What absolute exquisite beauty Seve brought to this ancient game. I grew up in St Andrews from my teenage years, with my dad obsessed with golf, so I remember my dad going on about Ballesteros; and in the end as an adult I moved to Santander, just across the bay from Pedrena where Ballesteros came from, donde nacio este talento eterno y mundial del golf. Que orgulloso y que contento estoy vivir aqui ahora, donde the airport se calleth the airoport of Seve Ballesteros, often I remember that. What a legend is now missed in the world, but forever remembered, from the bay of Santander to the West Sands in St Andrews, and what an incomparable talent he brought to the ancient game.

It's when I started watching golf, Palmer and Player were a bit before but I remember watching the others vividly. I still watch golf but it no longer means as much to me. Woods and McIlroy are memorable but the current crop are pretty forgettable to be honest.

Definitely a great time for golf. The Americans got some competition. It was the Belfry next time when Europe prevailed. One name you missed off the list is Sandy Lyle. I was 13 at the time and my late father took me to the championship. Emotional looking back.

Great to watch, the crowds were huge, super golf, and shows alot that these guys back then could really play. There is something about watching this thats sad, seve gone to golfs heavan, and it may just be me but this feels so much more pure golf. Nowadays the amounts of money are rediculous. There is just something about these years. Great video by the way. Peter allis away also. His commentary was a style all his own. Greats of the game sorely missed.

@Poet of the Piano: No, we’re just not all blinkered nostalgic idiots. I’m 43 and fell in love with golf in 1985. Golf has always been great, with fantastic players then and now. Stop living in the past, and try to appreciate the old days without feeling the need to simultaneously trash the modern era. It’s so lazy & predictable.

Okay, this is an extremely small gripe, but I couldn't help but notice at 4:28 instead of putting a 1 and a 0 in the two separate columns they've provided, they just stuck a 10 in the second column, and that's putting me on tilt for some reason. .....That aside, it's great to watch another Open from St. Andrews, and of course the wizardry of Seve is good for all occasions.

You really should take the winner out of the title. The added suspense would send the view of all your Open documentaries through the roof. Just include the names of the top 20 guys for video indexing #. I must admit however, that I'm very pleased with how far greenskeeping has come since the 80's.
