Thanks Man. I recently got a Strat after years of only playing acoustics. It had stripped thread in the old cast ZINC block. I bought a new block in COLD ROLLED STEEL. Then realised I had no idea how to fit it and set up again. So in spite of shaky cam and shaky accent, ha ha, your lessons gave me the CONFIDENCE to do it myself. Saved money on getting it done and best of all have the SATISFACTION that comes with really UNDERSTANDING how something works. Thanks again Galazzeo, from Jon in London.

awesome! i actually realise now that i put my sperzel locking tuners on in a faulty way.. will fix that now, they are staggered and just put on randomly.

@charlesdespres When you mount the strings they are fixed on the bridge side, so you end up with a string which is twisted when in tension. This damages the strings structure intonation and and tone. The Klusons gives you the opportuninty to release the string, let it twist back to its original condition and remount them as they keep the shape at the tuners once wrapped. This is a trick I also use on the Floyd Rose to get a better tone ;)

Excelent class Mr. Frudua, thanks for sharing. By the way, would you have any further instruction / sugestion in case the Strato has a zero fret? Can a zero fret work well with the Tremolo?

@FruduaTv Thanks for the info. But I'm not sure the strings always twist. When they do, you can see that they vibrate in a weird pattern. But I need to check it out next time I change my strings. Thanks again for the great videos and information. Food for thought!

In my strat's case, the strings that always go out of tune when bendings are the 4, 5 and 6 string progressively where the 6 in which go out the most, and the 1, 2 and 3 practicaly never untune even with agresive bendings... I give up! 😣

@charlesdespres They also offer another advantage few knows: you can tune and then untune, un-tiwst them and retune so strings are not twisted in tune (no sure I explained mysle fin english ahahahah)

@charlesdespres I't's impossible to note this when they are in tune the tension is too high but tensioning them twisted weakens the strings strcture and mod vibration.

@Kitarraman Quelle a cui ti riferisci si chiamano EZ-lock e sono quelle che usiamo sulle Tuscany. Le Self Fixing mi risultano essere un'altra cosa però. Comunque sono ottime se non vuoi spendere moltoe ti permettono di scegliere l'angolazione della corda sul nut che aiuta sicuramente. Se ti puoi permettere le Fender autobloccanti che sono un rimpiazzo diretto (quelle che bloccano da dietro come le Sperzel) meglio ancora. Occhio che siano staggered.

The vintage Kluson tuners are the best ! You can't sting your fingers on the string ends. And you don't need to use staggered tuners or worry about the b and e string tree... all you need to do is use the proper string length and correct number of turns around the post to get the appropriate angle from the nut.

Great video ! I don't use the tremolo on my Squire Strat. Do you think it would still be a good idea to remove the D and G string tree to improve tuning stability on those strings ?

@Kitarraman Penso che le meccaniche Wilk Self Fixing a cui ti riferisci non siano autobloccanti come pensi tu ma meccaniche normali che non necessitanno di una vite epr essere fissate sul retro del manico. Noi sulle Tuscany usiamo le EZlock e sulle Exlusive delle meccaniche autobloccanti molto buone ma proprietarie.

Sus vídeos me han sido de mucha utilidad, tengo una duda, tengo una stratocaster highway one a la que le puse locking tuners de fender, solo me vinieron en 2 tamaños, 3 grandes para las cuerdas graves y 3 de menor tamaño para las cuerdas agudas, mi consulta es si me recomendaría retirar los de string trees con lo que vino la guitarra, saludos desde Perú!!

can you make a video on how to change strings and keep your tremlo a floating tremelo? Or should i just change my strings one at a time so i never have to worry about the tension being taken off the floating trem.

Ho un Fender americano Staggered sintonizzatori, quando ho messo le stringhe di nuovo sulla mia chitarra e arricciare, in qualche modo modificare l'angolo corretto. C'è una misura esatta in cui deve tagliare la corda in modo che l'angolo è corretto? between 6 and 12 degrees? Surely the 'perfect' nut angle is no angle at all? For instance..a straight run over the nut to the tuners?

Shimming tuning pegs? Rolling string trees? Locking, staggered tuning pegs? DUDE! Ummm... Mr. Rose SOLVED all this stuff with the patented double-locking trem that bears his name. Any FR Licensed trem would be cost effective (my favorite being the TRS-101 made by Takeuchi of Japan) and would eliminate and erradicate any and ALL of these issues. All of these issues you're discussing regarding the headstock? A locking nut would totally eliminate them!
