Stunning and thank you! I'm a little afraid of V necks 😅 so I usually just, instead of a neckband, create a front & back facing and turn the whole thing to the inside. This is very helpful. Oh and please check out Tianas new Ethel top. It's gorge 🥰
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
Yes, you'll get a very nice "v" using a facing ... it's a good workaround when a pattern calls for binding. Saw the new Tiana pattern this morning -- very nice 😉

Hi. Fabulous dress. Great video. Can you tell me why you use a walking foot. I assume it has to do with the fabric. I use that foot when I am sewing a quilt. Thank you.
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
Hi! I use a walking foot with some knits, especially ones with a lot of stretch or slinkiness - it feeds the material evenly and prevents waviness and skipped stitches.

Great dress. I looked at the instructions and didn't see the cup size. Do you know if it's a B or C cup.
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
Good question - I’m a B cup and there is extra room. 😃

Hi. I have a question, (as usual 😂), do you think if i use the sleeves of DEBRA empire waist dress from Tiana's closet, and put it to this dress would work 🤔?. I am trying to mix and match options. (I learned that from you 😊 ).
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
Hi! You would have to print both patterns and compare the top of the sleeve pattern to the armhole of the bodice and adjust if needed.
@MS-mr4li
@MS-mr4li Месяц назад
@Sew-Happy Ok, so i will print the top parts and the sleeve first, just in case it won't work. (In that case i will save paper, time, and disappointment 😅). Thanks for the reply.

I am having trouble with a dress pattern. I made a mock-up and the bodice was about 2 inches too small. I added some panels to make it bigger, but it still wouldn't close. After fidgeting with it a bit I think it is because I needed to shorten the waistline. I pinned it shorter and it worked, but how do I transfer that to the pattern? I had to walk away from it. Is there a better way to know which size to cut? Tutorial maybe?
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
I would start by making sure you are cutting the size according to the pattern info's finished measurements. If you fall between sizes in a few columns, you will have to blend between sizes for a perfect fit. For example, I am a size 8 for tops and size 10 for bottoms, so I have to blend between bust and hip for some dress patterns.
@aot9644
@aot9644 Месяц назад
@@Sew-Happy Thank you for your response. It is a 1990's pattern and the only measurement it has is a 'finished back from base of neck.'
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
Maybe, then, measure the pattern pieces themselves (i.e. side seam to side seam for bust and hips) and then compare them to your own measurements to find the right size.
@Sew-Happy
@Sew-Happy Месяц назад
You'll have to guesstimate the amount of ease to consider, just judging by the fit displayed in the cover photo.
@aot9644
@aot9644 Месяц назад
@@Sew-Happy I'll try that. Thank you

Thanks. This one was about 2 yards. 💕
