I thought Farhan was on the 10 year plan to work his genius. Should have been canned after last year.

They need a thumper like Barry Bonds and those are premiums, so you need hitters that hit line drives in the gap with average and pitchers that hit ground balls. You would need two or three gappers to make up for the power outage.

Farhan Zaidi never played the game of baseball at any level; how is he qualified to run any baseball operations for any MLB team? Giants should never have hired him; Larry Baer should be fired for the zaidi hiring. more than 100 games behind the Dodgers pace since 2019. Unless Johnson wanted to lose (which is possible, given his need for tax rite off's) why would any Company/ MLB Team dump a HOF 3X championship leadership group for a career loser? Make no sense unless you wanted to Lose on purpose.

From a dodgers fan. Farhan was always a fraud, even when he was here. The real genius that made him look good was Andrew Friedman. Dude cant draft for nothing, cant sign any big-time FA's, and none of the players in the clubhouse or around the league trust him or have confidence in him. Dude belongs in the analytical room.

Dude has made the giants irrelevant for years now. He has no idea what he's doing. His best hire was kapler and then fired him for a coach who couldn't put together one of the best rosters in baseball as a successful club. But kapler made the giants a 107 win team and he was the problem.

Zaidi should have been fired years ago. And no. The Giants will not make the playoffs. I believe they will have a 77-85 campaign this year. This is what I thought at the beginning of the season as well. Give the job to Dusty Baker. The Giants should get Elly de La Cruz from Cincinnati. And why is Grant McRae not playing for the Giants. Since we can't land great bats in FA we really need to trade for 1 with team control. I would overpay for isaac paredes. He's not a FA till 2028.

I would say the main problem with Zaidi is he somehow always finds a way to build backwards. He cares more about the 26th and 40th man than his top 10, he values hitting over defense so much that the Giants have been bottom 3 in defense for 2 years in a row, he values corner fielders over middle fielders despite how hard it is to get good middle fielders, he thinks starters grow on trees despite needing starters every year, he drafts pitchers when we can't buy hitters to save our life, and he values saber metrics over what the obvious eye test is saying. Zaidi is far too deep in his own world that he thinks the sky isn't blue, it's green! In short, Zaidi throws away a hundred years' worth of history and wisdom for what he thinks matters.

I would rather trade for White Sox OF Luis Roberts Jr. Having an outfield of JHL in CF, Ramos in LF and having Roberts Jr. in RF would potentially have 3 Gold Glove OF’s.

Zaidi would be the ideal assistant G.M. Or perhaps even a G.M., if he was kept on a short leash by a Director of Baseball Operations. He's pretty clever about finding the occasional diamond in the rough, or some added value around the edges of a roster. But as the executive who is supposed to be shaping the vision of your franchise? Totally unqualified. He sees nothing from the player point of view; much less the fan's point of view. Farhan's emotional IQ is nil. Zaidi treats players like tins of soup, to be rearranged on a store shelf daily. And by this token, the guy also has no clue about marketing. A baseball team is an entertainment product, after all. Giants fans are craving a bit of continuity. What fun is it rooting for a team, if you know your best players will opt-out every offseason? The dream would be someone like Buster Posey or Florence Ng taking over as the Giants head honcho, and Zaidi being demoted, but staying within the organization. Something tells me that Zaidi is a low-key egomaniac, and would never accept the demotion. In his ruthless quest for efficiency and penny pinching, he is destroying the reputation of the Giants- who not too long ago were considered a player-friendly "classy" organization. How quickly decades of good will and MLB equity can be torn down, by one out of control nerd. Zaidi the Meek was given way too much rope, and after another mediocre season of baseball, he has definitely hung himself. At this point, he's the only one left who thinks he is the most clever person in the room.

What bothers me more is that the Giants have never replaced Brian Sabean. Ever since the summer of 2016, the Giants have been relentlessly mediocre outside the 21 season (which seems like a wild outlier more than anything). They can’t sign anyone besides 2nd tier free agents, and worse yet they haven’t really developed any surefire stars in that time period.
