Steps for setting up scan to email on HP Enterprise MFPs:
Open a web browser and enter your printer's IP address or host name.
Select Sign In, then the Networking tab.
Select TCP/IP Settings, then select Network Identification.
Select Apply, then the Scan/Digital Send tab.
Select Email and scan to Network Folder Quick Setup Wizards.
Select Email Setup, select your options, then Next.
Enter mail information, then select Next.
Configure any additional settings, then select Next, then Finish.

My menu doesn't have an option for "TCP/IP settings". I use an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw

+Mario Flores The printer has a feature that enables it to scan a document and send it to one or more email addresses. To use this scan feature, the printer must be connected to a network; however, the feature is not available until it has been configured. Choose "Scan/Digital Send" from the top and go to "Contacts" along the left side. You'll see the address books there.

I just bought that printer from an auction. PROBLEM: I can't log in the website because the previous owner credentials can't be updated or changed. I NEED their password to do this. IS THERE A WAY that I can reset this? So, that I can put my credentials? Or do I have to call the previous owner? I am bummed. 😓☹

@@HPSupport I have tried everything. Can't log on the printer browser page. Never had the password. HOW CAN I RESET PASSWORD? Should I contact the previous owner? please advise😔

Final solution was to reformat the disk and reload a firmware. Before you start this process, be sure to download a firmware file appropriate for your printer and save it to the root folder of a FAT32 USB thumbdrive. You may also want to print a configuration page to be able to reset the network settings, etc. The steps I took: Power off the printer Power on the printer, and when the HP Logo and 1/8 appear on the display, touch the HP Logo to bring up the Preboot menu. Select Administrator. Select Format Disk. (Yes, I first tried Clear Password and it did not work). This is quick. Select Download. Insert USB thunbdrive with firmware on it and select USB Thumbdrive from the menu. Select the file. Once copied, return to main menu, remove USB thumbdrive and select Continue. The boot proces will continue with a restart at step 6/8. Then you will see it Upgrading Firmware. Finally, it will come back to the setup screen to select language, location, time, etc. Make sure to reset the network settings, if necessary, or otherwise determine the IP address of your printer. Back on your computer, open a web browser and point it at the IP address. Once the page loads, go to the Security tab, and set the local adminstrator password. Write down or otherwise store the password in a secure manner. Binu - Social Media Tech Support
