Darling mv is just beautiful. 35:47 actually what they are trying to show here is when Vernon pull Joshua's hand with the flower, the flower have a shadow while there's no any shadow of Joshua's hand. In the beginning of the video too when they show Vernon was lying under the sun, he try to block the sunlight using his hand, but then he realized he doesn't have shadow either. And as u can see, from time to time, the shadow starting to appear and growing. I remember reading an explanation from a carat about the storyline in this video when it came out, but I forgot the storyline tho😂 however it was like a teaser for their face the sun album actually because darling was a pre-release single before their HOT comeback. So it somehow related with the storyline.

Darl+ing is a pre-release to Hot and was the first song off of the Face the Sun album!! it’s one of Seventeen’s most cohesive and thematic album in my opinion, they absolutely killed it with this one. when you guys listen to it in full you’ll understand exactly what i mean. throughout the MV they reference/hint at multiple of the bsides in the album! Face the Sun, YOU’LL ALWAYS BE LOVED. Ready to Love is such a bop and i don’t know why people gave it so much hate. i think the backlash was more so bc it was Seventeen’s very first comeback after Pledis being acquired by HYBE. Bang PD was also a producer on the song so i think everyone was afraid that bc of this, Seventeen would lose their signature Seventeen touch. But tbh they proved them wrong. it’s still VERY much SVT and is still one of my favorite title tracks from them!! also, the choreo still stands as my all time favorite choreos. picking a bias in SVT is already hard but predicting who other people bias is a whole different ball game LOL. i’m gonna have to say Mingyu, DK, Coups are in Bri’s bias line and Wonwoo, Seungkwan, and Woozi are in Tori’s ????? i’m probably 100% off lol but atleast i tried. 😂😂 i’m OT13 all the way but i’m almost positive my top 3 would be Coups, Seungkwan, Mingyu.

First, you know a video is AMAZING when English speakers watch it twice (once with lyrics) and they don't realize that the whole song is in English!!!! Also, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who sometimes misses the connections and storytelling between MVs. Darling has a lot of hidden messages - them "Facing the Sun" - you've definitely seen that, them turning to ash, and definitely the play with shadows is also pretty cool. I don't think you caught the fact that they did not have shadows when they were together. I really love the discovery of something new everytime I rewatch it.
you're actually very on point with a lot of things with the Darling MV. It's actually set before the HOT MV so what you see in the end is their HOT "personas". Like you've said it's a lot of like Lost Boys theme and Growing Pains. Like they were in a utopian world previously where time does not move and they don't have shadows and it's all colorful and happy but then time moved (they grew up) and their world kinda turned upside down and they had to go through hardships and became bruised etc. I have a lot more to say because Darling really is very interesting and then going to Hot and then you have the album Face The Sun. it's all very cohesive and tells a huge story

Darl+ing was actually kind of the song that got me into the diamond life... it was the start. I saw this and it was so beautiful and the dialing/darling part kept getting stuck in my head - and then HOT came out next. And I was like waitwaitwait, this is the same group???? Whaaaaaaat? And then they did Killing Voice and I loved all the songs and I was off. But Darl+ing was really the EARLY beginning.... and yeah - so you know how it kinda ends cause the next thing that happens is they're in the desert, facing the sun, being hot. HAHAHA But READY TO LOVE is so good, too - I think you would love watching the genius version they did, the arrangement is SO COOL. But anyway - idk. Here's the thing about biases...is that I initially 3 and then it went to 4 and then I had 4 wreckers...but at this point there is a constant rotation of who is my bias because they all have managed to skip to the top of the line.

I loved your reaction but am not sure who your biases are at this point. Also, Woozi revealed in an interview that the reason behind the "+" in darl+ing is because as this song is written for carats and he wanted to emphasize that the process of loving carats is continuous ( that is why the 'ing' as in continuous tense ). They are still loving carats and will never stop loving them. I hope I explained it right because these are not his exact words but something along these lines. If someone wants to correct me, please do.
