My son Christopher put this song as a ring tone on my phone and didn't realize I would be listening to this beautiful song Angel's son after my son Christopher passed away at home at age 36. 10 days sick and gone, without saying goodbye or love you or hear him say anything. I have listened to this song many times with tears falling down my face. I have blessed assurance Chris' spirit is alive with Abba Father and our Lord Jesus . Christ. Thank you Sevendust for your heart touching song. God bless all of you. ♥️
Hope you are feeling better. I lost my best friend to suicide 11 yrs ago. This is has, and always will continue to resonate within me. I miss him terribly, and this song brings all those emotions rushing back. I cannot help but weep. It's good therapy.
not only one of the best bands in the world, but also among the best live bands, and best individual musicians and songwriters. all of them together have created an intoxicating and super-powered force of rock that nobody could possibly stand up to
I think I've commented before, but rewatching this again was just fantastic. And I noticed that Lajon says, "Thank you, Mr. Letterman." :) Just struck me as being so polite, instead of, "Thanks Dave!" or "Yeah man."
Proof that a band who plays AWESOME more "hard" (or hardcore) music are also VERY musically talented when it comes to more acoustic music. Gives me chills--very impressive both musically and emotionally.
Lynn Strait was the lead singer of the band "Snot" they toured a lot with Sevendust in the late 90's. Lynn was killed in a car accident as soon as Snot was gaining popularity. Sevendust now has a new guitarist who was a former guitarist of "Snot" after the departure of their origianl Guitarist. He went on to form Dark new day.
25 years June 1st since my father died a month before my 9th birthday. This song has always been my go to, especially since it came out around the same time he died…now all the lyrics hit harder than before with having my own little girl. “I have a new life now She lives through you What can I do? Feel so alone now I pray for you We still love you”
I literally dont think I have heard a more powerful applause at the end of a musical performance on Letterman. There arent even words that can be summoned out of the spirit to describe how good this song really is
My Grandmother passed away yesterday and for the last twenty four hours, I havent felt anything but the weight of the world baring down on me. Sometimes, in order to keep from crying, you have to smile- and with music like this its a whole lot easier. I miss you Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ill like you for always and Ill love you forever!
Hot ……DAMN. Talk about tearing it up as a BAND. (Did I spell ‘rip it up right’ here???) This!! This here, (kids take notes), this is badass. Uplifting. Sentimental. Righteous. And everyone is putting their balls on the line showing us- each member of the band is wielding their instrument/vocal/emotion weapons. Because they were hurting when they made this for fallen bro. Respect.
that has to be the best live band set on a late night show I've ever heard. They sounded absolutely beautiful and I love how Paul joined in on the keyboards. Im betting many in the audience and watching at home that night who had never heard of Sevendust were buying a new cd the next day. I know if that was the first I had heard from them I would have become an instant fan.
Ive been a fan of 7D since the "Seasons" record. I finally after 8 years of being my number 1 favorite rock band, I got to see them live in Chicago on the Carnival of Madness tour. They played this song and it was amazing live. I remember before they played it, LJ announced that Clint is expecting a son.
I saw Sevendust twice last year at the Machine Shop in FLINT MICHIGAN. I have a drumstick that says "sevendust" on it that Morgan Rose threw into the crowd that i caught. They played with Nonpoint one of the times i saw them. Both times were fucking AMAZING.
definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever!!!! i love these guys so much! they can bring it heavy or touch every emotion u have ever felt all in the same show!
love the song my best friend of 36 years introduced me to this video and was suddenly taken, still takes me to that time, unforgettable memories... thank you for capturing our time.
I love how Passionate these guys are when they sing their music. I just saw them live in NH, and you can tell these guys love their music and performing it for us. I love these guys and finally got to meet Morgan, Clint and Lajon after the show. They are all awesome people!!! Can't wait until the next time they come so I can see them again! If you havent seen them live, PLEASE go see them. There is nothing that compares!
these guys are totally amazing. I've been on board with them since the first album. How they AREN'T the hugest thing in hard rock right now is beyond me.
...I have loved this song since it came out and remember tearing up watching the video with Lynn. This is the first time I heard this version, and again...I'm wiping my eyes as we speak.
God man this song makes me miss my best friend Marc so much. He was murdered a few years ago trying to stop some guys from stealing his girlfriends car. Left behind two great kids, family and some dear friends.
i was fortunate enought to see these guys live a few years back...sadly they did not play this song as it is one of my all time favs. thanks for posting...damn good music!
This song was made for the vocalist of SNOT, Lynn Strait... I also sing this song to my bandmate who died because kidney disease( I forgot the name) RIP Carlo/Caloy...
Where is the LOVE button?? This band is totally amazing and actually sounds equally awesome live! Unlike alot of crap artists nowadays! F Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga and all that fake tween bull!!!
