Several killed in hotel siege in Somalia’s Mogadishu

The armed group Al Shabab has claimed responsibility for a night-time attack on a beachside hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Police say at least 9 people were killed and 21 wounded.
Al Jazeera’s Raheela Mahomed reports.

I hope Somalia finds peace. I have been hearing bad news for the last 30 years but I heard it's getting better over there the last few years. Al-shabab killed three Somali civilians. They attacked a restaurant because too weak to attack a government building. Al-shabab lost the war on the battle field and is now just killing random civilians wherever they can.

Everything Al Shabaab does is done with the blessing of the Somali central government. All the weapons they receive come through the Mogadishu seaport. All of Somalia knows that money and military will make the situation worse. And those people in the central government need to keep the Boogeyman alive so they can benefit from it.

Wow, Somalia seems like such a great place to be!🤩 Especially Mogadishu! I think I’ll move myself and my family there. I’m sure they’re very friendly towards foreigners, and people in general! (Btw, my 6 year old is transgender, and my wife is actually a dude [I mean, technically.. tbh, I’m still not totally sure how it works 🤷‍♂️] but I’m sure they’ll be very accepting and understanding!!! 🤓😋😛😄 after all, WHY wouldn’t they???
