Hi friends! I hope you enjoyed today's video 😊 One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that I DEFINITELY plan to use double-sided clothing tape along the top of the bust line when I wear this out to prevent showing more skin than I'd like to! Hope this is helpful!

Once you get a serger, you’ll say, “How did I ever sew without this?!” 😅 You’ll love it! It’ll make a big difference on your finishing of inside hems and I think it make my sewing go faster. Good luck!

Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I actually recently got a serger (since filming this video) and you are SO right! 🤣 I bought it for a specific project I will need it for. I already love it! I will make sure to post about it soon 😊

The final product turned out lovely! Self-lining was a great idea. And too bad about the sizing (4 inches of ease seems nuts for a garment like this), but the fit adjustments you made worked out really well. The neckline is so flattering on you but yeah, also, interfacing the bust pieces for just a little extra stability + security in that area was definitely the right choice LOL.

Thank you so much! Yes, I agree the ease seemed quite unbelievable. Glad I did the interfacing I did, and I will definitely be using double-sided clothing tape to help keep things secure and in place!

Thanks for linking my review video, I hope it was helpful to your process! 😊❤️ Yours turned out beautifully! I love the fabric you chose. This is a tough one to fit haha I’m glad you were able to wear it with just one tie at the bust, it looks so nice that way! Nice to see someone else’s experience with it, thanks for sharing! 😊

Your video was so helpful for me when I was starting this project, thanks for sharing your review of the pattern! I agree the bust fit is so challenging - I think I will just get away with it if I wear double sided clothing tape 😂 I love the fabric you chose, I think its interesting that we used such different fabrics and both dresses turned out wonderfully 🤩

Great job! I recently made this dress too and had a similar review! I feel very validated that the bust didn’t fit quite right (the bottom bust seam definitely rides up and sits funny and very little support). I love the dress itself (yours & mine) but I will tweak the pattern next time. Thank you for such a thorough video! It was a delight to watch. Also, a serger is a game changer for finishing seams and sewing activewear/swimwear. Facebook marketplace can be your best bet for finding a reasonably priced one :)

It is super interesting to hear your review of the pattern! I definitely thing something is not quite right with the bust - but I agree that I love the look of the final dress and there is so much potential! Also, you are so right! I may or may not have gotten a serger recently...🤫🤣I will make sure to post about it soon! Thanks for watching! 😊

Okay I just made this and I feel like the size 12 is smaller than the measurements listed, but I agree on lengthening the straps for the bust area the sit lower. I did just get some nicer fabric to hopefully make all needed adjustments on the 2nd round with this pattern!

That is so interesting! I hope you have success with your second version! 😊

I have an old vest pattern that calls for it to be sewn, and turned right side out the same as this dress. I only use this pattern rarely, so every time I make it it’s a bit challenging.

Oh interesting, I bet that would be a great technique if you can't find a sherpa-backed faux suede! Thanks for watching 😊

the shoulders make me weak 😱👩‍🔧 I was also impressed by the turtle neck and sweater combo, it really is a nice piece to have, esp. the pattern and how it goes so nicely with any color

Ooh great idea! I don't have any corduroy in my stash right now, but I will have to add that to my list of ideas!
