Being from the Deep Sunny South .... When hooking up the water ... I add a step. I find it very rewarding to turn on the spigot and flush it before hooking up the filter/hose. Keeps the wasps/honey bees/bumblebees from being introduced to my system. You never know when one of God's creatures is looking for a drink. It's also a good idea to keep wasp spray handy. It doesn't take any time for a wasp to set up shop in the electrical enclosure. Especially if it's not the most desired spot and gets the least amount of usage. A tip for those folks just starting out and worried about backing .... instead of the 'reverse turn' method to back the trailer .... simply put your hand at the "bottom" of the steering wheel and turn it the direction you want the back of the trailer to go. (My Two Cents for the day.) Always enjoy your videos. Keep 'em coming. :)

Good tips. Another would be to fill the hose with water before attaching to the trailer so there's less air being pushed through your trailer's plumbing the first time you use the faucet.

While hubby is leveling, I'm hooking up the power and either cooling down or warming up the camper. I'll then set up rugs and chairs etc.. until he is done with leveling. While he hooks up hoses, I'm setting up inside. We both finish up about the same time and relax with a snack.

Nice video, You will probably get a hundred comments on this subject. You should always wear gloves before hooking up and dumping the tanks. For the freshwater spigot, I always sanitize it first before hooking up the hose. Remember water is the black and gray tanks best friend, the more water the better, They are holding tanks, not a septic tank. Even the gray tank will build up solids after a day or so if left open. Ever have to unplug a bathroom or kitchen sink? That's what stays at the bottom of the gray tank when not enough water is kept in it. Just a suggestion. Safe Travels!

This is great. My husband and I have a rhythm for set up. I do the electric plug in while he is doing the stabilizers. This is usually because it is cold and we want to get the heat going. We bought a little electric heater for when it is below 40. It took one evening after driving all day for us to buy one at Walmart while we were waiting for the trailer to heat up. Sometimes we will do the sewer hookup the next day as we usually arrive late. We couldn’t have done this without your help in last videos so please don’t forget this!

As a witness to seeing you back into and set up at a campsite at night, I KNOW you're a pro! Great demonstration - and we picked up some tips (such as the level on the hitch and those Eddie Bauer ties for the sway bar) that we're gonna use! Quick question...If Patty was surprised you booked 3 days at Fort Wilderness, was her second surprise getting booted out of the truck to film this demo? Lol!! Nice job, assistant producer! Safe travels and a great week ahead until we see you, #ondowntheroad ~💜

Never too late to try something new- I have the stabilizer socket and never used it. I am going to try it out now that I have seen that the stabilizers effortlessly lower in about 2 nanoseconds! Pretty cool. I know some folks commented that you were moving too fast. Well, I will suggest that you were doing that primarily to keep this moving along quickly (like some of us are with short attention spans or impatient, lol). Great video as always, thanks.

Love your videos. Yes I want to start camping. Do you have a suggestion where I can "just try out" the campers first? I would hate to go to a rv camper company where they will force me to buy a camper. I would like to try out (like go to the campsite stay in the trailer for 2 or 3 days to see which camper is for me.) . Love your cheerful attitude.
@TravelswithDelaney
@TravelswithDelaney 5 лет назад
There are places around the country that do rent campers and in some cases they will even set them up for you on a site. It depends on where you are at. For instance, Princess Craft in Round Rock, Texas rents trailers. I would suggest doing a quick internet search for RV Rentals or Travel Trailer Rentals to see what might be available in your area.

I'm putting in another request. Show us how you approach the campsite and line up to first begin the backup. I've heard the "swoop" method works. A video would be great! I notice you don't use the "leave your hand at 6pm" approach. Are you watching a backup camera? I'm picking up my T@B 400 tomorrow and I'm a single traveler and have never towed anything so I'm a bit terrified!

We have a Progressive Industry surge protector although they make several different ones. We have the basic one which I am not sure actually does much now that I have done more research on them. I am looking at upgrading ours to the Progressive Industry EMS system which is suppose to protect the entire trailer. I believe that all of the NuCamp 320 & 400 trailers are 30 Amp. I am not sure if the new Avia is 30 or 50 amp

We’re still learning to back up our Casita travel trailer, it’s challenging. I noticed your trailer hitch is the type that is adjustable. How do you like it? Ours is fixed, but if I tow with another vehicle it would be nice to have an adaptable device. We tow with a 4Runner too. Did you stiffen the rear suspension? Ours drops a few inches. I have some concerns the headlights could affect oncoming traffic if we travel at night
@TravelswithDelaney
@TravelswithDelaney 5 лет назад
It is actually a weight distribution hitch that we had. It's a bit overkill for this size trailer but since we owned it, we just still use it. I did add the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System to our 4Runner. It was $250 installed and it took the squat out of our 4runner when hooked up to the trailer. Now we only squat about 1" in the rear now when hauling.

Patrick, darling! Please do not be offended and I really am not making fun of you! But either let Patty do the setting up, or you take a “chill pill” before you do it! You do that blokes thing where it all needs to get done NOW! Stop darling and have a gin and something and relax! Don’t worry about the AC the ice in the gin will cool you down and then you can start the process....... I really love you two and will continue to follow and buy from Amazon and no real advise other than , relax a little and don’t worry if setting up takes longer then 20 mins. Leave that macho stuff to the Bronco’s! You two are far more sophisticated than that rushing business. Lots of love. Peter xxxxxx

So I just took my new to me T@b on her maiden voyage and can't figure out how to get the hot water on once everything is hooked up. Do you have any demo videos on that issue? Thanks!

Did you turn on the Alde? It can run on either propane or electric. This video might help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3HwuMlV6w1k.html

How was the drive down? How was the tow over Jellico?

Other than getting through Atlanta, it was a good drive down and back. Absolutely no issues with Jellico. The 4Runner has plenty of power and braking and handled the climbs out west in the Cascade Range with ease.

Could you post the link for the drill adapter for leveling jacks? I went on your amazon page and there were several and I was confused as to what to get.

I have no idea what he was doing during the unhitch. I will have to watch some more basic, slower videos.

What type of sway bar do you have and are you happy with it? I need to order one for my Tab400 and would love a suggestion.

Jessica Taylor We have a Husky brand friction sway bar that we’ve owned for probably 12 years and has been used on several different trailers. You can find friction sway bars on Amazon for under $50.
