I was 19 in the airing of that season. And I only JUST got the joke in a recent rewatch of the series. Either I was a complete and total spaz or I had a very sheltered upbringing and I want to be the spaz, it would make a hell of a lot more sense.

@@SingingSealRiana I love later Wesley but in the beginning, although fun to watch, he was an insufferable little man who came out of nowhere and demanded respect and them following his orders without questioning them when he had nothing to show for his demands. He was nothing more than a tool for the Counsel and he didn't even do that right, he was incompetent and arrogant. On top of that, he was a replacement of their beloved Giles who was fired for caring too much about them while the new guy doesn't care about anyone but himself and his orders. I would say their reactions were quite understandable.
Xander is such a fun character, but he also develops depth later, especially in that he sees things, like Dawn feeling left out. Not to mention saving Willow and, by doing so, the world. I do hope that Nicky Brendon finds his feet and has some more acting work coming his way.
Sadly I dont think he will. I find Xander great early on but as they expanded the cast, his impact on the show actually diminished and i actually link it up with the time he left school. All the new characters had 'powers' (well not Dawn but she was a horrible character) and the show went even more supernatural than it had been already and that didnt help Xander. Yeah I know it sounds funny saying Buffy went more Supernatural but watch it through.

One thing I thought was hilarious that everyone always leaves out is in Touched when they catch the bringer and someone suggests holding it ransom. Xander says: Yeah, I'll get the magazines and start ripping out the letters now. "Dear Mr. First, if you want your Bringer back… well, we'll be surprised because you've got like three million of them so please disregard this letter. Yours sincerely-" Kills me every time.

Fun fact, when I was in junior high, or high school, I genuinely thought Xander was saying "Vader" as in "Darth Vader" as in "I'm not praising the bad of the episode because I'm under the thrall of the dark prince. I was talking about Darth Vader." Yeah, I get the joke now, because that's how that works.
This is the character I identify with the most in this show. Excuse me while I reasses my life. (Loved it. It would be awesome if you did a Giles one, too.)
Awesome!!! I was looking forward to what Buffy hears Xander say when she can read minds, but I suppose there was way too many good Xander lines to add them all in. It was a great video though!! Loved it! Can't wait for more! Thank you!
He's the funniest character and they never took him out of the show! ( He Should of made his acting career and movies about comedy ) Him and Adam Sandler would make a GREAT! FILM!

I'm rewatching the series and I'm up to season 3 first few episodes and Xander is PATHETIC and so is Willow sometimes. Are high schoolers always like this? I don't remember being this love sick in high highschool. Xander has a crush on Buffy and there's never indication that Buffy feels the same way, move on. It's the same with Willow liking Xander. It's been 2 seasons already. I understand Buffy better now and frankly Cordelia is the only one smacking downs some real talk. The Scooby Gang only thinks about themselves and rely too much on Buffy. They needed to help themselves. I REALLY HATE XANDER and his male machismo ego.
