thank you for the information, i am having issues with the paper rolling too far forward or too far back before it cuts, when i load the single sheet it rolls and throws the paper off and then starts to cut, any suggestions on how to fix this? i am using 12 x 10 inch vinyl paper

Just tried mine out today, having an issue where it would cut fine for the first 12 inches of the 23 inch design. But after that it seems that it isn't putting pressure/cutting on the vinyl. Any idea why this is happening?

My project is very basic I cannot get it to format . I want to know do I need additional software for creating my 30 to 40 plus logos onto a sheet to cut. I have already gotten the file Vectorized but I cannot move forward I could use some recommendation I have a new machine that I cannot use.

Has anyone had any trouble with pinch wheels leaving indentions in the vinyl? The outer wheels is not a big deal but the center one leaves a place that doesn't come out.

why does my cutter shift the vinyl ?

It's possible the vinyl isn't loaded straight. You can pre-feed the vinyl before cutting to make sure it's aligned properly. If the wheels are on the far edge of the vinyl, this might cause a shift as well. Move the wheels slightly on the inside of the vinyl.

I did everything you did and the process is really easy except my practice cut didn’t cut through. What would be the next recommendation for speed and and Force option.

If it's still not cutting through, it's possible the blade isn't setup correctly. The blade should be exposed approximately 0.2" - or the thickness of a business card. The blade holder should be loaded exactly as shown in this video. The working range for your force is 80-125g, but could be higher depending on your blade depth. The speed is most commonly set anywhere from 400mm to 650mm for HTV.

This is just to guarantee that the blade is safely within the cutting area of the material. We do this since most people watching this video are beginners/novices. With experience, you'll learn how to adjust the blade origin closer to the edge and also how to fine tune your settings for your specific applications.

Thanks for your quick response! Do you have a detailed video somewhere that explains how to make sure the cutter settings or program settings don’t cut outside the actual vinyl itself for tight fitting patterns? I only have a 12x15 size sheet of vinyl but I also want to make sure I maximize the size of the design onto the vinyl itself.

Trying to set this up, In setup with the CD and cannot locate my Cutter Model Vinyl Systems Specialists 14" under "Select your Cutter Model". I only see GCC, Graphtec and Jinka drivers. Please advise

Here are a few tips to try: - Make sure the vinyl is loaded properly. The vinyl has to be stretched tight between the two wheels. - Increase the blade exposure - Increase the cut force - Lower the cut speed

Its asking me to connect to direct com port however my laptop does not have that port. I Used the USB cord provided and its telling me there isnt a detection when i clearly have it connected to my computer

While it uses the USB cable, the connection is still through the COM selection on the software. So you should be able to connect with the provided blue USB cable to your computer using the "Direct COM Port" option. There is an option to mirror your image in the cut settings (for heat transfer vinyl). Simply uncheck that box and then everything will cut normally.

Yes, your graphic should always be mirrored/backwards if you're cutting heat transfer vinyl. The blade should be cutting the softer vinyl side of your material (color may vary). When in doubt, get your weeding hook tool and test which side it's able to poke through. That's the side you want to cut.

Yes. The 14" Specialist accommodates media up to 14.4" wide. The max cut width is 10.6". This should be more than enough to handle 4" strips.

Love the cutter but it keeps catching vinyl on the ruler section. Rolls of vinyl are going to be curved to hit right on this area. Any ideas how I can mitigate the vinyl getting caught on the edge of the ruler??? I can't leave a 4 in section of vinyl hanging off the front end that would end up wasting too much vinyl.

Nope. The blade will pivot to cut in the direction it's being pulled.

Between this vinyl cutter and the Cameo 4, which one would you recommend?

They each have their own advantages. The Specialist comes in 28", 32", and 52" widths. This means it can handle full-sized and oversized rolls of vinyl and other media. The Specialist is also considerably faster than the Cameo. The Cameo 4 is compatible with both PC's and Mac computers; the Specialist is PC-only. The Cameo 4 can contour cut (aka Print & Cut); the Specialist cannot.

Bought this exact machine (28"), was told it came with software (Basic). I see nothing included, or even a code for a digital download, am I missing something here? I have a very expensive paper weight at the moment...

@@mrbegreattoday1229 I got that finally figured out, now the software is asking for the serial number, but when I put in the 6 digit serial number on the machine, the software rejects it. This is so frustration. And this video doesn't match any of the steps that the software is asking for. Edit: I found out that even though they are asking for the PSN (Serial number), they actually want the software product key. Works now. Wish they would fix that though, that is frustrating when they ask for incorrect info!

How do I stop over cutting with lettering? Over cuts with cursive fonts that I imported

Some cursive fonts need to be welded to remove any overlap on the letters. In SignMaster, right click your text -> convert to -> curves. Right click again -> ungroup. Now you'll see that each letter is it's own individual shape. Select all of your letters and right click -> welding -> weld selected. All of the letters are now joined together as one single shape, with no overlap between the letters.

The Silhouette Cameo and Graphtec vinyl cutters are Mac-compatible. Cameo 4: heat.press/cameo4 Graphtec Cutters: heat.press/graphtec This cutter, the Vinyl Systems Specialist, is not readily compatible with Apple computers. There are some workarounds, like running Apple's Boot Camp or another program called Parallels. These programs will allow you to run a Windows OS on your Apple computer. This is not an official recommendation. Use these programs at your own risk.

Double check that you have a vector graphic selected to send to cut. If a graphic isn't selected AND/OR if the graphic isn't a vector, then it will not give you the option to cut.

No, the Specialist doesn't contour cut. The Edge and Evo are the two cutters in the Vinyl Systems line that will have the contour cutting feature.

No, this machine is not recommended for window tint. For that, you'll want something like the Graphtec CE7000 or GCC Jaguar.

Do you mean a cutting mat? If so, it depends on what you're cutting. Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) should be fine without it. But if you're cutting heat transfer paper, then you'll definitely need a cutting mat.

If the graphic is simple enough, you can layer multiple colors of HTV. Import your JPEG/PNG/etc into SignMaster (Ctrl + i) -> right-click on the image -> image tools & options -> Vectorize (Trace) -> adjust settings as needed -> Trace -> Accept -> DONE!

It depends on what material your stencil is made out of. If you're using an adhesive vinyl stencil, then yes. But if you want to cut plastic, or something similar, you'll probably want to look into getting a laser cutter.

The VinylSystems line of cutters are only compatible with Windows. If you're looking for a Mac-compatible vinyl cutter, we recommend either a Silhouette or Graphtec. Both of those will work great.

This cutter is meant to cut designs from heat transfer and adhesive decal vinyl. The vinyl is available in a wide variety of colors. Whatever color you want your transfer, that's the color of vinyl you buy. This machine does not print anything, as it does not have any ink.
