It has been quite some time since I had last fired up my server. A few months ago I had recorded a video where I had to shut it down. All because I had to up and move to a new location. With getting back into things, I am now setting my server back up to cover more and more labs. I enjoy getting into detail, learning new things and discussing this with others.
In this video I cover the steps I use in order to make a copy of my virtual machines on the ESXI free license. With the free license you do not have the option to make clones and make templates. This becomes useful when you are constantly spinning up new machines for different labs. I do plan to use docker for this as well but sometimes having a full VM is necessary to get the lab in motion.
