I agree you are a ray of sunshine. You brighten everyone’s day. I love love love the cat fabric (how could anyone not) and that picture is a treasure. Beautifully painted. Never apologize for your tropical moments. They eventually happen to most of us. ❤️
Aww gosh, Linda, thank you! I meant to keep personal stuff off the channel but I’m veering into personal stuff quite a bit with this video. I am so appreciative of the heartfelt, kind replies!!💕
😊😁😀 HI HELLO VIV MOM IT IS YOUR PERSONALITY AND THE FACT THAT YOU SPEAK TO THE CAMERA AS THOUGH YOU ARE SPEAKING TO A PERSONAL FRIEND ..... US YOUR VIEWERS. PLEASE DON'T STOP Signing off Scott's wife Vickie 👩🎤
Fantastic daughter, wonderful cat and beautiful painting. Looking forward to the cute, cute dress you create from the kitty fabric. It will be wonderful. As for menopause.....when it ends, life is wonderful. Hang in there.
Hi Viv- I love your Zig. I have written to you before about my Mimi who always sews with me. She makes me think of God because she is always waiting to be with me, delights in my presence and loves me as much as anyone I know and never asks for much (except of course her dinner!). How wonderful is it to learn of love from these wonderful companions!
My Hubby says: You are still hot! It just comes in flashes! I embroidered this on ladies nightshirts for a Christmas fund raiser. Your sewing pal in Phoenix
I just turned 61 and the hot flashes were still killing me! In between, I was cold. This was going on all day! Acupuncture has really helped a lot! And the painting of Zig is a wonderful work of art....and a real treasure.
Yes - the cold aspect! I say I have two temperatures now: freezing and boiling. Talk about a busted temperature gauge!! Oh my. Interesting that acupuncture has helped. I’m so happy to hear that, Elizabeth. Rock on!😃
Viv your video brought a tear to my eye. Firstly what a great husband you have in Brad, adopting Zig with no question ,meeting you at the vets wow! Your daughter is very talented and used her gift to create an amazing gift and expression of her love for you. I think that you are a wonderful warm hearted woman and that you are truly blessed.I have loved your videos and thank Joy Bernhardt for her recommendation .Zig is absolutely stunning.xxx
Oh Eileen, this is a precious note. Thank you so much!! You are such a sweetheart to receive the video just as it was intended - to share some happiness and laughs. I’m so glad you’re here!💕
I'm with you on the menopause. I'm had perimenopause symptoms for about 10 years now. Mental and physical. It can be debilitating at times. Sure wish people talked about it more. Had know idea it could occur like this.
Hi tania, gosh I’m sorry for your suffering. I don’t think menopause should be a taboo subject (obviously) but I hope I’m not being obnoxious about it. It just drives me nuts. My doctor prescribed an antidepressant for the night sweats and it is helping quite a lot. I’m grateful for that, and any incidental mood lifting will be welcome as well.👍 Hang in there, we women have to be tough!!👊
I love watching your reviews and sewing tutorials. You are so natural and adorable. Keep being you. One day I will muster up the courage to cut the fabric that I bought to sew a simple Aline skirt.
You WILL find the courage and I know your skirt will be a success!! That’s what I’m wishing. And thank you, Peggy, for the sweetest note for me. I appreciate it very much!! You’ve given me such a lift.💕
Thank you so much for a very moving video. Love the cat drawing and painting of Zig. I feel we got to know you a bit more and thanks for your sewing videos.
@@vivmomsews4962 Hi there! no you did not behave that way! just be you! While I am writing to you I say a ling for vintage patterns you might be interested in: moon-child.net/wiki-has-released-over-83500-vintage-sewing-patterns-online-for-download/?fbclid=IwAR2GqQT1jSfH2nvTZbrBJEvSf-Nx5-UpG0h-wCiv2wkFOvvKUxbcivqqzh8 I hope this helps. Thanks for your kind words! Have a great week!
You should make the blouse from the pattern book that uses the cat fabric. And wear it with pride! The joy in sewing is wearing things that are special and unusual. The illustration of Zig is stunning! What a handsome and sweet cat. That painting is amazing! Thank you for sharing!! The hot flashes get better but never really go away. Especially when it’s humid. 😩
I love your "prison dress"! We like the same kind of fashion - comfortable and classic. Zig is a gorgeous boy, and thanks for sharing the portraits . Talented daughter! Oh, and I deal with the heat that begins at my core and spreads outward, out of nowhere! I'm trying to be graceful about it! LOL
Hi Jubee, you’re probably a heck of a lot more graceful about the heat than I am. I probably shouldn’t have launched this video with the way I behave in it, but I figure you all need to know what you’re dealing with! A loud, laughing woman who needs to work on calming down.🤣Thanks for complimenting Candace and Zig!💕
Awww, Zig is a handsome fella for sure. I too am a cat momof several rescues and they keep me laughing 😂 love your kitty fabric, think it would be a cute top with jeans 👖 Have a fun sewing weekend 🤗
Vivian, I love all your videos, but this by far brought a happy tear to my eyes because of the GREAT LOVE that is shown from your daughter & the love for your cat. Beautiful 🙂
Oh my, Zig is so beautiful and sweet to keep you company. Candace is an extremely talented artist. Those are family treasures for sure. I love your cropped jacket and the fabric you chose. 🌹
What an amazing artist your daughter is. You must be so proud. You are a ray of sunshine in the youtube world, thanks for sharing your sewing and your family with us. Donna
such a sweet story of how Zig found his forever home, should be children's book and you have the perfect illustrator. Those portraits are amazing, such a thoughtful mother's day surprise, lots of love in this family. Floral jacket is really pretty. You must make something in the cat fabric! I see it in a long tailed (get it) blouse with a cute black and white short vest with pink piping or some pink accent. The purple will be perfect in a duster, good for the weather highs and lows. You are loving and amazing woman! Hot looks great on you!
We have such similar tastes in patterns. I love the 60s patterns & wore many of then in college, way back then. I'm finding I need to revise my patterns to my 68 year old shape...bummer. So, since I quilt, a lot, you've shown me how to incorporate quilting cottons & batiks. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
What a sweetheart! How sweet of you to give him a home. I love Candace’s portrait of him, she is very talented. I love the ‘prison dress’ pattern, the kitty dress would be cute in that pattern.
What a beautiful cat! I love how he is your sewing companion. Love your channel! I get the biggest kick out of your fun comments. You make my day. You are such a great seamstress and you motivate me to get sewing on my own projects. Thanks Vivmom for making my day! Have a great weekend.
Hi Viv, Yea, I missed out on that Memo too.. beyond annoying isn’t it ! Wow, Candice is an Excellent Artist. Love both paintings. (I’m an Artist too). Love the jacket and blouse. I guess I’m full of Love today, lol. I’m sewing a quilt for my 87 year old father-in-law for Christmas 👍 Take care and Bless you, Chris-Raleigh NC
Oh Chris, what a fabulous gift for your FIL. Beautiful!! And you know what? This world needs more love. Be filled with it, because you’re making everyone’s life better.💕
Loved everything you had to say, but most especially the story of how your favourite kitty became a member of your family, how Zig Zag got his name, and then you shared the absolutely beautiful picture of Zig in your Sewing Room doing what he likes to do best. Such a precious work of love by your very talented and truly lovely daughter Candace. Best gift ever for Mother's Day. I've loved kittens and cats all my life and this is the first time I have not had one due to living circumstances. So, your story was perfect. I have one beautiful artist daughter too. :-) So fun to spend time watching your videos. I really appreciate all of the time, preparation, creativity, lessons and friendship you share. Best wishes to you and yours, Anita
Love the painting! FYI... menopause does come to an end, I too thought it would never end! I no longer get the hot flashes but I still do not sleep with a blanket in the winter
I had one - count it: ONE hot flash. But it was a doozy. I rushed to my husband, announced I was dying and off we raced to the Emergency Room. The doctor was quite amused and sent me shamefacedly back home. That was absolutely my one and only one menopause symptom. Don’t hate me.
@@olajordan9951 I did that too I thought I was having a heart attack lol. Wasn't I embarrassed. Ever since then whenever something new happens in my body I tell my grown daughters. My mom told me all about being a young woman but nothing on getting old. My girls will travel this road with me until it's their turn, then they can take their daughters with them. It's funny and fun at the same time.
I love Zig’s portrait in the sewing room! He is a gorgeous kitty! Also, my hot flashes, (or internal furnace), have been going on for 14 years! I’m so over it! Keep the videos coming. Love your humor, sewing style and knowledge!
You made me laugh, LadySusan! That “so over it” part is ringing true. Oh my yes. I guess I’m a babe in the woods clocking in at about 5 years with this nonsense. It’s good to laugh, though, and it’s also good to hear that others face (and win!) the same battle.👍So glad you love Zig’s portrait. Anyone who loves that is gold in my book.💕
Viv, without a doubt you are a hoot! Love your humor. Love your personality. Love your knowledge. You make me want to learn to sew all over again! Do I dare say, it's only been 40ish years??? I will keep watching you, learning about fabric and patterns and
Heck yes, you could start sewing again! The know-how would come cascading back to you, Paula, and you’d make some dynamite garments, I just know it. Thanks for your compliments!! I wondered if I were behaving a bit ridiculously in this video (yes) but am reassured by kind people like you. All the best as you contemplate a return to sewing. I say: jump in! The water’s fine!😃
Loved hearing the story of Zig Zag joined your family and has become your beloved Zig. He is beautiful! Candace's drawing and painting of him are perfect and precious, she is so very talented 🏆 Thank you for sharing what is near and dear to your heart, now he is our favourite online kitty. Just love him (and Candace) too 🤗
Your daughter is very talented. And so are you!. You share your thoughts and your creations with us so generously. I appreciate you because, as I believe you said, sewing can be a lonely pursuit. And you are good company!
Vivmom, you're the best. You make me smile and chuckle every time I sew your videos. That's not an easy feat-my life challenges get the best of me sometimes. I'm sooooo glad I found you!! You inspire me to get back into clothes sewing. Thank you, Thank you , thank you for being you and being so darling and comfortable in front of the camera!
You crack me up. You start with your pretty jacket then you get hot and off that comes and out comes a fan. I laughed and laughed. You see I’ve been having hot flashes for at least 15years. I never know there coming. I’ll turn into pure sweat. My husband always says you already have been through that. He doesn’t get it but who does. I love your cat. So beautiful. And your daughter is a superb artist. Wow. As always I love watching you. You have the very best personality. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Susan, what a wonderful message for me! So generous!! I’m telling you, it helps to know my “sisters in sweat” are battling it out just like I am. It’s either “misery loves company,” or “there’s strength in numbers.” Maybe both! We can will each other strength and offer comic relief. I have laughed at so many of these comments. Love you all!! And thank you for your very sweet compliments.💕
Loved your story of Zig! Just adorable! Love, love, love Candace's painting...she definitely inherited your creative talents..As for sewing, I've had a month in France with no machine so itching to get sewing again once I've caught up with laundry etc and can't make my mind up what to sew first...chambray dress, twist top, jeans or an idea for a cute round leather cross body bag I have floating around in my head...
Zig is quite charismatic and his intelligence just shines through his eyes. Candace did a great job on the painting - how clever and cute! You are so real and such a pleasure to watch. Thanks for your videos. I think there was a conspiracy among our women ancestors to keep all the "joys" of menopause a secret from the upcoming women for fear we would jump off cliffs or something to avoid the years of surprise combustion.
Oh Maria, I love this message.💕You’ve nailed Zig: he is quite possibly the most intelligent cat I’ve ever met. He honestly knows things before I say them!! And I love the conspiracy theory. We definitely might have headed for the cliffs if we’d known!! Maybe it’s a darn good thing we can’t know the future. I think God was spot-on with that!
I love, love watching your videos 🤗. Thank you for sharing your family stories. When you showed the painting your daughter made you for Mother’s Day, it almost made me cry, in a good way 😀. As far as the material with the cats, if you like it make yourself something. Look forward to seeing what you will make with it .
Love seeing your beautiful cat, Zig Zag! What a terrific story of how he came into your life! He’s a great mascot for your sewing room. That’s terrific!! I love cats and that cat fabric! And I can hardly wait to see what you decide to make from it. Enjoy sewing! I’m busy with Fall garments and decorating! Who am I kidding? It’s still in the mid-90’s here! Nothing at all like fall! 😂💖 but I know eventually it will arrive down south! Happy sewing, Viv!
I've been enjoying all your vids, the 60's dress, the topper challenge, the plans and makes but that Zig story and your daughter's gifts of the paintings, just wow! 😍😊💗! Your jacket is very pretty and your fabric today too. Can't wait for the duster and kitty shirtdress, top, whatever you make. Have a fab weekend!
Oh Viv you are a hoot! Love the purple sheer fabric, that is gorgeous. The cat fabric has its own personality and it will tell you what it wants to become. I loved your cat story and your painting. I was so afraid you were going to tell us Zig crossed the rainbow bridge. Phew!
Hi Diane! No, no, he’s still with me and stealing my heart, but omg I sometimes obsess about losing Zig. It’s like a character flaw - I can’t enjoy him because I think of losing him. I’m trying to work on this (while praying that he could live forever.) I have lost cherished pets in the past but nothing like this one. Life will go on. And you’re right about that crazy cat fabric: I’m waiting for it to speak. (Talk about creepy!!!)
Vivmom... you are such a breath of fresh air! I am so impressed at the talent in you and all your family! Zig looks so great in the painting and drawing! Such a great job by your daughter ! Don’t ever change... you are beautiful and blessed and we are blessed to get the chance to know you! 💕
Love this video! Your daughter has amazing talent! The picture is beautiful! Very thoughtful. So glad to see this video and share your laugh with the cat fabric. And yes, no one tells you that hot flashes last for years!
Oh my gosh as soon as I saw that cat fabric was it's the peeping Tom fabric then you said nightgown and I was laughing so hard I began to snort. My husband was just looking at me like nice, very nice. But really a nightgown out of peeping Tom fabric 🤣🤣🤣. I can't wait to see it. The painting is perfection and Candice did an amazing job. The colors and composition are all your favorite. Thank you so much for bring such joy and happiness to my life and please keep up the great job.
Dear Sliverleaf, you returned the joy of laughter right back to me with “peeping Tom” fabric!!😂It is just such a crazy thing - Candace came over last night and I got the fabric out again and she pronounced the cats sinister!! So her dislike has not changed. My dilemma continues to be what to make out of it. Maybe I should offer in a giveaway.🤷♀️
Dear Vivmom, I'm not sure what you should make with this fabric but what I do know is you should hold on to it because you always find away to make something fabulous out of fabric that most would run away from. You and Candice are very lucky to have each other and I have no doubt you will find awesome new fabric to make her something beautiful.
Your daughter is so talented...love the drawing and the painting. That kitty is adorable. Relating to your tropical moments...no apology needed. Thank you for another fun post.
Hi Viv, I like your jacket you are wearing & I like the cat fabric! Great story about your Zig..... I Love Cats! Your daughter is a wonderful artist. Looking forward to seeing your duster when finished. Take care & God Bless.
The love you have for your cat made me cry! We have a 17 year old cat that is just as precious. But, he has kidney disease, so we have to give him iv fluids every 2nd day. Candace is just as creative as her Mom!
Aww Michelle, you are a kind soul. Thank you for being moved by my story!💕 I’m sending well wishes to your kitty - he’s certainly in a loving home as you go to great lengths to keep him comfortable. They mean so much to us!! It’s great hearing from people who understand.
I enjoyed your video. I agree, your daughters artwork is nice. She is very talented. I am planning to complete my Ginger jeans this weekend coupled with an easy bodysuit and cardigan.
Bonjour Viviane, I understand you so much about your Cat, I have myself 2 lovely Cats.. I had had a one like Zig too ... and nice painting !, thank, bizzz, Sylvie
Thanks for sharing. Zig zag is a beautiful cat, sounds like he was dropped from heaven just for you and your family, and Candace is an awesome artist. Obviously, you have received confirmation from the universe that it's totally okay to use that cat fabric for a piece of clothing....LOL...
You always make me smile and laugh but this one I got tears when I saw Candace’s present to you! Thank you for sharing that it’s beautiful, she’s talented just like her Mom! Your sewing is always inspirational! Love that fabric can’t wait to see the duster!
You are so hilarious with your HOT FLASHES!!! I use to call them my TROPICAL SUMMER!!! It's like going to a hot tropical island but it's free....you don't have to pay for the airfare....LOL!!! I love your videos. I have been watching your videos for a few months now and I love every video!!! Candace is sooooo talented!!! The drawing & painting of your kitty is so professional!!!
Oh snap...cat fabric/story is adorable... everyone likes different fabric and that’s okay❣️ Best kind of sewing buddy...my cat slept on top of my machine bc I always left he light on and was warm. Lucky you to have such a loving and talented daughter.
Aww, how cute to think of your cat sleeping on top of your machine! They do the cutest things. Thanks for the kind words about Candace! I have to say I agree!💕
Hi from Australia. Love your videos. I've been sewing my own clothes since I was 11 yrs old and am now 68. You are funny, inspiring and love your cat Zig
Love your sweet kitty and your daughter is quite the artist, she did a great job with Zig's face and very thoughtful gift. I'll be sewing something with my new Brother serger, excited about that, never had one before. The flashes will pass but no one can understand a hotflash until they have them! Enjoyed the video.
Oh how I loved your story about Zig. The pencil drawing and painting is beautiful. We have a beautiful Maine Coon cat we named Juneau who has bonded so closely with my husband. I have tried so hard to win him over, I do all the same things with him as my husband does, but as soon as Eyan walks into the room, zoom, Juneau is all over him, and I am left. Breaks my heart.
Juneau may come around, Paula! I hope so. They do tend to choose their people, but there can be a little more room in the circle!! Love Maine Coons, I had one years ago named Barney. He contracted a virus that attacked his heart and we lost him before he turned 7.😭 Thank you for writing!
First of all, you have to make a shirt dress from the cat fabric! The faces peeking from behind the stripes is great! Do you know the joy you would bring to people especially toddlers when they would be standing behind you in a shopping line. Total smiles. Secondly, your daughter is very talented. How well she knows you that your loves are your sewing and Zig! Great listening!
Electric fans saved my life!! 😂 And I still use one for sleeping. Love your rescue story, I love all rescue stories, and I love your daughter’s artwork. And I love your posts, make me feel so good. You have a gift!
Eileen Lois I just got so accustomed to the airflow of a fan, my husband too, though he has always been warm natured. Anyway, every night we run a fan, and when we have to stay in a hotel I have to find a way to run the fan! It is not as much the heat as the airflow.
I love my fan at night. And the AC vent is high up in the wall so that the cold air sort of falls on me in bed. I’m telling you, Eileen, getting out of my bed is an uphill climb most days!! Thanks for your very sweet note. Makes my day!😃
Vivmom Sews I so agree. We lost power last week and I was terrified that I wouldn’t have my fan. I need the noise as much as the air. My daughter said to get a battery fan! I love her!!!
When you started to talk about Zig I started to cry. I just knew you were going to say he had crosses the rainbow bridge. So happy he is still with you 💕
Aww thank you, Kathy! I’m rather petrified of losing him, but I know that day will come. I am a believer so I trust that God will help me through, but oh the sadness. I wish Zig and all special pets could live forever!!💕
You have renewed my passion for sewing. Don’t know where to start first. My main problem is that I love so many different things. I love sewing clothes, quilting, crafts such as pot holders, crocheting, shadow embroidery, etc. But I’m about to start somewhere. I love your videos. Thanks so much. diff
I understand that overwhelmed feeling, Lynda, boy do I ever. Just choose something and start to cut. I find that once I’m invested in a project it just kind of takes off. Sew it to completion. The accomplishment feels good and orderly. It’s helped me. All the best!💕
What a beautiful Zig. My black and white cat likes to help when I sew by laying in front of the machine or on my pattern so he can get the attention instead. What a talented daughter you have both pictures are priceless. As far as the "Power Serge" I have more when I eat too many carbs. But I like sweets!!
Talent certainly runs in your family. Candace's work is amazing! A very special gift and a pretty special cat. Mr. Zig "zigged" when he should have "zagged" those many years ago. Lucky for him to end up on your doorstep. : ) You are good for the world, Viv.
Viv, I just LOVE that you aired your hot flash and didn't pause and re-shoot the whole thing! You are a treasure in this crazy world! I plan to cut out New Look 6374 this weekend in a baseball print cotton with gingham collar and yoke. I have not sewn much in 2019 because I've been working on a gigantic puzzle that my son gave me for Christmas, but I finished it last night and am going to sew!!
Zig is darling!!!! Candace captured him and your passion for sewing so perfectly. You ladies are Uber talented! I just love watching your channel, look forward to it. Thank you so much for being you! Amie :)
I have been working on Fitting for my daughters costume for over 2yrs. I have finally got it down so I am finalizing the dress (pilgrimage dress) for her classroom education. She is a History teacher and wears costumes to give visual lessons. Love your channel!
Great pic from your daughter ,,,love that cat fabric.... My little dachshund Fenway Frank, has such a high prey drive I could never have a kitty too!! My hot flashes lasted quite awhile but they will get better !!!!
Hi Viv, another great video, brought a wee tear to my eye when I saw the beautiful painting by Candice, what an amazing gift, reminds me of my beautiful cat Ziggy who had a lovely personality. Keep the sewing inspiration coming, please. XXX
You had a cat named Ziggy?! Oh my goodness! That’s adorable. How sweet that you felt moved by Candace’s painting. Thanks so much for writing to tell me so, Dawn.💕
I love your videos!!😁 I love the cat fabric. And I love the pink fabric!😁 I've been cleaning out old totes today of fabric and 80s crafty stuff! Now it looks like a bomb went off in my spare bedroom! But I have a lot of patterns to give to the women's shelter for those who sew. Good problem to have...all my old patterns are 24 thru 28 and I've lost a ton of weight! All new patterns for me!😄 So glad to be past all that hot flash stuff! Just hold on honey...it'll be over soon!! Finger's crossed! Have a great weekend!
What a gorgeous cat and Candice is so talented. It was so sweet of her to create a picture features two of the things you 💗! I think you should make a shirt dress with 3/4 length sleeves with black cuffs on the sleeves. At least I think there’s black in the “creepy” fabric. I’m with you. It’s not creepy and you would look great wearing it! BTW, I suggest that he cuffs should fold back on the sleeve. You might even put a black collar on the shirt dress and wear it up! Can’t wait to see what you do with the fabric. 💃
Viv, I LOVE the cat fabric. A shirt would be cute. I had a little kitten that our family heard one summer evening just crying his little heart out. Like you we did not know where he came from but he was starving. I put some tuna & milk out & it took me about a week to catch him. He wouldn't have lasted much longer. Well we named him Buddy & he is a long hair grey & today he weighs 16.5 llbs. The artwork your daughter did is WONDERFUL. Thanks for sharing. I feel for you on the menopause issue. I had to have a hysterectomy when I was in my early 40's & I had 1 hot flash after I got home & I've been very lucky. No hormone meds, no hot flashes or night sweats. Dr. said I was one of the lucky ones. I hope you get over them soon.
I love Buddy’s story, Cherry!! It feels so good to rescue a helpless animal, doesn’t it? I know it must make God smile. (does God smile?🤔) Buddy is a big boy now! How wonderful. Thank you for writing and for all your kind words, very heartwarming.💕
What a great day a new video from you and from Joy! Thank you for sharing the lovely story of how Zig came into your lives and the beautiful artwork from Candace. Zig is a handsome fellow and apparently a great sewing snoopervisor. My snoopervisor prefurs to be a whole-body pattern weight which can be a bit of a bother. And all of the cats love to test out stacks of fabric for napping suitability. Thank you for being so encouraging about sewing. Hopefully I'll be working on my topper entries this weekend...the Simplicity 8707 Mommy and Me pattern for my daughter and granddaughter. It has been years since I've sewn on lace so I'm dreading it and probably shouldn't. A few French seams and a light touch with the pressing and hopefully it will go well.
Oh Molly, this message had me smiling from ear to ear. “Snoopervisor” and “prefurs” are so cute!! And yes to them testing our fabric stacks for napping and bed material. It’s funny how one cat (Zig) can do nothing wrong, even if he’s clawing sweater knit or leaving gray fur all over white fabric - but Trix causes consternation no matter what he does. It’s because of their personalities. Zig never seems to mean harm, whereas Trix is bent on destruction! lol They keep us entertained, and some have a profound effect on our lives. God is so kind.💕Hope your lace sewing goes smoothly and doesn’t give you a moment’s trouble. I have some lace to sew, and I should do French seams like you!!
