Just got back into cigars after just under a 20-year hiatus. I bought a traditional glass top humidor but soon returned it after someone on RU-vid recommended the Tupperdore route, and they suggested the Rubbermaid Brilliance line with Boveda packs. The Brilliance containers are nice but a bit small. After AJ and Sigmanado turned up in my feed, I took his advice and started buying the Sistema containers. Now I have 6 Sistema containers (2 of them with 2 Spanish cedar trays each) and 6 Brilliance containers. Thanks for the great content, AJ! Keep 'em comin'!
I used 65% boveda’s in my sistema tupperdore with boxed cigars and the cigars grew mould. Hygrometer was reading spot on and were kept in a cool dark place in my house. So not sure what went on there
Yeah that's very unfortunate! This video my shed a little bit of light on that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VVlGwndBR2I.htmlsi=HCRSZdgzIYXicFzA
5:10 I bought some cigars and they feel like they need to have some humidity back into them since they are pretty hard, would you recommend a 69% boveda in a tupidor to rehumidify them? Or just use 65% to rehumidify the cigars in a tumidor ?
Slow and steady is the way. Even better if you can bring them up gradually using lower RH. Otherwise, let them sit at your preferred RH and they will rehydrate in a couple weeks.
