I love learning about your religion, traditions, cooking and I am in awe of your organisational skills and prep! I wonder how you manage it all being a working Mum also. You look amazing and polished! 😊🌻🙅♀️🙅♀️
Thank you for sharing your life, love and family with us! Chimichurri sauce: 1 c.Italian parsley, 1/2 c. Cilantro, 1/2 c. Olive oil, 1/4 c. Red wine vinegar. 3 cloves of minced garlic. Add your spice to taste, (I use about a tablespoon). Drizzle it over anything : meat, fish, toasted bread… glad I could share something with you too! ❤️
Thank you so much. I often struggle how to handle stacked Sabbath events, and idea’s for breakfast and lunch on Sabbath, not just Friday night dinner. You basically touched all these layers. I hope you will share more of your 3 or more meal plans for Sabbaths in future too 😉😊❤️
Sonya, I love your videos. I’m a frum orthodox woman and can relate to the 3 day Yom Tov of Shavuos coming up. I’m also a list maker and prepare my holiday menus and shopping lists. Yet, I’m in awe of your cooking and organizational abilities! You present in such a calm manner which makes you so wonderful to watch and the Sheitel is great. You look wonderful!
שבת שלום וחג שבועות שמח💖 We also do all meat meals as we are Sephardic, but for years after the men and older kids are coming from Shul after learning all night we have a dairy kiddush let them rest and then have the meat meal it works great
Hi Sonya, I can't express how much you inspire me. I'm watching this at 10:30 pm because it's the first chance I've had to sit down all day and I'm waiting up for my son, but after watching this I'm ready to start cooking again! We are having company this week as well and my husband has worked so hard all week doing all the cleaning. Sunday and Monday he helped with all the chopping and slicing and stuck with me until it was all done. How blessed are we to have such great husbands. I'm going to revisit my prep and see if I can work in some of your recipes. Shabbat Shalom and Happy Shavuot. PS, you look much better than I do at the end of my day! 😅
Loved this video.. I agree with making things ahead of time before Chag so much easier and makes the Chag so much more enjoyable... Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach
Ye especially when it's a 3 day Chag...now we live in Israel so it's only shabbat and then Chag..but we used to live in south Africa so I know how much prep goes into a 3 day Chag
The chimicurri seasoning can be used as a dry rub on steak, pork, chicken or fish, then roasted, baked or broiled as usual ,it can be made into marinades for meat as well by adding oil, or sour cream....buttermilk....ect, it can be added to vegetables as a dressing mixed with a little oil, or oil and mayo, or sour cream..... it is very versatile, it makes a nice salad dressing..... you can play around with it and decide your favorite ideas. Taste a little and then try it on small amounts of meat, then you will know what you like best
I love your channel. Thank you for sharing. I am a Christian but having recently reread the Bible was impressed with how God commanded us to continue celebrating these times for ever ( even if we believe Jesus was the Lamb of the world that covers our sins). So I greatly appreciate the knowledge you are imparting. Peace to you and your family❤️
Thank you for sharing your life with us. So many interesting things to see and do. The shopping haul makes my mouth water.👍🏼🌻💖 You make whatever you do look effortless. Thanks again.🥰
Sonya, I love your lists! I live alone so everything falls on me and if I didn't make a list(s) before hand I would be completely lost and I grew up this way. Even using a list I start getting ready for Shabbat on Thursday so that come Friday morning I know what I have to prepare for Friday/Saturday. Throw in a holiday and I guarantee I will forget something. However, after doing all the work myself it sure makes welcoming in Shabbat all the sweeter.
I have learned that a list is my help really lov it for food shopping saves money and gets me out the store faster and when I see how many items I have checked off it's a great feeling. Blessings
Wow 😯 so much to do. Hopefully next year you get to be a guest at someone’s house. That’s a lot of cooking. With so many people coming how nice if they can all pitch in. Great organizational skills.
thank you so much for your hunts and tips. I am Messianic and still learning about feasts and the practical things needed so I really do appreciate your channel חג סמח
Dear Sonya, I love your channel, I lived for 6 years among Bukharian in our community in Queens, I learnt so much from you, how to make even more special our Chagim. Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach. Hugs from Eretz Israel
Sharon Sonya. Thanks for sharing. In unfortunately I am just seeing this post could have used the very useful tips last week. I thought I registered Gor notifications. Ah well better late than never 😊
Like many others, I am not Jewish but truly enjoy learning your traditions, meals, organization, etc. Most of which is surrounded by family and is exactly what the world needs to return to. Thank you for teaching me so much. And, love your blouse, where did you get it?
You make cooking look so easy yet i know how much preperation goes into it..i pray God give you comfort and happines at the end every time bless you🌷🌷🌷🌷
True אשת חייל! I really enjoy to watch your channel and your voice is so soothing and pleasant it makes me guilty for screaming at my daughter😂 I’m always nicer after I listen to your channel my husband says whatever you are watching keep watching dear😂
I love love the meal prep videos!! I just watched the one where you featured a rice and chickpeas dish. I’m going to try it tonight! I love seeing how much our two people have in common. For example: I’m latina and we cook with rice and chickpeas…but I’ve never made them this way. I’m Catholic and observant, so I am so edified but how you celebrate and worship. Thanks for sharing your faith and your home. Lastly, try the chimichurri spice on a good steak as seasoning with butter. Once you taste and see if you like it, I’m sure your creativity will lead you to use it in many ways!
I cant beluve it.... I am in Israel have Shavuot until sunday night. Ang you have 1 day more😳 its realy a lot of meals🤤🤤🙃 You gave me a lot of ideas! Thank you so much🥰 חג שמח!
Your recipes all look wonderful! Have you ever considered writing a Cookbook? It would be wonderful having them all in one place. I would absolutely buy one!
I’m such a fan of your videos. Thank you for sharing. 😊 Can you please post your quiche and bruschetta recipes? Enjoy your holidays and time with family!
@@SonyasPrep I must say your meat always looks so fresh and delicious. I’m on Long Island in Suffolk county. Wondering where you shop for your meats groceries etc.
Absolute amazing, Sonya! I’m so hungry now😁. I bet you are an amazing hostess. Do you ever get frazzled, I’m sure you do, but you seem to love to cook and entertain loved ones. Have a wonderful Shabbat and holiday. Now I’m going to look up some of those recipe videos!
I often too get rattled which I think as a hostess is normal. We always want to make our guests feel comfortable and present everything in the best of light. I find that the more I Prepare and organize myself in advance the less stressed I am.
This year, I am only getting paid on Friday, so will be rushing to get groceries, come back and cook up a storm. I don't cook during Shavuot. The only thing I have made, could make, was parev choc brownies. These are done in the microwave which I keep parev.
Good yuntiv! Thanks for the inspiration (meanwhile, I'm still relieved that I live in Israel- just a 2 dayer here, not a 3 - when we have a 3 day yuntiv here people FREAK out!)
Sounds like everyone will have a holiday except you. May Hashem bless the work of your hands and give you time to grab some rest in-between it all. Chag sameach for Shavuot from South Africa
Hi Sonya, I loved your video,as usual, you are so organized, I hope you will have a beautiful ,peaceful holiday, with all your friends and loved ones! SHABAT SHALOM, and CHAG SHAVUOT SAMEACH beEZRAT HASHEM, LANU uleKOL AM ISRAEL AMEN ve AMEN!!!💖💗❤🕎✡❤💖💗🕎✡❤💖💗🕎✡❤💖💗🕎✡❤💖💗
I am not Jewish, I tell people that I belong to the Church of Lisa, because I have not found my fit as of yet. Nature is my building and I talk to Jesus and GOD while out in the trees, fields, and streams. I do enjoy learning about what others believe, feel, and do, because it gives me insight into where I might fit as I learn and I love to learn about other cultures, religions and such.
I love you ..thanks for making this video so all of us who are not as organized or don't have all there great meal plans ..this video helps so many people..keep up your amazing work..your so talented bli ayin hara
Sonya, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your taking precious time out of your busy schedule this week to share your meal planning for upcoming Shabbat and then Shavuot. Your menus and individual dishes sound delicious and so well thought out. I enjoyed seeing your grocery haul and all of the nutritious items, without a lot of costly prepackaged treats and snacks. I have a question about the greenhouse broccoli. Is "Greenhouse" a brand name or a description? I hope my local grocery store has greenhouse broccoli, because I quit eating regular broccoli after watching Sara Malka's video about 🥦 and bugs. YIKES! I would trust the greenhouse kind if you recommend it. Wishing you, your family, and your guests a wonderful weekend ahead. 🍰
Wow thanks a lot! Great tips, ur so good when it comes to organization and presentation, im hoping by watching ur video a little will rub off on me😉! Chag sameach!! ❤️👍🥳🌺
Good afternoon. From 🇫🇷. With all those guest. In your house Is someone going to help you with the cooking for all those meals. ? Your sister in law. Or your maman. ? Thank you my dear Sonya. ! You are a. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sonya I am an avid fan. However, this video let me down. I wanted to see Sonya prepping and cooking for Shavuot not her plan. There is nothing more fun than watching you chop spices and veggies and the like. Its Sonya mom of many with full time job doing it all with a smile and grace. I can watch you make Basch ten times! I don't care... and my husband was looking at your chulent with the chickpeas and wanted to know more and it wasn't explicit how you do it. Please make a video highlighting your Chulent. Love you love the family! CHAG SAMEACH!!!!
Hi there, love your channel and your videos, I learn so much... thank you!!! I have a question, I am jewish and I was always taught that we had to wait to eat meat after dairy just like waiting 6 hours to eat dairy after meat. Is this not the case? Is there exceptions? I noticed you mentioned about eating meat after the dairy dishes and I am genuinely curious. Thank you again, hope you have a good Shabbos and Chag Sameach.
P S. So sorry. Please. May I ask you. Don’t you feel sometimes to give up. And say. No more. I am exhausted. I want to live like normal peoples. Only on thanksgiving. ! Cordially yours. 👍👍
Lol I feel like I am a normal person. I don’t HAVE to do any of this. Not one single thing. I can order the entire 6 meals in and go get a mani pedi instead. I do this because I love my family. I enjoy giving them delicious home cooked meals. I love that it brings us closer together… hope this helps you to better understand the other aspects of how and why I chose to care for my family.
Hi Sonya, love your recommendations . A general question: our family is not particularly fond of lamb. For those receipts which you use lamb, what would be a good substitute? Thank you and Chag Samayach✡️✡️
I love to see your life style.i know this is not a full lifestyle but i have a one question in my mind every time you said we don't use a electricity.is this ok when it comes on a food.you had prepared for in advance but how do you manage when wheather is so hot or cold.i mean how do you survive in wheather condition without AC or heater in winter.if you don't have any problem then please answer me.
We program the heat and air conditioning to automatically turn on and off on its own. We do this before Shabbat starts and it is set on a timer. Hope this helped you understand better.
With that many people sharing meals, no way could I relax. I have family for Christmas Eve and there are only 14 and I still after all these years get stressed.
I love cooking, but I had to stop entertaining because even having the smallest gathering was very stressful for me. I came to realize that it's because I'm a perfectionist who has to have everything just so. So when I learned about "Dayenu" from Little Kosher Lunch here on RU-vid last year, I said, "That's it." I have done enough, period.
