- You can juggle with f.lk after a neutral jumping hk. It's a little less dmg but creates a solid mixup opportunity. - After a well distanced f.lk you can combo into s.lp > s.mp... (I think that with a counter hit you get some leeway on the f.lk distance) - After the ex. tragedy assault v-trigger cancel: - On mid screen you can juggle with j.mk (this gives you time to dash under the opponent) - On the corner you can juggle with j.neutral hk, and then juggle with s.HP > fierce sonic boom (the boom will not juggle but forces the opponent to block) There's a lot of weird juggle properties with Nash going on. Who knows if it's on purpose or just temporary till the game launches.

You can combo cr.strong into cr.strong (also it can be a frame trap like ryu's, i know its bnb guide tho) st.fierce into medium tragedy assault is decent for the massive amount of meter you get from it. The EX Tragedy Assault stuff isn't too great damage wise unless you spend another bar, however the benefit is the little chunk of health you get back and the push to corner. Another decent combo off of Counter f.fierce is Sonic Boom juggle > V.Trigger > n.air roundhouse > super or EX Sonic Scythe Another nifty thing (kinda impractical) is you can get a juggle off of Sonic Boom and go into the second hit of EX Tragedy Assault for some corner carry and health Abuse the fuck outta EX Sonic Boom on block or hit. Creates nice pressure and combo extension (which you probably kno already) St.roundhouse is a good anti-air too. The man can protect the skies with the amount of options he has on people trying to jump. He was part of the air force. Where is Bazooka Knee though? That's a pretty awesome command normal and on counter hit you can confirm out of it. It's also a decent anti-air as well. All in all the other stuff in here was good. I love that st.strong has so much range. Those cr.fierce combos can make people cry. The light confirms are pretty awesome too. I should practice those. It's understandable that they took out the Heavy Sonic Scythe into EX Sonic Scythe as well as the LK > MK > LP > MP confirm, this man deals too much damage and gains advantage fast. Really scary.

+Bafael Yeah, infil uses ex sonic boom and bazooka knee a lot for pressure since ex boom is like +2 currently on block and Bazooka Knee starts up really fast and at max range is hard to punish and at max range if it gets the counter hit, you can connect your regular string. Its a really great normal. Maybe you can make a note of Bazooka knee stuff somewhere in the description about it if it's not a bother to you.

Bafael, Tragedy Assault is much more useful than what you're using in these examples. Tragedy Assault can be linked, in combo from standing fierce or back mk. This special move has a very unique property that is important to note. I'm very surprised how no one has mentioned it to my knowledge. Non-EX Tragedy Assault will steal an relative amount (proportional to the strength used) of meter from your opponents meter and add it to your own. EX Tragedy Assault will steal a small portion of your opponents current life bar (in Beta 3) and add it to your own. I'd highly suggest looking into combos with those normals because those are the ones I've found that have been able to fully combo from.

+FinchoMatic I forgot to leave a note about it in the guide, because it is an alternative ender to his combos, but I knew that going in and still made the video I made because there's a decent amount of opportunity cost with that move. Far MP combos into none of them (except EX), comboing into hard seems impossible outside crush counters, and comboing into medium seems from stand fierce cuts out a lot of damage compared to link combos. What's more, cr. HP, b+MK xx LP assault seems really picky outside of a point blank punish (couldn't get it working consistently in teleport combos). The lifebar stealing of EX TA doesn't seem really useful to me at all since all it helps you do in a game with no chip kills is avoid super chip, while the other TAs already prevent the opponent from having super.

+Bafael That might have been the most useful thing in this vid that I didn't know, but I just got the game yesterday and it took like 2hrs to do all the combos in this vid LoL. But I didn't know you could use st. MP instead of the cr.HP b.MK, to replace the b.MK portion, that was a godsend bro. Great vid

Very nice, I'll be saving this and using it for reference when SF5 drops. Now if only you could do a FANG guide. Planning on playing Birdie, FANG and probably Nash till Urien and Alex come out.

I'm not sure this will end up being relevant but you can combo into HP Tragedy Assault, does less damage but you get the meter-drain. Its something that's worth exploring though, especially against a character like Bison removing his ability to do wakeup Super, which is is only reversal, could be very important.

the timing for cr. LK, cr. LP xx EX sonic boom x2 xx f+trigger, j. HP, cr. HP, st. MP xx HK SS gives me troubles, and I don't seem to get it right reliably should I just ignore it since it's so situational (1bar/V-Trigger) and I have many other ways to spend that V-Trigger/Meter? Or is there any trick to pull it off more often? My ex fireball comes out too slow sometimes, like 1 out of 10 does not come out fast enough in training mode, but more when playing against other people!

New tech as of the newest betas; Nash can hit V Skill off of HK Scythe(1 OR 2 hits). V Meter gain and a little more damage for free. Corner only, but hey, optimization is optimization.

+WellAgedCashew Also, if you're crazy enough to anti air with HK Scythe, you can connect with an EX Scythe afterwards if you somehow manage to make it only hit once. Again SUPER situational but its there.

thanks man this really helps a lot, i'm new to street fighter, have played a decent amount of mortal kombat in the past, and Kitana was always my main on that, so I've been trying really hard to figure who my first main Street Fighter character will be when the game initially drops and I've really been bouncing back and forth between Nash, Dhalsim, FANG and Ibuki (when shes released as DLC) which would you say is best coming from a Kitana mortal kombat player with an average game time racked up and average skill set. (not against spending a lot of time just training with character)

+frenchyiscrap The most zoning oriented characters in SFV are definitely Dhalsim, Nash, Fang, and maybe Vega, so if you like defensive play you'll probably like them the best.

F+lk can be a good antiair, also you can combo ex tragedy assault from 2 lights :)

Isn't it possible to do a shortcut super when you do the horizontal "genocide cutter", since it's down back kick and the super is down back (x2) kick, i'd imagine it would work the first down back from the special move is registered so you'd only have to do down back kick again on hit for the super to activate.

+CanderousXOrdo Super is downback (x2) punch, and yes you can shortcut it since the first db input was done for M Sonic Scythe. Second db input into p can just be buffered using Sonic Scythe.

It's still possible to cancel specials off a lp mp target combo? I'm trying the after crush combo and hp xx moonsault > target works but then I can't cancel. I've tried to link st.lp in st.mp but that doesn't seem to work too.

I thought I saw someone say you can put both target combos together as a nice long hit confirm but I can only ever get 3 of the 4 to land. St.lk > st.mk then into st.lp > st.mp, I always wiff the st.mp, am I doing something wrong here? Also I thought cr.lk into the tc st.lp > st.mp worked but I also miss the st.mp part. Do you guys know if these even work, enemy specific or what's the story? Thanks

I noticed you didn't put hk sonic scythe as a possible anti-air....I have not tried nash out, only messed around in training with him, is this not a reliable anti-air in any situations? Whats the difference between HK and ex except for invincibility?

I think the speed of the startup for hk sonic scythe is much slower. Maybe that's why it's not as reliable as EX

+leeshxz I'm fairly certain you're still in range to punish after 2 mediums to hadouken, but I'm not sure what nash would punish with (maybe reversal LK sonic scythe or cr. MK?). But even if you can't punish, it's really not too bad to block your way out of something. Focus on stopping ryu from getting close enough to st. MP

Hi bafael, great vid. Ive tried nash a few times but his antiair with cr.mp gets beaten... al lot. Am I doing something wrong here or nash doesnt have a reliable anti air in the first place?

+Jpy L If you're getting counter hit, do it earlier. If it's just coming out and getting beaten, do it later. It's been really consistent for me even without perfect timing but if you want you can do st. HK or early EX sonic scythe which might be more consistent. Of course EX SS costs bar and st. HK tends to trade while cr. MP done well wins clean.

I think I did a combo like EX Moonsault Slash-> LP-> MP-> EX Sonic Scythe. it has a good amount of damage

+DuelistX21 EX moonsault can go straight to MP, which is better because less scaling, and EX sonic scythe does not add enough damage to make it worth a bar.

Hey Bafael, thanks for uploading this. Quick two questions - After LK moonsault, can you still link LP->MP target combo? also, I noticed that you can use st.MP instead of b.MK after cr.HP - is there any significant difference in damage/stun? I do find it easier to use st.MP to confirm into CA and such. Thanks!

+derukun the target combo seems to sometimes work and sometimes not work. I guess it's based on range and maybe counter hit? and st. MP does more damage than b+MK last I checked, but it is notable that b+MK combos into LP tragedy assault and st. MP doesn't (again, last I checked. I haven't looked at nash since the game came out)

I haven't really found much use for Tragedy Assault yet as a combo ender (aside from corner carry, I dont care for the small meter/HP gain). So I guess st.MP is a better option esp if I'm ending the combo with MK or HK crescent kick (or w.e that qcb K is) Thanks dude

+derukun I think TA is a huge tactical tool because it can throw your opponents strategy all over the place. He just charged a super? use heavy TA and he wont have it anymore. that will require him to come up with a diffrent solution and gice you time to beat him

What is a counter hit and shag what is the point of the counter hit optimization section? I don't know what I'm looking at, sorry new to SFV.

+Taziod Counter hit is hitting opponent's attacks in startup. Counter hits give you +2 over normal frame advantage so when you get counter hit you can react and get some slightly more optimized combos.

For some reason the Punish combo doesn't show as a 4 hit. it will 2 hit then 2 more hits on scythe kick, posted separately. does that mean the combo isn't working? i'd assume so, but if its not working then what could i be doing wrong? I know a lot of sf5 requires really good timing, but i can't seem to get it right once after 100s of tries.

+Gabriel Lanier Sounds like you're missing the cancel. It also sounds like you're not aware that you're missing the cancel. Is this the first time you're playing a street fighter game? Cancels need to be inputted immediately during the normal you're trying to cancel. You need to be inputting the sonic scythe MUCH sooner than you are. Like, instantly. Practice doing just standing MP then HK sonic scythe and try getting a 3 hit combo out of it.

Anyone has a good tip for cr. HP > st. MP . Do you guys spam the MP-key or do you time it to perfection. I cant land it everytime. :(

You have to find the timing and keep practicing it until you can land it more often than not -- at least that's how I practice, it's a good way to get a combo down in my opinion. But don't trip. You'll get it one way or another :) Do you happen to plink when you play?

+Ethernet Cable hm had to google plinking. ^^No i never use plinking but it looks like it can be useful it. thx for the advice! actually solved it by doing the cr.HP > st.MP > f+lk . you can do this in repeat to find the timing. and afterward replacing f+lk with HK.scythe thanks again

From what I remember, it practically never traded but you just had to do it a little earlier than the other anti-airs

+Kimbo Henry that almost definitely means you were just getting counter hits. I tried it a bunch of times from different heights and angles and it just doesn't shrink her hurtbox nor go up very high so it tends to trade.

+Trevon Norton its the exact same as a counter but you hit a specific button on that charter e.g Ryu heavy kick (not 100% sure)
