Great video Dave, the 7300 and bencher is my primary paddle setup. If you turn break-in off you wont go into tx at all.

Hi Dave, I practice with my 7300 all the time and I just set the radio to break-in off. It works great and no worries about transmitting. Good video, 73 de Tim KE8LDT

Hi Dave. Looks like you meant for this video to end at 9:30, but after that time there is nothing but blank video afterwards for almost 12 minutes.

No need to turn power down... just turn break in off.. works great.

does that wiring of the jack plug the same on yaesu ft 101B ..?

The wiring should be the same, the connector might be different. Anyways, your radio's manual might have the correct wiring and connector.

I'm a bit confused by an old timer, as yourself, that you slap the paddle, as opposed to squeezing ? I thought just as proper finger placement is important for Straight Key operation, proper operation of paddles is just as important ? Seems if in fact your method is incorrect, then demonstrating such, would be detrimental to newbies ? It's like raising a child properly ! You do your best to teach them correctly, and what they do when they are older, is anyone's guess ! But shouldn't we strive to demonstrate operation correctly ? Otherwise you'll be promoting bad habits, and sadly that can easily become the norm ! Thanks Dave !
