Sher Shah Suri is The Lion King because he one day killed a Sher or tiger single- handed.Sher Shah was the first, among the Muslim rulers to recognize the fact that India was the land of the Hindus and the Muslims alike and he tried his best to reconcile the two elements as far as possible. He extended equal treatment to all sections of his subjects irrespective of the faith they professed. Some of the most responsible officials, civil and military, were recruited from among the Hindus. He constructed the famous Grand Trunk Road running from Bengal to Punjab, and planted trees and established resting places along the roads. Sher Shah reformed the existing currency and issued a new type of silver coins, called tonka, on which he caused his name to be engraved in Persian and Hindi scripts. Sher Shah introduced a system of horse-posts or mail service carried by the horses. Sher Shah was the first Muslim ruler who got the whole of the land measured and fixed the land-tax on it on just and fair principles. Sher Shah Suri was also a reason of concern for the Rajputs who also suffered defeats and disgrace in hands of this great warrior.
Indian Muslims are so lucky, their country is full of wonderful Islamic heritage. I wish we Bangladeshis had this much Islamic heritage, but unfortunately the Islamic architectural heritage of Bangladesh is poor. Seems like all the muslim rulers left Bangladesh without magnificent monuments :(
Well brother I am also from Bangladesh. You are wrong. Most of the Bengal sultanate time's structures are in Gour and Pandua.Even though this place had majority muslim population unfortunately they became part of West bengal. Gour and pandua is very close to India and Bangladesh border near Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj
