Clear, cohesive presentation of a vitally important issue not many people have the courage or conviction to expose. You gave just enough explanation on each point. Looking forward to the other lectures. Thank you for all of your research.

Jon, Thank you for making this available to us. I know you’ve worked so very hard to examine all of this. One of the most imperative reads of my career/lifetime was The Gulag Archeplelglo. I pray we don’t have our grandchildren on day reading TGA 2.0 to be written in the vein of what “social justice” eventually results in. Your show is a staple in my daily regimen and I pray for your continued boldness, clarity, and endurance.

Really thorough breakdown of this stuff. I didn't know some of this stuff myself. It's good to break this stuff down, because, even if you can't remember or detail this stuff as Harris does, we need to be able to have some core understanding of the enemy we are dealing with. You can't fight an enemy you don't understand, because that enemy understands us well. Good stuff. Will definitely be going through all three parts.

Well I was going to share this video enthusiastically with all my Presbyterian, Calvinistic friends. 😳 Guess I won’t now, in light of Jon’s peculiar comments regarding the role Calvinism allegedly played in the early years of the development of social justice. Only issue I took with the presentation (thus far as I haven't finished), was the comment of old white men reconstructing their history, regarding the 1619 Project. Is that comment related to the New York Times? As far as I know the author of the project is Nikole Hannah Jones, who is a black woman. Anyone care to clarify?
@aaronwarner5492
@aaronwarner5492 3 года назад
NHJ was one of several contributors to the 1619 project. She was the most mentioned because of the award she won for her essay but also the criticism sh received from scholars for her inaccurate rendering of history. She and a few others were called out by academic historians for bad scholarship and revisions of history to fit their narrative.

It seems to me that the "I" is no longer existent; All that exists is the overarching "group". Thus, you as an individuum doesn't worth, your worth is only gained by the context. There is an interesting story Bertrand Russels tells: He met Lenin one time and Lenin braged about hanging up the landlords on the trees. (This recording can be found on youtube.) We can say that nothing in the landlord made him "deserve" death, but only his "belonging" to the (wrong) group. However, if nothing in the man changed and if he were a member of the proletariat and not a landlord then he would have been the hero of the revolution. We see here the fascist tendency: you as an individual count nothing. It is only the group-membership that defines you.

Historically the conflict has been GOD'S will against man's will. GOD'S efforts against man's efforts,GOD'S as CREATOR against man as creator , GOD as the source of salvation against man, his religious practices, his law, his keeping a universal law or natural law as a means, methods to accomplish salvation, YESHUA HAMASHIACH as our righteousness against man's self righteousness. THE HOLY SPIRIT Who comforts, convicts, counsels, intercedes for us, speaks of YESHUA HAMASHIACH and produces the life of YESHUA HAMASHIACH in us against human spirit, society, and culture creating a good person. It is all faith in what THE LORD did for us through YESHUA HAMASHIACH, HE made the ONE who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of GOD IN HIM. The HOLY SPIRIT brings it all to reality for us. Pelagianism, Antinomianism. So is GOD wisdom, truth and justice against man is wisdom, truth and justice because GOD is a nothing more than a figment of our imagination. GOD is our essence because HE created us. Is Man incomprehensible to Man? I would say yes. But is man incomprehensible to THE LORD? That is a foolish, absurd question. I own a Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, it has a Biographical section, with many of the names Jon Harris mentioned. Think,YESHUA HAMASHIACH was not conceived, or born in Europe. I noticed in my study of Social Science and Humanities, many Neurotic, Childish, Psychotic things originated from Europe, particularly Germany. Rejecting THE LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE 👑🤴 OF ALL CREATION, comes with a heavy cost. Jon Harris you did good, but remember HONOR THE HOLY SPIRIT, Jon Harris 🤓🤭😏😎. 🤲✝️🛐🙏 and fasting. How can you argue that redistribution is not a Christian concept? Have you heard Jesus' response to the rich young ruler? Have you heard that the first will be last and the last first? Did you notice how God demanded reparations from the Egyptians for God's people? What does God require of us BESIDES to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our Lord?
@AmateurZombie
@AmateurZombie 4 года назад
The rich young ruler’s wealth was keeping him from truly following Christ. Jesus told him to sell and give to the poor, not redistribute, so he could rely just in Jesus and not his wealth. For the Egyptians, God demanded that the Israelites be given all their possessions accumulated during the years of slavery. Not reparations for being enslaved.

@Believe the Gospel I don't want to jump to conclusions here, but are you basically saying that black people are godless thugs? You feel like a troll. I think I'd rather be talking to Puff Daddy and Tupac than you. Read again, "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a ringing brass gong or a clashing symbol." I would say that sums you up pretty well. Speak all you want of higher things, but until you can learn to see past your own nose, you won't be changing any hearts for God. Don't forget that when Jesus comes to separate the sheep from the goats, he will be looking for those who provide for others to bring into his Kingdom.

@@nathanielmichael1499 Hi Nathaniel, the church has 100% affirmed private ownership of property, and has 100% denounced government redistribution. If you are going to talk about Biblical redistribution, you need to be clear that you are not proposing what social justice marxists believe in: forced divestment. There are very good resources I çan give you if you want to learn more, but I think Bishop Robert Barron put it best: the Bible gives moral guidance on your use of what you own. But it affirms individual ownership.

I think the founders were like me Dead in our spirit , Dead in our Depravity , EPHESIANS 2:5-9 COLOSSIANS 2:13-17. I am a American of COLOUR. 🎯, about the sinisterness of people who have selfish ambitions, pretentious aspirations, and self centered avarice hunger and thirst for control. The 🎭has been removed folks. But we are still more concerned about preserving The West, concentrating on the constitution, talking about religion, The Church is under fire, being undermined, the Gospel is being subverted. It is one faction taking themselves to seriously,against another faction taking themselves to seriously. Would about the FATHER'S love? Would about the SON'S HUMILITY, Obedience, MEEKNESS, AND EQUANIMITY? Would about the HOLY SPIRIT STORYTELLING, SELFLESSNESS, AND HONOURING OF YESHUA HAMASHIACH, Sacrifice, Probity, Uber Mensch PERSONIFIED? Would about the ETERNAL GODHEAD'S Love that Endures Forever? It is often a lecture and Q and A about our security, safety and existence under attack and how we mere mortals are going to counterattack. Were is the beseeching, glorifying, honoring praising, and reverencing THE LORD? Is that to spiritual, to illogical, to out of touch with reality,? Christianity in The United States of a America has been like the church in Laodicea, LUKEWARM and needs to be spatted out of YESHUA HAMASHIACH mouth. If you're an American of color, you are part of the most prosperous, richest, and most influential group of black people in all of the world. Being American, regardless of your race, makes you affluent relative to the rest of the world, by far. I know you may not be aware of this, you enjoy quite a bit of privilege when it comes to your rights and freedoms, compared to the people of the world, also by far. I'm also a person of color, an immigrant, coming from a third world country, a naturalized citizen. But I'm not going to fall for a false message of counterfeit social justice, which tries to connect itself to the gospel deceptively, and poisons the minds of young people with cynicism, even when they have so much going for them. A Christian is called to engage both his mind and his heart. If he does one without the other he's going to go wrong.

But I say unto you that ye resist not evil, but whosoever smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other, also. And if any man will sue thee at the law and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak, also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him two. Give to him that asks thee and from him that would borrow of thee, turn not thou away. [Matt 5:38-42] "....love your enemies; bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you" [5:43-45] Evangelicals who oppose social justice only do so because they misunderstand audience and message in the bible. The typical audience is Israel then gentiles who submit to the God of Israel. There is a segment of society who serve and always provide upward and there are those who readily accept the fruit of the laborers; the laborers who should feel grateful for the crumbs without complaint. They're not worthy of social justice. Therefore Christ came and preached the gospel to the poor. He will bring their justice when the gentiles will bring their wealth and build the walls of israel. ". .and they shall take them.captuves whose captives they were and shall rule over their oppressors " [Isaiah 14: 2] "He that leads into captivity must be lead into captivity. He that killed with the sword must be killed with the sword" 66 books on social justice.

Nathaniel Michael - When God says, “The first will be last, and the last will be first,” He is saying He will bring that about in the coming time, not that we humans should be doing that using arbitrary measures of who is what (first or last). The early church did consists of members who sold their belongings and gave to each as they had need, but that was voluntary and on a small scale, kind of like how a family is totally “socialist,” with the parents distributing to the rest of the family (children and sometimes extended family). The current way of Critical race theory is a forceful grab for power and wealth, but based on arbitrary, external immutable characteristics of a person’s genetics... basically treating all people as “groups” instead of as individuals which bear their own responsibility for their own actions. Now of course Christians are called to love by giving to those in need, but current social justice theory contends that all those who are white (which is just racist) are guilty and deserve to be punished, and that disparities between groups of people must point to immoral deeds being done, which is not the case. Disparities between individuals and between groups are a fact of life and are the norm, not the exception, so the existence of disparities between certain groups of people doesn’t prove the existence of some racist system (which they blame for all of it). At best, this is all a big distraction based on false premises, but at worst, their goal is to tear down the moral systems that are currently in place since they have been deemed “problematic,” while also preventing people from actually addressing the true reasons for many of the group disparities that exist, thus hurting and harming those who are already hurting the most (financially, power-wise, emotionally/mentally, etc.). So while they use the word “justice,” as they actually “believe” they are doing justice, they are in reality, not. Even worse, they are actually causing injustices, and justifying it as legitimate means to a “moral” end!

@@AN-jw2oe What reason do we have to believe that the generosity and economic sharing of the Jerusalem church was a temporary situation never intended for larger scale practice? Why can't the Kingdom of God enact such a system on a national level and why shouldn't it? The practice was surely Spirit inspired and if we claim the power of the Spirit today, I personally refuse to say anything is impossible. Evil has most decidedly been practiced in this nation very recently. The Tulsa Race Riot isn't even 100 years old. To think that we went from burning black people's homes and murdering them with impunity to an absolutely fair situation in one or two generations is absurd. Beyond that though, I would point out that Christian hospitality and generosity need not be limited by group vs individual considerations. This is an useless distinction and born of obsession with the free market and American individualism. 1 Corinthians 16.1-4 makes it clear the financial assistance to groups in need is a work of the church. I know you will want to narrow the scope of that giving based on the specific situation in 1 Corinthians, but ask yourself why. The only reason to set boundaries on this principle is because we have already decided that we don't want to be beholden to the principle within our context. We interpret away every call for us to give financially, ultimately because the American dream is more foundational in our hearts than the gospel of unconditional love for our neighbors. As far as your read on racism as some kind of manipulation tactic, I recommend that you take another look at the evidence. Perhaps try watching the Netflix documentary 13th or Jemar Tisby's book, The Color of Compromise with an open mind. I think you are simply wrong or rather are talking about tactics which certainly are used, but accusing people who are indeed not practicing this. I believe you are taking reality too far.

@@nathanielmichael1499 Leviticus 19:9 "'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10 Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God. Luke 12:13 Someone in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me." 14 Jesus replied, "Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?" 2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat." 1 Timothy 5:3 Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. 4 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. 5 The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help. 8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 9 No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband, 10 and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord's people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds. 11 As for younger widows, do not put them on such a list. For when their sensual desires overcome their dedication to Christ, they want to marry. 16 If any woman who is a believer has widows in her care, she should continue to help them and not let the church be burdened with them, so that the church can help those widows who are really in need. 17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.
