Nice review guys ! I really like Perry Ellis Oud Black Vanilla Absolute. . . great for Autumn and Winter !! I get mostly Vanilla with a touch of Oud. I liked it so much, I had to buy a backup bottle ! Cheers !! :)
Good list, I recently picked up Mancera Aoud Vanille and it has quickly become my favorite Vanilla scent for a man. Gotta try it if you haven't yet. Perry Ellis Oud Black Vanilla Absolute is another great one that's relatively inexpensive.
I am sad to hear that receive so much hate. From your videos i know you as a calm, kind and honest man, that doesn´t want to harm anybody. Why could somebody hate you for sharing your passion for fragrance? Do this people dont have other thing to do than spread hate? No, because haters only have hate. Don´t let them harm you. Trust in your passion and go please go on with making videos on youtube. Share your passion. Thats so much better than spreading hate. Haters goanna hate, creators gonna create. With your videos you are creating a good time for your viewers. Some calm minutes in a stressfull day. Best wishes from Germany.
OGAesthetics 👌 nice.... eros is a good scent, try le male by jpg its a masculine vanilla powerhouse with good longevity, the ladies adore it. I have both but i prefer le male only because i get more compliments 👌👍👍✌
Mr. Smelly and Claire - I think you both would enjoy Lalique le Parfum (w/ the red tassel) as a vanilla dominant fragrance for both sexes. Karri Fragrance was the 1st to put me onto it, but I've seen Emitsu feature it since. Strong performing vanilla, but with some bay leaf, pepper, and patchouli to balance things out. You'll both love it. I'm never wrong....Lmao!!!
Mr smelly what's the longest lasting aqua di Parma Colonia alternative? It's one of my favorite scents but it doesn't last my work day. Maybe something else from the line that smells like the original that last longer ? Or is there something out there that smells the same but better ?
Le Couvent Des Minimes or cologne of the missions is excellent as a boozy vanilla, especially at the price. I agree with Perry Ellis Black Vanilla Oud Absolute and Manners Aoud Vanille. I have a Manger decant and a full bottle of the Perry Ellis. Both wonderful. May I also throw in Tom Ford's Noir Extreme? One of my favorite comfort scents. Great video, keep up the awesome work.
nfl1974 I'll have to revisit it. I tried it on paper and noticed how similar it was. I'll have to go bug my little fragrance barista girl at Amphora to get a sample and give it a proper wearing. Thanks!
Vanilla is a tricky note. The composition has to be spot on. Otherwise you have to auto correct by more sprays. A problem with that is too much and it becomes white noise blurring everything.
holy fucking shit you found it for me. rochas man! hahaha i bought this in france in 2005 and couldn't remember the name and never saw it in any department stores anywhere in the US. it was the most vanilla based fragrance i've ever owned and it smelled incredible. so glad to know. i remember it started with an R and the bottle shape was all. thank you!
Dan, have you ever tried Cafe Tonka by the same Laurence Dumont line? I want to get a good coffee scent, kind of like intense cafe i just really dont like rose. Thanks!
My favourite vanilla has an interesting story associated with it - Basically, the sister's boyfriend got nicked and sent to prison. She was clearing out his stuff and I adopted half a dozen bottles of his smellies. Wasn't really into me smellies at the time, so chucked them in the cupboard. About 4 year ls later, when I got into this smelly lark, I re-visited them and ended up loving my Givenchy Pi. Also a full 100ML bottle of Valentino V in there which I've never really been arsed with. Coincidentally, Pi is my scent of the day today, I applied long before this video came to my attention.
By far and away, the strongest vanilla scent I ever smelled was Raw Vanilla by Coty. It was just vanilla and seemingly lasted forever. I picked it up in the 1990's and it cost under US $10. It's been discontinued for awhile and see what it's going for now: i.imgur.com/MvfILDt.jpg Read what this excellent fragance blogger has to say about it: pourmonsieurblog.blogspot.com/2012/12/raw-vanilla.html To paraphrase: " My wife smelled it for the first time the other day, and her first reaction was, "Oh, that is a very masculine scent". That's good enough for me!" Basenotes has a load of notes associated with it but all I ever did smell was vanilla: www.basenotes.net/ID26121352.html And of course, the Fragrantica reviews: www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Coty/Raw-Vanilla-6102.html
In no particular order: Diptyque Eau Duelle EDP, Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser, EDPFM Musc Ravageur, Dries Van Noten par Frederic Malle, Byredo Gypsy Water, Armani Code Ultimate, Prada Luna Rossa Extreme, Tom Ford Noir Extreme, Montale Intense Cafe, Dior Fahrenheit Le Parfum, Cartner Barcelona El Born, Parfums de Marly Layton, Mugler A*Men, and Versace Eros for the wild youths
I just picked up Perry Ellis Oud Black Vanilla Absolute. It's has a non-gourmand vanilla bean extract with a nice rum boozy accord. They are complimented with the tobacco and oud accords in the background. Longevity is stellar for me. My girlfriends loves the smell especially when lingering in the air. Can't wait to spray this beauty when it's gets cooler here in California.
I just ordered my Perry Ellis Black Vanilla Absolute . cant wait to sniff it today. and planning to buy Velvet Vanilla soon. thanks for the review mr. smelly and Claire.
Le Couvent Des Minimes is fantastic. I get the boozy component in the dry down. It is expensive to get here ($80 for the small bottle) in Australia if you can find it.
a recommendation some subscribers we are Spanish-speaking it would be good what the names of the perfumes will leave in the written description greetings from Colombia a hug
I love the smell of vanilla but I find most vanilla based fragrances start off beautiful but then just fall apart on skin and just turn to powder. Not enough reviewers ever talk about the dry down of these fragrances. That they review. Like it's rare that they mention the dry down. And to me that is the most important.
MrSmelly u should try Sacred by Louis Cardin, a cheapy but amazing smell and projection is a beast. Longevity 10 hrs! Vanilla, Sandalwood, Dark Chocolate are the top notes. The juice is as dark as Dior Homme Parfum, have to go easy on the sprayer, this guy is on beast mode. I get the same reaction from ladies when i use this or DHP, compliment getter. Season winter, suits guys over 35 or 40 maybe. The price....£10. Yes mate £10 here in Singqpore! :D
If you wanted a cheapie, the one to get was Raw Vanilla by Coty. Too bad they discontnued it. Total vanilla that lasted for hours. I bought it for under $10 when it was first released and now: i.imgur.com/MvfILDt.jpg www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Coty/Raw-Vanilla-6102.html
If I ever would have bought cases of all the classics I wore in the 1980's and 1990's that have now been reformulated, it would have been like investing in a pension plan! Another vanilla cheapie is of course, Cuba Gold. I've said it numerous times but friends and I can can wear some expensive fragrances, but we never fail to get compliments from a $5 bottle of Cuba Gold!
Great fragrance. In this list we focused on frags where vanilla is the dominant or at least a very prominent note. So Pure Havane with the strong tobacco and patchouli notes didn't fit this list. But I agree it is great and it does have a good amount of vanilla.
