@@Stuntchucks did you have the 2 hamsters in the same cage? If you did, the one that’s still alive is going to be just fine. They don’t usually like company and prefer being alone :) What’s your hamsters set up like? Like cage size, bedding depth, and wheel size? And what kind of hamster are they?
Excellent job. Loads of space, plenty of hidey holes, and lots to keep him busy. One improvement would be to add more bedding so it’s REALLY deep. 8 to 10 inches deep will give your hamster plenty of room to burrow. Nice job!
MR. MARSHMALLOW 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 He will be missed 😔 He’s Not suffering anymore 😢❤️❤️❤️ When I saw That Mr. Marshmallow Died I Had A Breakdown And Started Crying 😢 💔
Nice big cage, well done. I had many hamsters, one was even bestie with my cat. Just an idea: go high. Install a loft with a little house and branches etc. he can chew on. The cage is so big, lofts on both sides are possible. That would give hammie more space on ground floor, and you could add a bowl with very fine sand, like that for chinchillas. Hamsters clean themselves in the sand, you will have fun to watch that. And I agree, he needs some deep soil to build a cave, that is how he would live in nature. No rocks please, he might chew on them. I bet you also know the diet for hamsters, they eat meat and plants and their seeds. No sunflower or nuts etc please. The hamster food sold is no good. As treat to bond popcorn is great, of course plain. Also fresh veggies, they love cucumbers, fruits too, but watch the sugar, so not too often. Dried flowers are good. I miss water supply in your setting. Please add a little shallow bowl or plate in a safe spot. They do drink if needed. Keep him busy looking for food by placing it all over the area. Hamsters roam around a lot in search of food, that keeps him healthy and fit. And make sure his tiny paws can't get stuck anywhere, the house tops have gaps. Don't mean to criticise, you did a good job, just a few alterations suggested. Wish all pet owners were like you who cares and provides so much space. And good you show the video. Greetings from Germany ❤
I have 13 inches of bedding and my hamster STILL digs at the bottom of his cage. More bedding is ALWAYS better, especially when you are fortunate enough to have such a big cage!
I'm getting this and likely another to stack on top for even more space and make into a paradise for my new furbaby 💖 A neighbour gave me her beautiful silver Syrian hamster boy 2 days ago i don't know much about them and I'm a ferret mom but ive done tons of research and he knows hes in a very loving home because my neighbour never really made time for him and the home was pretty toxic. Last night i made an extra story for his cage out of a big plastic tub and cable ties and added wood, stones etc he loved it and before he came to me i took care of him and brought him an ash bath, toys, veg, treats etc.. I'm just so glad that another animal is in a loving home ❤❤❤❤❤
I used to have a massive cage for my hamster too, they need the space. And my rabbit was a house rabbit because hutches are cruel unless theyre massive.
It's lovely to see how some people actually make a wonderful enclosure for their hamster ❤️ Just a little tip you could do (depending how your bedding is) The bedding I used for my hamster was really soft and kept breaking the tunnels, so I pressed it abit down so it's more stable for the digging :) Ofc you don't need to do it, if you noticed that the tunnels hold well without it too
Man, literally everything you do for your hamsters is perfect except the bedding! I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but they really need atleast 6 inches of bedding (tho 10 is preferred) and it needs to be packed down really good! Your bedding doesn’t seem to be packed down and even then it’s nowhere near 6 inches
hii! I just wanna ask, do you have guinea pigs? Because i have 24 guinea pigs and really want a hamster..i do live in australia and google hasnt explained so much. Btw, i just wanna say you're amazing for treating hamsters so well❤❤
No space for tunnels? That’s like 80% of their enrichment. The set up is lovely and the scattered foods are nice but it’s all very visual. I’m sure your hammy would love it if you filled the whole bottom then used the other two substrates in 5inch deep containers so they can actually play in it rather than only being able to step on it. You have plenty of depth! Use it!
Where do you buy the sprays and can I make them? I grow tons of herbs and do a lot of holistic type tinctures for us people but was thinking I could probably make the sprays for my dwarf hamster enrichment
