Jekyll and Hyde is truly one of my favorite scores. Always gets chills from it. So many parts where you keep the creeps and then tears (especially the big tragic deaths on stage). I was supposed to do the upcoming Lincoln Center concert in February 2021. However, it's been postponed but is expecting to be rescheduled when Live Theater returns. Hopefully it'll all work out. Always been a show that I always wanted to do.
I saw the Alley Theater version and it was magnificent. I used to have a copy of the Alley show on cassette tape (that dates me!). I wish I knew where it was. It was lifted off the sound board, and boy was it brilliant. I had Svengali too! It's good to have connections. **grin** Are you going to feature Svengali one week? I loved that show almost as much as I loved J and H! - Jen :)
Something similar to the syringe flying into the audience happened to me in live theater. I was carrying a tray of... oh, what was it? Rice crispy treats? As part of my character. And another character always was chasing me to get at whatever food I was carrying at the time. He grabbed me hard and I must have jerked the tray from the sudden grab. One of the treats went flying across the stage and landed on our director off stage. That's the version that was immortalized on the home video. A bit yummier I think than a syringe full of HJ-7. Probably wouldn't have been good if our director turned into Hyde mid-performance. LOL.
I can’t wait for November 5th! 🌲 Note on D&H, people say Frank’s music all sounds the same and if you hear his work in chronology, it does sound same and same and same again. No offense to the actors, but the music just all of it nowadays are least, sounds the same. Part of me wonders what Ethel and Carol would make of shows like these. Excellent work as always Chuck ❤️
