Sew a Self-Lining Bag from ONE PIECE of Fabric!

Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back to the channel!
Today I'm making a bag from one piece of fabric that LINES ITSELF! No separate liner to make and then fit into the bag. One cut, a couple of folds, and it's done!
You'll need:
29" of folded fabric from the bolt (44" fabric folded to 22" wide)
Matching Thread
Sewing Machine
Cutting tools (rotary cutter or scissors)
Pins or clips
This video shows my first time making this bag, so the 28 minute run time would come down if I made this bag multiple times. I made a second bag off-camera and it took less than 20 minutes start to finish.

What a ridiculously easy way to get those half-inch folds to be nice & even. Why didn't I think of that? This is a great project. I think I'd put a bit of interfacing on the wrong side of the fabric first, as I prefer a bit more body to my bags.

Love this sewing secret!! It looks like it's so much easier than trying to measure with a ruler and trying to make sure you keep it straight. This is a great tip that I will definitely be using.Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Tim 😊 Good idea. I am going to make some. I am also going to try one with boxed bottom, then...wait for it...put a double stitch from top to bottom. Ta-Da...tap shoe bags for my tap buddies. Separating the shoes guards against the taps messing up the leather on the shoes. I may have to put the handle(s) farther apart. 🤔😊

That’s very kind of you to say! Of course, I made some mistakes but, to me, that’s part of the process and my mistakes - which are all genuine, by the way - show that I’m not perfect and that it’s okay to make them and then find solutions.
