Hi friends! I had quite the time figuring out this project, but I do really love it! I spent $3.99 on each fabric at the thrift store, $1 on trim from the floral section of Dollar Tree, and $1.99 on the zipper from Joann (after coupon) for a total of about $11 spent on making this dress!
If you would like to make it yourself you can find the pattern on Mood’s website here:

Hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much! I love that mood gives us free patterns, but the instructions are quite spare, so this helped me understand the whole sleeves and arm thing 😅 Cant wait to sew this later🙌🏻

Agreed! I love the patterns themselves but a lot of the times the instructions aren’t quite the same quality! I’m glad this helped! Can’t wait to see your dress!

Mood has a reputation when it comes to instructions 😁 I guess time is money and a company can only do so much for free. Great work 👍🏼

Thank you! Yes, I’ve tried a few of their patterns now and the instructions always baffle me, but I’m so appreciative for free patterns and I love the new ones they’ve come up with lately!

The dress is quite cute. Shush, about the sleeves - they look good. Thank You! I had No idea that Mood did free patterns. I love your trick with the ruler for transferring the dart lines to the bodice. I'll have to remember that one (me and darts are still getting to know each other, so to speak) - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown

Thank you! I do quite like most of the patterns they have, too! I’ve made a couple and while the directions aren’t always clear the pattern pieces themselves are fine. I hope you’re able to figure out your darts! I was taught that trick in a tailor’s shop and it’s been very helpful!

This is super helpful! I just downloaded the pattern because I have a Bridgerton themed tea later this month. I feel much better prepared to make the dress and to make the adjustments needed.

@@KaityBower it turned out great! I ended up having to finish it while sick with Covid the week before the tea, so I was worried. But managed to pull it out. I’ll send you a picture on Instagram bc it won’t let me here.

I love the dress you have on. I wish they still made clothes like that.

Thank you! A few “slow fashion” brands will make things like this! A smaller market, though!

I think I would have gathered the over sleeve to the same length as the under sleeve. Do the double turn hem on the under sleeve. Attach the two sleeves together at the gathering point while flat. Then treat both as one flat lining them together at the side seams and at the gathered edges at the top inserting it into the arm scythe.

I actually do think it’s the patterns fault because I did the exact same thing 😩 there’s no direction or the pattern saying not to cut out that triangle piece on the bodice. I re did it without cutting it out and the dart came out so much nicer. But thank you for this video, it really helped!

Also, how much fabric do you need in total for this pattern? Because I don't measure in yards and I can't seem to figure it out 😅

I wish I could say for sure, but I can’t! I used a curtain😂 while I was thrifting it I just wrapped it in a tube around my body and checked if there would be enough width for gathers in the skirt, and that it was a little more than the length I would want, plus some extra for the sleeves.

The sleeves really confused the heck out of me too! 😫🥴

I know! They’re so cute if you can figure something out, but it’s definitely not an easy task!

I am just now seeing the front bodice need to be cut on the fold 🤦‍♀I've been staring at this friggin pattern for too long. But not to worry, a middle seam will not be the end of me.

The days the patterns just refuse to make sense like that drive me up a wall! I would love to see how it turns out! 🥰

Mood has NO seamallowance. You cut it to small

Each pattern is made by a different person, so they differ based on who made them! According to the instructions, this pattern has 1/2” seam allowances. Also, it fit. So even if there hadn’t been allowance added everything worked out fine. :)
