Canadian friends: I did talk to one of their rep on the phone and they told me that (for simplicity, let's say if we are paying in USD currency) the price ($3799) for Canada will remain same. They will add extra $225 for the lift gate in the forklift service for residential addresses. They will charge few hundred bucks to ship to Canada, but the best part is that there won't be any tax nor any extra charges for "customs and duties". Everything will be included in the price ($4025 + shipping ($200 or so)). The item will be delivered within 7 to 10 business days. I don't know what else I would need after that and why I will look anywhere else!!!

It would probably be really nice if all the ramps released and lowered automatically when the lift hit the fully lowered position back down on the floor. Maybe some magnets embedded into the bottom side of those rubber blocks to help keep them from moving accidentally before the vehicle is lifted. A magnetic parts tray would be a worthy addition if you dont already have one. You can stick it to the lift platform while the car is off the ground and keep any removed fasteners organized or from falling and getting lost in the floor mats. A small cordless magnetic work light may also be a helpful tool. Milwaukee makes a few different good ones. A magnetic drain plug tool will keep your fingers from getting covered in oil when doing oil changes. Not that i have any real experience with these, but it’s probably ALWAYS a good idea to keep those adjustable cross bar pads as low as possible. Instead of screwing them all the way up to meet the truck’s frame, raise the lift slightly first to keep the screws as low as possible and increase the overall stability of the vehicle while its off the ground.. The added height savings while lifted should just be a bonus - and not the only motivation of doing it that way IMHO. Cordless impact wrenches guy - itll make life much easier, and you can get rid of that giant loud compressor in favor of a much small pancake about 1/10th the size. Just enough to have some air for a blow gun and fill the occasional tire. Although you can even get a small cordless compressor these days that will do both of the above, or an even smaller handheld model without a tank that will fill tires.. The cordless Milwaukee M18 and M12 platforms will make all your tasks much easier - and it looks like you dont mind spending a little $$$ to do that anyway ;). If nothing else they will give you something to review on your channel. Air tools are a thing of the past these days. Very nice garage and setup. I am extremely jealous. Lol

Thank you your post, it is really on top. I have checked the Stratus website and I was a bit surprised on the product detail - technical specification of this lift. It give us important parameters but other very important parameters are missing. Maybe you can help me out to rovide me a link or measure for the community who seriously considering buying this lift. Missing info (sorry if I was blind not to find it): min - max of jacking point (Rubber pads placement) distance in both directions (4 values), maximum length with locked ramps. Not having this info it is not possible to know whether this lift is suitable for a car or not. Porsche Cayenne 958 has 187cm of longitudial distance between jackpoints and quickjack 7000 is not suitable because it misses this parameter. On the other hand quickjack technical specification is superb, Stratus could learn from them a lot.

Good video on the MS9000E. I had a Quickjack 7000SLX and decide to move to a more robust lift so after watching your video a few times I whipped out the wallet and ordered myself a MS9000X today from Leon @ Stratus lifts. I am in Canada so this thing is going to cost an arm and a leg to purchase and get over to the Great White North. Can you move your body completely the center length working on a car between the middle of this lift? For example like removing a trans and driveshaft and dual exhaust like on a Mustang? Just curious how much center room there is to work in the middle of this lift sitting upright or laying on my back working on stuff in center of a car on it.
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum 2 года назад
Good question. Yes, plenty of room for that sort of thing. In fact if you take a quick look at some of my recent videos, I manual-swapped my car and this lift saved me during that process. The only thing I could see an issue with might be fuel lines or something running along the unibody by the jacking points - those might be tough. Hopefully they wouldn’t need to be replaced though. Also, the new 9000XT has more room in the center vs the 9000E and locks at a lower point. These were my recommendations that Stratus took to heart which is awesome. So if you can swing the XT that might suit you better, but the E has been a great lift for me as well. I should have a review of the XT in the next few months. 😎

If I had a garage as high as yours i would of gone with the full rise scissor lift.
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum 2 года назад
Not a bad thought, but I didn’t even want the ability to punch a car through the ceiling or to get it lifted to a point where I couldn’t release it down (to get it off the safety locks it goes up 1-2” before it comes down). Plus the cost was much higher. My next lift will be the latest 9000, which not only locks lower, but also goes up an additional 6”.
@nv8176
@nv8176 2 года назад
@@ForwardMomentum , I hear you brother just a matter of being careful, I had a single post lift in a garage high as yours and could nearly fully stand under it. Obsessed garage installed a full rise scissor lift that doesn't have external safety locks because they are built into the hydraulic system but it's very expensive, if you have the budget that ones the safest least problematic way to go. I just got an aston mid-rise they advertised as maximum lift of 47 inch but we shall see, I have yet to get it going.

Maybe this is a dumb question but why can’t you use the blocks or maybe a taller wood block to lift body on frame vehicles like the 4Runner or trucks?
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum 11 месяцев назад
It’s not a dumb question. The main answer is that it will use up a significant amount of the lift’s height before the vehicle starts to go up. Then you don’t get much actual overall “in the air” height to work under it. Most garage ceilings will be the biggest factor anyway, so blocks under the frame could be a good option for some. 👍

@ForwardMomentum

The lift can handle a car in either direction, so it’s a good thought. However, in my particular case the contact point in either direction is the roof of the vehicle, making how I pull the car on to the lift insignificant. Now if you mean a longer vehicle in the back vs the front and the garage door going up/down then I agree, considering both directions makes sense.

i just had to move my lift from one house to the other (went from 26x26 garage to little 20x20, bummer) and it was a huge pain. Ended up welding together a rolling cradle to hold the lift, then winched it onto my flatbed trailer. I still haven't figured out a good fix for the honestly unsafe wheels it comes with. so far so good though, i haven't had any major issues with mine yet other than sometimes one of the solenoids fail to function when lowering. when that happens you can kinda tell the clicks on the safety lock are no longer in unison due to the twist, but it usually self corrects after a few lift cycles. I should have made a video on my transport cradle though. Hobbled it together out of an old engine stand.

Crossbars integral to lift structure cannot be removed. Correct, some type of ramp system or similar would be needed for a trans jack. I chose this after hours of research and based it on cost vs lift height. I felt it was a great value and still feel that way.

So I got my 9000X couple weeks ago and yesterday finally got it going in the garage. Forward Momentum I need to ask you some questions. My lift went up no problem but comes down really slow and jerky with no load. I basically have to sit on 1 of the platforms with the wife holding the down button for it to come down all the way. Was it like that with your E when you first got it going? I'm sure with a car on it it will lower but I kinda thought that the lift would come down on its own with no load and not be jerky. I have cycled the raising and lowering a bunch of times already yesterday. 2nd thing is once I raised the platforms there was a lot of oil sitting on the inside of the frame that sits on the floor. There was no leak that I could see and I am wondering if yours was like that also when you first got it going? Could it be oil to keep the metal parts kinda lubed for long term after crating before sale to a customer? I cleaned up all the oil last night and this morning I went out to check and there is no evidence of oil leaking from the cylinders or the hydraulic fittings to them. The lift is built well but the jerky long downward movement of the lift with no load has me worried along with the oil I noticed once the platforms were raised. Remember I'm in Canada so getting any kind of warranty service isn't as easy as in the US. Hopefully you'll see this and have some answers??? Greetings and good morning from Canada.
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum 2 года назад
Hi! Greetings from the USA! Yes, slow and jerky at first is ok with no load. My E model is very slow down with no load, even after 100 cycles. Fact is we rarely raise and lower with no load. Once you feel safe to put a car on, you definitely want too slow vs too fast. The jerkiness should not be there with a load. As for oil, mine had a few drops too. I believe it was from testing the unit. I asked the same question of mine. All has been well and I still love my 9000 E. And don’t worry about warranty and being in Canada. Stratus will take care of you if there’s a legit problem. Report back when you know more. God bless. 😎

Nice idea with the remove before flight straps on the lift blocks. Can you tell me the length of the truck frame cross bars. I’m guessing 80” ?

do you happen to know if the lift could be stored outdoors? also how long are the hoses from the control box to the actual lift? thanks in advance
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum Год назад
Hoses on my 9000E are 8ft to box. I would call Stratus on outdoor storage. My first thought is no - too much risk of degradation due to weather. Also, it says not to use the lift on asphalt. Let me know if you find out from Stratus.

After using it for a while, what is your impression with the "new" locking mechanism? I thought the older one was beefier but it did have some flaws. I'm shoping and most seem to have the new style.
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum Год назад
I am still confident in using the lift and the locks. I use common sense and don’t bring down the car then release the “Down” button so it locks with all that force on the welded teeth. Bottom line: I still love the lift and I use it often. 👍
@crazyglue76
@crazyglue76 Год назад
@@ForwardMomentum Glad to hear it, but could you clarify what you meant by not bringing the car down with the down buttom so it locks? I can't determine what you meant sorry.
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum Год назад
Sorry, yes. As the car comes down it speeds up a little, by design, as it approaches the ground. As the lift passes the final lock point and all that force is coming down, if you release the button it tries to lock. If it happens to be at that last lock, a great deal of force will be applied to that last position. That doesn’t mean anything will happen, but if you have a heavy vehicle up there and the down speed adjustment set to fast, it could potentially damage the lift. I try to avoid that scenario is all. 👍
@crazyglue76
@crazyglue76 Год назад
@@ForwardMomentum Ah yes, I get it, mass AND speed agains those poor little lock hooks... It saw that on some models, there's an adjustment for the return speed, might help!

Thanks for tge video, would you recommend the lift for a c6 corvette? I do work on the engine and I do work in the transmission..
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum Год назад
Yes, provided the C6 is not too low. If it’s too low, I believe Stratus has some solutions besides wooden 2x6’s (cheap solution you can utilize if you need to). When I lift my lowered GS400 using the poly blocks on the pinch welds, the unibody frame rails slightly contact the ramps as well on the L and R. Not in a bad way, but almost in a good way. Definitely measure the lowest point on your car on each side, then compare to min height of the lift to decide your next move. Hope that helps. I do love the 9000E; it has been a game changer for garage work!

If I recall correctly, that’s right at the minimum. I want to say it’s 4.125” or something. You may need wood/ramps to safely get the C6 over.

I'd be turning off the power to my garage door to ensure it isn't opened accidentally when a car's in the way
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum Год назад
Yes, smart if you need to take that step. Unfortunately that resets my wireless module and causes a bunch of annoying issues. Mine has a “lock” button on the side of it I use. Also, while I wouldn’t want to test it, the up limit would be exceeded and it could never move the car on the lift. I’d be mostly worried about the paint on my car.

I would call Stratus and talk to them. If I’m not mistaken all garages, by code, should have a very slight angle to ensure water runs out. There could be solutions to fasten it to concrete, etc for you.

Between the cross bar and the lift? I would recommend it. Otherwise you will have two coated (slick) surfaces on one another and a high load. Not good.

Why did you remove the floor tiles?
@ForwardMomentum
@ForwardMomentum 3 года назад
So I could roll it into position easier. Also, the tiles provide 1/2” of additional height as the car rolls up on to the lift better and fits even though it’s lowered. And finally the tiles are slick and not rated for that type of weight, so I wanted it to be safe.
