Oh Alla, the curtain are beautiful, you did a great job! It touched my heart seeing your Mom reading aloud, and taking care of Cherie!! And Sergi bringing you a lovely snack!❣❣❣
These are “the good old days.” When you look back on your mama’s visit you will remember her sweet voice reading aloud to you and Cherie. That dog! She is as sweet a human companion as I have known. She accepts every situation and finds her place among you. Sergi will remember your using this beautiful new gift machine to create a perfect bedroom for you both to enjoy. I love the curtains as they are, but you could still embellish in many ways. I still have my first sewing machine that was my grandmother’s. It is a Singer foot treadle from 1904. She cut off the drawers of the cabinet so it would fit into a tiny room in the 1940’s. It is the best. But I do have a new one Clint bought me when our first daughter was born. I’ve made many curtains since then. You will learn how to thread and wind bobbins very quickly. The fabrics are truly made for each other. That new satin weave is exquisite. Hugs to your darling mama. The scene of you two sewing and reading in the kitchen and Cherie loving every minute will stay in my heart. ❤️
I started sewing on an old Singer treadle machine and when I got a new electric sewing machine it freaked me out. I spent hours on it till I figured it out and really quite liked it. Yes, perfect on a rainy day. How sweet Mum reading out loud ❤ Your Curtains are perfect the fabrics are lovely together 🤩
Hi Alla, the finished bedroom looks fabulous, all the colours and patterns work so well together, even Cherie matches the colour scheme. Can’t wait to see the next bedroom xx
Bless your Mum she is a honey and I love how she is reading to you while you sew. Even Cherie is being spoilt and just loves the love she gives her. Well done your garden is looking amazing.
Hi Allan, patience with your sewing machine in time it will be your best friend.the cotton stick I think pulls up to make it taller, also you will find that the bobbin has a tiny hole in the top to put your cotton so when you wind it it doesn't come undone,Sergio has got you a wonderful present he's a great husband
EXQUISITE!!!! A beautiful rainy afternoon on the lake,...... your mom reading, you creating and Sergei taking care of you both ❤ The valance may help to connect both sides of the curtains and really create a nice framed, cozy backdrop, would be sure to gather the fabric of the valance for some fullness...
My mum did the same and bought me a fancy sewing machine. I learnt to sew on a treadle machine so the new one doesn’t get used much 😊 can’t work out the tension The curtains are lovely just as they are.
It is beautiful Alla, i hope you ignored negative comments because what you and Sergio have done is absolutely amazing. I totally enjoy watching your channel. Don't forget to have fun along the way. Enjoy your visit with your beautiful mum❤
I chuckled when I saw the title of your video, a canapé is an appetiser and the thought if you sewing bite size pieces of food was amusing. The word you should have used was canopy . The curtains and your scarf are lovely 😍
So good that your Mum was reading aloud for you. It's fascinating that all through the Roman period everyone who could read, did so aloud. Not until AD400 when a Monk, Ambrose, was seen reading without speaking. Which was astonishing. Now we see reading aloud as the rarity. But talking books are changing that too.
The bedroom is a triumph. You've worked very hard. We hope you have some time to put your feet up and thoroughly enjoy the space. By the way, Cherie is living OUR best life! Ci e piaciuto ascoltare la tua Mama leggere 🙏🏿
The canopy is fantastic. It doesn’t need a thing❤ You can learn a lot about your machine on RU-vid. Mine came with so many feet, I had no idea what they were for.
I hope your Mom gets to visit for a long while. She is so.helpful and sweet. I had my Mom until she was 100 such a blessing. You are such a hard worker, Inspires me to get moving more.
The bed curtains are lovely. The crown does need more fabric across the top. You can use your artist eye to see it needs “weight” at the top to balance the whole look. (Doesn’t need to be too long.) I like to read in bed and the little lights would drive me mad. But as I looked at them in place, and because you love them, they are the right choice!
The canopy is very nice. I would put a middle piece with edge that mimics lines of headboard upside-down with fringe or pom poms. Also, i think taller lamps would frame the bed better. The little ones seem to get lost on the end tables. The shades of larger lamps can have same fringe or pom poms from canopy on edge of shades to tie it all together. You can also hang a picture with a braided cord in the middle of the canopy underneath the middle piece to make it richer looking. Just some ideas thrown your way.
What an elegant bedroom well done so rich like in a catalog Sherry is having a great time with your Mum and you must enjoy her these past few days sharing so lovely time on the lake your new sewing machine very nice and important for your work now I like the curtains background what a nice color Alla see you bye
Alla para que el dosel quede bonito la parte de arriba debería ser media circunferencia me refiero a la madera de arriba , lo podría hacer Sergi, así las cortinas del dosel quedarian mas bonitas.
Adding the valance of the same fabric (if you have any leftover material) to the modified bed crown will add even more coziness…..just be sure you double the length to achieve the fullness from one side of the wooden top to the other side. Great to see mother and daughter working on this great project together!💕
Hi Alla & Sergei, mama too ! great job sewing the drapes, they look great Alla 👌 I do think, they could look more amazing, if you pull them across the top a little more , then you’ll see the stripes more clearly 🥰
Absolutely perfect, the room looks amazing and lovely for your home in Italy. I always think it is great to doa project with someone else especially your mum. Best wishes to you both. Jenny
