I almost quit because none of my preceptors speak good English and get angry when I don’t do it right after shadowing them. This is the best video I’ve seen!! You’re a great teacher.
Awww thanks. 🙏🏽 I hope you’re able to understand them eventually and their able to slow down to teach! They gotta have patience but if you feel like it ain’t working then request a new preceptor!
@@ThePrettyeyes341 I’m sorry you’re going through this too. It’s unfortunate how nasty people are in healthcare when all we want to do is help patients. I’m planning on leaving nursing all together after I get a few months experience. It’s been a horrible experience for me so I know what you are saying.
@@user-qr8mp6zx6k oh wow! Thank you. Something is wrong if all of us are saying the same things. Im so sorry your experience has been so bad. I know things will get better once you leave to happier pastures. I also am leaving nursing all together. Signing up for classes today. Good luck to you and hang in there until you can get out of there 💙💚
Thank you Eboni. I started at Fresenius recently and am setting up machines tomorrow ! I did not really get it in class, I just need to have a system. I was going to watch this a couple times and ingrain it into my head! Thanks again!
I just started at Fresenius like 2 weeks ago and no lie the machine set up really trips me up and the other techs there don’t really explain what they doing while they’re going along . i didn’t think anyone would have a video of the more updated machines but i lucked up 🍀 when i found your channel . Thanks you so much 🤲🏽
@@imeboni the set up was the most problematic for me and even now i review it consistently so I’m doing it correctly because one slip up and 🤯 but other than i think seeing what parts to clamps on the machine would be reassuring and maybe if possible the water/dialysate check ..thats still kind of confusing if you wouldn’t mind but other than that i love the content 🤌🏽🔥
@@FKASAINT006 ok. I can do one with the clamps! When you say water/dialysate check are you referring to the water room strip or checking the dialysate after you mix it?
@@imeboni thanks for asking when i meant far as water check i meant with the RC strips . Like the water check that has to be done to assure the machine are operable for the patients.
@@FKASAINT006 no problem. My biomed just told me yesterday that the instructions should be either on the side of the bottle or in the bag that the strips come in. I want to make sure I’m answering your question correctly but What is the confusing part for you?
Thank you so much for this video I just shadowed this morning at Fresenius and I’m kind of scared but I want to take on the challenge. I was a hospital CNA prior and its a completely different world
Once accepted an hour you are already hired but for whatever reason they take forever to process everything on the back end. It took at least a month for me.
I working at davita now and it's not hard ... whats hard is when you have 4 patients and they coming off the machine .. patient one 10:15 .. patient two 10:30 .. patient three 10:45 .. patient four 11:00 and you have have to be fast to take off each patient 15mins apart and fill in snappy software wear ... remove the bloodlines .. clean the machine and reput new bloodlines on AND then connect 4 new patients who waiting ... that's the HARDEST part of this job.
@@imeboni Yes but I found a way to beat change over ... as soon as you RINSE patient #1 ... hurry up put the clamps on his access .. and instantly pull off bloodlines and bleach machine and put new bloodlines on .. then prime .. then fill out snappy until patient #2 beeps
@@damien_and_erza2195 truuueee thats kind of what I do and I get numbers while rinsing the patient back. While watching my patient to make sure they are safe because sometimes their blood pressure bottoms out when you put their feet down but that comes with getting to know the patient
OMGGGG ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS!!!! SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS!!!!! i keep getting confused on each step and found this one super helpful!! very clear directions!! thank you!
I’m in nursing school and this is my 3rd week as a tech with no prior dialysis experience 🥲 I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into lol but I’m enjoying it for the most part, definitely a challenge
thank you for this video. i had my machine day on wednesday and i was so overwhelmed. it seemed so confusing when my preceptor explained it. watching this video helped me understand so much better :) all i need now is how to take the machine apart after each treatment 😭❤️
That is awesome! I, every time im going to do a priming we will wait until the machine acknowledge if we are going to attach the dialyser to the machine or coupling
omg thank so much! today was my first day trying to set up the machines at fresenius and i felt like a loser because i kept getting stopped at "what do i do after arterial bloodline!"
I was hired as pct with no experience in dialysis at all nor in medical setting. I’m already on my 4 week but I’m still confuse and I started to cannula the a pt. It’s a scary thing and very challenging for me. But I’m liking the job and wants to be able to work as a licensed pct. You video helps me a lot.
Welcome to the world of dialysis! You won’t feel like you got a grip on things until 6mths to a year. But once you get your flow things get easier! 👋🏽thanks for watching 😉
@@imeboni thank you so much! Cuz most of the time I feeling like I’m a dumb and slow learner. I hope you keeping doing more videos because you don’t know how you much you have helped others like me.
Im a CNA but got hired as a pct, lol im nervous. Was told I was gonna be trained to be a pct. I start next week. Hoping to be a nurse 🙏 😌. More to learn
Starting as a PCT is the best! You gonna learn the ins and outs of your clinic. I start school for my prerequisites so I understand the goal. You got this!
I have a question what is the hardest part of the job? I have no medical experience besides my ma program and externship and I just applied for pct at a kidney center.
@@85sosweet I would say that change over is the hardest part of the job! You are one person trying to multitask multiple people on a time crunch. I will deforestation make a video about this to go into more detail
I started dialysis about 2 years ago. When the preceptors from Florida came down. I got dinged. I was told the blood segment line needs to be wet before going into the blood pump
So you can prime it without hooking the machine up to the wall first? I just got out of training and I saw my preceptor before hooking the machine to the bath before setting up the lines.
I used the CCHT prep app and went off of what we do from day to day. I took the CCHT because that’s the test option that the company I worked for at the time had.
Yea I tell ppl don’t rush me…the pressure of the new task alone can cause you to mess up or make mistakes…soooo idk why they rush folk…as you learn what you’re doing you will get a good groove
Just started Fresenius 4/1/24 after doing phlebotomy/MA/LCA/EKG. We are rushed as well. Ed isn’t correlating with clinic. No matter how many times we say we feel that way, they throw something else at us and expect us to remember a week later after one try. I’m ready to quit and I’m no quitter.
