SEVEN EMU STATION , as we continue our trip across the GULF of CARPENTARIA we head into Seven Emu Station, a working organic cattle property in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the Northern Territory. The property covers over 4300 square kilometres with 55km of coastal frontage and 50km of frontage onto the Robinson and Calvert Rivers . The station also contains part of the Pungalina - Seven Emu Australian Wilderness Conservancy sanctuary.
This is remote camping at is very best , we paid $40 a night and camped high up on the cliffs overlooking the Robinson River . Our camp site had running water and a flushing toilet . The station also sells FUEL and ICE not forgetting to mention the shop that sells BUSH TEA and BUSH MEDICINE .
In this episode we spent a week exploring this beautiful slice of paradise .
We leave the caravan and roll out the swag for a couple of nights and head 30km down the river , in goes the TINNY for a few days of ripper fishing closer to the mouth of the river . We find a little honey hole and finally land a few decent size BARRAMUNDI , but not before getting busted off many times.
This is certainly one to put on your list to visit , we will definitely be coming back again when we are back this way .
