Seven station closedown from 1979 transferred from Philips VCR LP videocassette. Features the Seven ID followed by an advert slide for 3DB radio followed by colour bars.
The ID that is used in this closedown was "You're On Seven", according to Wikipedia It was used in Melbourne and Adelaide only. As far as I know Sydney had "Seven's Reaching for The Stars", Brisbane had "Seven Fever" (used to celebrate 20 Years of BTQ7) and Perth might as well had it's standard "Color Machine" ID.
Now there's a line-up of tomorrows viewing I would love to see again. Love the station open time, 10am 'Romper Room'! Hmm, no National Anthem like we had in Sydney, interesting. I had only been in the industry 2 years at this point, hmm time...
ATN-7 had Tommy Leonetti singing "My City of Sydney" (best known for a 1979 cover by XL Capris), before being replaced by animation from Debbie Glasser (which was used concurrently in the early-1980s). But I'm not sure what BTQ-7 had for their signoff? (not much from the Brisbane station can be found from around that era, and still most are afraid of putting such material on out of fear of copyright)
Does anyone remember the video clip for Channel 7 closedown done with Gladys Knight singing "I't's Time To Go Now?" I used to watch Tandarra on Sunday nights and suffer through Bob Santamaria just to see it. Be late 70s or early 80s i think.
