Brand new paddock going in so I thought I'd try to document as much as I can in case anybody is interested in this kind of thing. We've had a decent amount of experience here building our paddocks and shelters and know what we like and don't like so far. This video concentrates on the initial base and drainage as that is what is going to make the paddock successful.
I really can't stress having good drainage enough, I can't count how many places I've either seen or heard about where the rainfall has overwhelmed the paddocks of horses and they are not only left standing in mud and muck, but it completely ruins the paddock itself and all the hard work put into making it. Having good drainage around the paddocks can really set up the build for success and longevity.
Following videos will talk further and show progress of that and then moving on to the footing, fencing and shelter.
