How Modern Pirates Are Still a Threat in The Coast of Africa | Business Documentary from 2016
Pirate Hunting - Meet the Counter-Piracy Task Force: • Pirate Hunting: Meet t...
They attack drilling platforms on powerful speedboats, abducting foreign nationals to later exchange for ransoms. In 2015, there were 73 of these attacks, resulting in 62 abductions. They are the modern pirates. They kidnap transform kidnapping into business and see themselves as Robin Hood figures, targeting the oil companies who they accuse of plundering the country’s natural resources without giving anything back. In this documentary, we tracked the soldiers, sailors and pirates for several months, accompanying them on raids to reveal how they operate.

I would like to see you hiring in your company people who can't read, can't write and the only thing what they done in there life is fishing - would you do that ? It's easy to sit in your comfy chair by the screen and raise your self esteem by playing on a virtue note - self righteous people who pass homeless in there own towns without even noticing them. Responsibility for educating it's society lies in the government of given country, not in foreign companies and responsibility for a decent and fair government lies in it's people. This company would be gone from there and still for those villagers nothing would change. I don't want to protect huge companies because they are vicious, soulless and people who run these companies very often are psychopaths who are to blame in big part BUT, they haven't grow on there own, something if fuelling them and supporting it's existence in the form and shape as we know now, and guess who that is ? ... World is not a fairytale and if you want to change something start from yourself and those around you.

@@slawek6302 i mean, starting off it would be smart to hire people who can read write and speak english, but invest into the community you are ruining, like seriously. if these companies would invest into these communities, those people would be able to speak english, read and write better, and be more educated, and you would see a lot more of Africa being safer, but they keep on hiring inside of America, or countries that they aren’t ruining. If the company was gone from there, then this country would be able to capitalize off of their own natural resources, of course this would take many years because they don’t have the same equipment as the country, but eventually this country can do the same thing i was talking about, investing into their people. you are defending these countries, there are such easy fixes but i guess you couldn’t see that. and often times, these countries’s governments are heavily influenced and in a way ran by these big companies, politicians or presidents get the money, and that’s all that they care about, but if the company were to say “we give you this money and keep on giving you money, you make schools so we can hire your people, or we will pay you less.” obviously in more formal matters, but that’s the general basis of it.

The way he was so cautious and so aggressive but at the same time was still very obviously quite curious and seemed like he wanted to talk. I wasn’t surprised when he managed to organise a second meeting. Something that I did find quite amazing though is how much the leader seemed to calm down and show what I think to be more his real self rather than the person he is “at work” after he was eventually sat down opposite the ‘journalist’ and had answered a few questions. He seemed to loosen up completely when he started talking almost like he wanted to, I believe that is why I got the feeling he wanted to talk the first time they arranged a meeting but he let his cautiousness and paranoia get the better of him
