Welcome to another tutorial video. Today I’m going to go over how I set up my Comica Lavalier Microphones. I can speak from personal experience when I say that transitioning from being a fulltime photographer to being a photographer and videographer came with a learning curve. Plugging a new mic into a camera and expecting it to sound good wasn’t as simple as popping on a new lens. So I’m making this video for those of you who are in the same position I was in as I learned how to properly set up audio. In this video I’ll be going through a step by step tutorial on how I set up my Comica CVM-WM200 Lav Mics. This beginners tutorial is geared towards the WM200 mics but the steps I go through in order to set up the lav mics can be applied to any lavalier mic system. In this video you’ll learn how to setup your lav mics and get the best quality sound out them.

@@vaskoobscura_ I'm confused about setting the volume level. Some people say set to 0. I can't tell. the difference, when I speak into my Lav mic. What do you recommend ?

How do we adjust the mic sensitivity like sennheiser g3 on the transmitter side, kindly expline

It's strange on these foreign brands because they don't use the same language. You adjust the mic sensitivity through the receiver by adjusting the channel's volume. The colume is basically the mics sensitivity. I keep mine set to 1 because I think it creates the cleanest sound. Hope that helps. Hey hi hope you're having a good day. I haven't tried the Boya equivalent. If I can get a hold of a set of the Boya Mics i'll do a comparison video on them.

Can you help me ? One light is blinking On the unit that I connect to the camera. Why ? How do I get it to Glow steady ? I have the Comica 100-plus unit. Thanks Keith

Hey thanks for the comment. I haven't run into that problem. You have a different set of Lavs than I have I would recommend checking your instruction manual. I'm sure the info is in there. Good luck.

How can I eliminate the auto gain on the settings of a a7iii camera?

It's been a long time since I used that camera I don't remember exactly what the settings are. From what I remember the audio is set to auto by default so you have to go into the menu and change the audio input to manual. Once you do that you should see an option to set the gain level. Set your input to -12db and then adjust from there.

@@vaskoobscura_ yes, after looking around I only find out that it is by default. Some recommend setting it up at -1, -3 and even at -10. I hope they added that auto gain button switch to turn it off in the new gen cameras.

I don't know what the track is anymore it's been so long. But I can tell you that I got it from epidemicsound.com and it was in the snthwave section. Hope that helps.
