I advocate correct weaning. A huge variety of veg, fruit, pulses & meat purees. Prepared in bulk, once a month, portion into ice cube trays, freeze. Then, you can simply pop out the cube portions you want! Takes a few minutes to defrost, warm & serve. None of my 3 children were ever "selective" eaters & eat everything now.
So, glad I found your channel, I've done this with my kids, now healthy adults. All 3 eat everything, nutrition educated & know how to cook! I'm now trying to advise someone, but, I always get the exact same excuses from a certain parent & their children that you talk about. Told that I'm strict! 😅 Going to refer them to your channel & get them your book!
This video is very helpful for me to put things into perspective. I am selective eater, my husband is also. So naturally, our child is too. I have to „hide“ vegetables into cream soup to eat it myself. In my family, this is generational baggage we carry. My mum has been catering me as a child to eat „at least something“. Now I do the same for my child. I must work on myself. We do have family meals, and insist to eat together. But I have been worried when my son takes just a few bites that he is not taking enough food. When he was 1 year old, he was eating everything. Then he started eliminating one by one and now he eats no fruit and no vegetables at all. Only bread, cheese, pasta…. essentially the beige food.
Thanks so much Dr! I always struggle with my mom not my child 😂 I don’t really get frustrated if my child doesn’t want to eat dinner but my mom does. My baby still breastfeeds at 18 months and I don’t have an issue with that. I better have her drink my milk if she wants over dinner and have a chaotic night.
What a great video!! I have a question do they all have to eat the same food at the table? I am vegetarian but I want my kids to decide about that when they grow up so I cook separate meals 😣 Thank you!
I couldn't look after my child from his 6th month age to 13 th months ... Now he is weak and picky when it comes to eating what should i do? Can i work on that gap
Unfortunately, my daughter sleeps great. But if she skips dinner she will wake up in the middle of the night saying eat eat. How should i help with that?
You have to stay strong mama and not give in. It will be rough for a couple of days. You got this. Taking back control can be a bit stressful but very doable
I just have one question: during cooking, if a child, who helps in préparation, wants to snack for exemple à carrot that he is peeling, is it ok or should we ask to wait until the dinner?
