I can get my TT685C flashes to work Manually from the XPROC trigger, but I can't get them to work in TTL mode. The flash goes off, but when I change the flash compensation on the XPROC and hit Set it doesn't change on the flash. Nor does the mm distance change. I Can't find a video anywhere that says how to get this to work. Can you help?

Thank you Alex for the great video. I'm trying to find out if it's possible to turn off or change the pre-flash setting on my Godox TT685, while still in TTL, as it's slowing down the shoot and I can see the quick pre-flashes which is affecting my subjects reaction. Thank you!

I'm almost sure that's a camera setting. Look for the "Red Eye Reduction" function on your camera and Disable it. This should make the flash to only fire when actually taking the picture

I have finally managed to get the flash to fire remotely, following your advice, however the of camera flash fires before taking the shot. Now i don't know to get them in sync. To clarify, my godox fires first then the on camera flash along with taking a shot (which i don't even know how it works, seeing the on camera flash that i use as a trigger should be triggering the godox). I am uzing a Panasonic FZ82 camera, if it helps.

You could use cables or a radio system to trigger the flash. If you want to use radio triggers, I suggest the Godox transmitters like the X1T or XPro.

Hi there! You only need a transmitter on your camera (X1T or XPro). The flash has an integrated receiver so it doesn need an additional trigger.

I'm guessing you're using the flash in TTL mode and the camera has the "Red Eye Reduction" function enabled. If you disable this function, the flash should only fire once.

I set mine to Manual 1/8 power but when I switch on Manual Mode on the camera (Sony A7iii) it goes to TTL flash. I couldn't change it on the top of the camera. I wish I'd bought the manual-only TT600 model. Scott Kelby recommends Manual only in his excellent book. I think the photographer should decide the settings he/she wants to use.

how many pictures can you take with AA batteries. How do you think, is the battery model (V350, or V860ii) more practical, or can the TT model work well?
@alexsilva_co
@alexsilva_co 4 года назад
I haven't kept track of the number of shots, but I've never ran out of power during a shoot, and I usually press the shutter button about 300 times per shoot. According to Godox' website, the Li-Ion - based flashes recharge faster and get you more shots, but my experience with those flashes is very limited.

@alexsilva_co
@alexsilva_co 2 года назад
Thanks for the question! Yes, you can trigger the TT685 while off-camera without a transmitter, you need to: - Set the TT685 to Manual mode and then press the S1/S2 button, setting it to Optical Slave - Set the camera to Manual mode and pop up the built-in flash - Go into the camera's menu and set the built-in flash to a low setting, like 1/8 power There you go! The TT685 will fire whenever the camera's built-in flash fires. You can see a demo in the following video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4tO1_5497nw.html

Interesting, my widest manual value for zoom is 20mm, yours seems lower than that! EDIT: I found out why, if you extend the built in diffuser, it goes down to 14mm. Unsure if it just adds on -6mm to settings or if it actually does anything differently internally. EDIT2: Hmm, that only seems to do it to 14mm, and it stays there, yours seemed to go wider still and being able to adjust. I'm using the Godox TT685N

the Godox TT685IIN says locked in the screen. How can I fix that? I'm new using flashes. Thank you.

The fix is pretty simple, just press the Mode button for 3-5 seconds. The flash should unlock after that.

Hi Alex, I have the same flash and i need some help. Can you help me understand how can i trigger the flash remotely with manual settings? I have explored it a bit and i was able to trigger it without mounting it on the camera by using the pop-up flash but i don't want the light from the pop-up flash in my image. Is there a way i can use the TT685 as an off- camera at the desired power and without using the pop-up flash? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi! I just bought this so I'm no expert but I got a flash trigger (Godox X1T-C) that attaches to the camera which triggers the flash when the you hit the shutter button.

As justineeyseda explained, you need a transmitter to control the flash when it's off-camera. You could use the X1T, X2T or XPro triggers.
