Flynn, has some grooming/general sexual assault allegations going on currently so they stripped his voice lines from the game and replaced them with new ones. It's ironic considering the current Acti-blizz dilemma but that's the way it is lol
If you weren’t aware, alar was post nerf when guzu first cleared TK, if you do Al’ar right now she is not scripted anymore, they changed her without telling anyone, I can show you footage and logs that prove she has 6 platforms and meteor does 150k damage if not soaked between players, she can go from the platform she lands to different platforms if she chooses to do so. just wanted to let you know.
The fight of Al'ar in PTR is not quite like this. The adds may not spawn in phase 1, the boss switches between 6 platforms instead of 4 and not in particular order, the dive bomb instant kills one player and therefore requires stack up and splitting the damage etc.
Well, the meteor doesn’t technically require stacking up, you can just sacrifice the couple unlucky ppl like Nihilum did back in 2007 on their world first :D
@@arrowettewang8449 It's a lottery in the end, it can murder all your most important people without your raid having enough soulstones / combat resses. I would say that was the reason why most guilds chose to stack and just eat the aoe dmg and bandage it afterwards. Especially back in the days when the avg guild's raid dps wasn't that high to sufficiently reduce the number of meteors per encounter. Nowadays ofc the bar for avg guilds is way way higher, so ending up sacrificing like 3 or 4 ppl at most doesn't sound so bad.
hey platinum wow, there is one more thing on kael'thas in phase 3 and 4 that is not working as intended on ptr. when adds spawn in phase 3, they have a threat whipe that is supposed to take all threat away, but it is now limited to 30-40 or so yards. that means anyone outside of that range will have their threat from phase 1 still on the table and will get instant aggro, making the adds run across the room and destroy them before any tank can build up enough threat. usually, we see warlocks outside of this range with 50k threat on the table at spawn, not particularly ideal. everyone needs to be within 30 yards of all the adds when phase 3 starts. ofc, this does not apply to thaladrad the darkener, as his threat table is not used at all - he just gazes random targets so killing him in the back of the room is perfectly fine. this also happens for phase 4 when kael'thas spawns. anyone outside of range will have a bunch of threat when he spawns. if you look at TSW stream, when they hit phase 4, a random druid on the other end of the room had 18k threat on kael'thas because he was outside of the threat reset range. also, in phase 4, kael'thas randomly drops threat on main tank when mind control goes out. it doesn't happen every time, but when it does it reduces tanks threat to 0, and ppl must let the other tanks be 2nd or 3d. you can see that in guzu kill where main tank is not MC'ed but still disappears from threat table and kael'thas goes off and kills a shadow priest and a warlock before going on next tank. shadow priests and warlocks can switch to phoenix targets when their threat goes too high to let it fall back a bit.
Would be nice to call out that alar is immune to fire and reaver immune to arcane for your mage/weird warlock fans out there. Other than that great vid, big fan.
Solarians "Wrath of the Astromancer" shouldn't be able to spread to multiple people, only the closest target. From all my private server experience it has only ever a single-target thing, even on PTR as well. I'd suggest just making 2 camps, one of them being the "safe" group you'd go to after Wrath has bounced and you've got the +dmg debuff

Oh man I miss these days. Our guild had macros set up for when one of got mind-controlled during the trash where we would NUKE them! We had so many laughs when one time we killed one of our team members and got an honorable kill for it. 🤣

I just wanted to point out in a lot of your videos you use "Casted" - "Casted" is not a word. The correct usage is "Cast" regardless if it is being used once or multiple times.
Very strange KT positions. Can be super hectic doing it that way and not a lot of room for error. Having capernian at the back of the room is ideal so no one can even think about messing up and getting too close from a conflag. This also allows Sanguinar to be tanked at the door where the tank can always los the fear (melee can too). If you keep the bosses clumped like this there's a lot of room for error. Also kiting Thaladred is very clanky and you lose DPS this way.
or abuse hunter pets and shadowfiends when landing (that they attack the boss and prevent the cast of flame buffet for a few seconds while the tank is running) -then you need 2 tanks - or maybe 3 with 2 platforms each

@@brandoncastellano1858 no it was just blizzard trying to disassociate with someone who came under fire for accusations that turned out to be false. The whole thing just seemed unnecessary. Kael'thas is my favorite character in WoW and I cringe whenever I hear his new VA
sooo... i find this weird.... i checked other guides aswell, and some guides say you should spread out on the meteor, and other say you need the whole raid to stack up on meteor to split the damage caused by it....any intell on that ?
didnt mention the Sentinel charges after overcharge aoe damage so a big double hit for melee, been dead every week to it if i dont run out for arcane aoe :/
Is Platinum WoW kind done with TBC? Like you sound litterly like I feel when playing TBC, unmotivated and soulless. Nothing against you man, I still think the video is well done and love your content in general, just feels like the TBC Dungeon Dives are forced Guide videos, while the classic guides feeled like fun and cool guides you would watch not for the informations but the entertainment.
good job on boss skills onece more BUT on Kael Thas i highly disagree killing Astromancer there? just md it to the back of the room to the warlock and no one can even get close bad tanking spot and not needed at all u can decide if u kill her last on p3 or if u kill her 2nd but that is like whatever since the warlock is in fire res gear anyway with assigned healer...
