In this video, I will show you how to set up the SAM Broadcaster Encoder. Your SAM Encoder allows you to connect to your SHOUTcast Stream Provider who will stream your music or other content out over the Internet. This is a very important setting.
The SAM Broadcaster a software compression/decompression algorithm that converts the MP3s you play in SAM Broadcaster into a format that can be sent out over the Internet and played on any digital audio device that is capable of reading the MP3 format. You do not really have to know all of the technical details, however. You just want to be able to set up your SAM Broadcaster Encoder properly.
Note: In the video below, the SHOUTcast Stream Host Provider is “Listen2MyRadio.” They offer free SHOUTcast accounts. A word of caution: The price of “free” comes with a cost. That cost could be unreliability, customer service and ads ran over your stream. I do not recommend using free services. But you might want to get one just to experiment with it in your SAM Broadcaster. I use Listen2MyRadio for making instructional videos on SAM Broadcaster. Conceivably, you could start an Internet radio station with a free SHOUTcast provider. Just be forewarned. They are not the way to go if you go professional.
