"Troll Toad's Mid-Life Crisis" was filmed in front of a live studio audience. Said audience consisting of two paisanos, a princess(?), and a tapeworm.

Another bit that Mario Wonder does better than Sonic Superstars is the camera. The game designates whoever got the highest score in the previous level gets the crown, which means the camera centers on them, rather than constantly changing the central character like Superstars did.

I'm glad that Uncle is a fellow BASED Daisy enjoyer tbh, I played as her the whole time too during my playthrough. But man I loved this game so much, gonna be a good playthrough!

I love how they are really feeding into the Mario brothers are using drugs when they collect their power ups. Lmao😂😂😂😂

I do like how one of the loading screen messages brings up the theory of Toads wearing hats by saying that's their head and not a hat.

The biggest weakness of Wonder is there’s not many bosses and only 1 is as interesting as the levels are, but after Sonic Superstars it’s just SO refreshing to not deal with bosses

After the very hard to watch and play experience that was Sonic Superstars multiplayer this is a nice palette cleanser for both us and SGB

Man, the novelty of having these guys back in the game is still not gone for me.

I like to think the devs themselves were trolling Matt when they decided to remove collision in multi-player.

I know hes cheese mode but yoshi is so fun to play wirh his extra options. Anyway this is a very good game (aside the bosses) and is such a nice breathe of fresh air for 2D mario Also, if i wasnt busy as hell these next two weeks, i'd keep up a daisy simping count Tbf to "why a raccoon," that was the first ever flying power (hudson smb doesn't count shhhhh) and tanooki are known for flying (by...different means granted) so i inagine the devs came up with flying and then thought of a "magical" flying animal. The way I see a Mario voice is that anyone can sound 95% Mario, but there's always that last 5% that marks the distinction between martinet and others. But Kevin does a REALLY good job I think there's very few levels that outright require you avoiding the wonder flower to get the third coin, it's moreso that it distracts from them (some even require it)

A game I simply expected to be good that turned out to be freaking amazing. This is what the New Super Mario Bros. games should've been. Really glad you're already getting to it ^^.

Mario and Luigi's new voices are really good, especially Luigi. And while nobody brings it up, Daisy also has a new voice. But you barely notice it. Speaking of, it's still really surreal seeing her playable in a mainline game. At first I had to remind myself this isn't Mario Party or something else.

Online multiplayer for this is so amazing. I’ve had plenty of experiences with random people online and some where others helped me solve a level or secret. I love this game so much, it really turned out to be more than I expected for a Mario game.

This will be chaotic and gonna be fun. My own brother and I finish the main game and we enjoy it, also we give all the character voices

Super Gaming Bros. Wonder

Once again, Mario has done something that Sonic couldn't. Alot of polished, very well crafted into it's quality and more importantly; really fun. Going from Sonic Superstar to Super Mario Bros. Wonder says alot. This is the best 2D Mario game we have in over 2 decades and one of the best Mario games out there. Definitely an fresh air take on an 2D Mario games after dealing with the blandness of the New Super Mario Bros series. Though the DS & Wii are solid since they were new to each side. So they get an pass. Still doesn't beat Wonder or other 2D Mario games. But still decent. It's 2 & Wii U that started to the series to become unoriginal, samey and bland. So glad Wonder got rid of the NSMB symdrome.

The plot kinda reminds me of super mario land 2. Bowser/wario take over a castle and by extension the land. And the hero's have to get the seal keys just to get to them. Also the talking flowers kinda creep me out

The singing Piranha Plants remind me of the singing Piranha Plants from the Japanese Super Mario RPG commercial.

To touch on a brief topic from the intro, I can think of 7 other games on my Switch that skips the User Selection prompt until you enter the game proper: Nintendo Switch Sports, Shantae: Half Genie Hero, VA-11 HALL-A (though it prompts it before you reach any menus), Deltarune Chapter 1&2, Paper Mario: The Origami King, ACA NEOGEO The King of Fighters 2002, and ACA NEOGEO Garou: Mark of the Wolves (I presume all of the Arcade Archives games also skip the prompt until later). Tangentially related, the Arcade Archives games also have an icon (using the key art for the game) on the user selection screen showing that the user has a save file, a trait that is also shared with Scribblenauts Mega Pack for some reason. Nintendo Switch Sports integrates the user selection into the game, showing the user's Sportsmate if they have a save file and saying "Begin career" above the profiles that do not have a save file.

the music blocks will actually cause the controllers to vibrate upon hitting them, minor little touch but I love that's how they incorporated HD Rumble into the game.

I really hate the practice of locking save files to users. Didn’t like it when Color Splash and Origami King did it, don’t like that the main series is doing it.

While sonic was fumbling with his multiplayer Mario was over here showing him how it's done you can see now why Mario has been dominating the videogame market while sonic has been trending behind

my expectations for this play through is that it will be better than the Super Mario World play through from 2012 (11 years ago! dam where did the time go?! 😲)

I grew up with the New Super Mario Bros series and playing Wonder really made me wish that I grew up with this instead. Kids nowadays who grow up on Wonder have it really good. Mario be tripping on those seeds for sure

Having watched both New Super Mario Bros Wii and U a week before this it is a stark contrast in both looks character and charm... and also trolling R.I.P troll toad.

After the clusterfuck that is sonic superstars, they deserve some actual good multiplayer.

I do wish there was an option to turn on collision and an easy mode option for this game. I wish there was collision option because, yeah it can be annoying, but it can also make for some funny moments/good times. easy mode option because I wanna play as yoshi during normal difficulty ;-; also wish there was a hard mode so that whenever you died, you don't get the ghost lol Also also, those plants have been joyous ever since getting into Smash Bros. Thats my headcanon as to why they have their own singing level lol

I think the reason people were way more hyped for this than another New game was because from first reveal, there was more personality on display here. The way Mario's model was animated wasn't as stoic or bland as the New games, the visuals seemed livelier in general, the Wonder flower looked like a really cool gimmick, the music was way more energized and creative. NSMBU, while a solid game, feels homogenous and bland aesthetically. Probably because functionally, it's an HD DS game. Everything that had to be bland in NSMB DS, was still bland even though they were on hardware that could do more. Mario Wonder looked like it was taking advantage of its console more, actually creating visuals that weren't just a hyper-clean rendition of a DS art style.
