I often come back to this video, cracking tune and great choreography and amazing crowd. That siren call around 5.12 was an invitation to go completely mad on the dance floor. It was a dance revolution the early nineties.
Loved the Rez'z never ever missed one, sure Anita used to dance with these.. Remember spendin a lot of time upstairs along the back wall "chillin" lol ;)
Imagine the nights these must of had travelling around the country and world doing raves every weekend. We paid to go to these raves ,and these were getting paid to basically do what we did, having the best time ever 👌👍❤
I was lucky enough to be part of the rave scene from 93/96 with the Scottish live PA Rythmic State. So I shared many dressing rooms with shades & N’joi Prodigy dream frequency love decade etc. with Djs like Carl Cox Grooverider Jack Frost SS Nipper Topp Buzz Colin Dale Dave Angel etc. from being a raver from March 91 paying to watch these artists to them becoming a part of there scene. Getting paid to go across the country raving and setting up the equipment and lighting etc. it was a true honour to experience it from both sides. Amazing times. Heady Days. 🕊️🙌🕊️
@gavinmillar461 . Brilliant 👌👍would of loved to have done something like that . Looking back now , how lucky were we to experience something that will never be repeated ever again. The atmosphere the clubs/raves ,the substances, all together it was unreal.👍👌

The special feeling that it was our secret & all as one together across the Uk we were all In this moment together all listening to the same music & the same chemicals that made the scene so perfect. A true moment of freedom never to be repeated. 🕊️🙌🕊️
@gavinmillar461 . Yes defo mate. The way you said our secret, that was so true it was like as if we were in a totally different world to all the rest. We used to call them straight heads back in the day in liverpool, haha 🤣 . All going to the likes of the ritzy type clubs and thinking they were ravers .🫣😫🤣
@@eddiekeato Hey bro then as you know after the state & the magnificent Quad shut down (which I was lucky enough to experience) Quadrant Park in May 91 it was truly the best atmosphere I had witnessed until I went to the first Universe Tribal Gathering in April 93 by then everything all became mainstream and to many money laundering and gangs taking over from as we mentioned that innocent secret only us Acid/house ravers knew about suddenly became huge and all nighters held weekly instead of the clubs it turned into this huge business from the big promoters such as Fantazia Amnesia Universe Pandemonium Just to name a few of the original ones and in Scotland we were lucky to have Rezerection make it there home and we had Streetrave/Eurodance and also huge historic events like Technodrome Earthquaker Holocaust Vision and even the Eclipse from Coventry and Amnesia held all nighters in Edinburgh called Highlander & Amnesia/Maelstrom. We had the best bands and all the best DJs coming up to Scotland weekly from early 91 onwards. Amazing times to be involved in the scene. Gone but never forgotten. The best times was late 90 to early 93 for me then after all the different music genres and styles had killled that all as one together dancing to the same music was the end for me. I did last till early 96 but I was working in the scene by then. After that I was going to see Oasis & still listening to Digweed and Sasha and Oakenfold hard trance style stuff but it wasn’t ever the same. For me I turned into the techno music from Colin Dale Joey Beltram Jeff Mills Derek May Dave Angel Tanith Trevor Rockcliffe Richie Hawtin Etc. Awesome stuff though. Happy days.🕊️🙌🕊️
surprised by how little of video there is of the Mayfair Rez's, they were the indoor raves of that era in the Northeast, used to see guys with huge VHS recorders over their shoulders so there must be a lot of VHS tapes of them somewhere, in boxes in someone's attic or garage,

I’m try to work out exactly which Rezerection this is. I’ll need to check my flyer archive. It’s definitely not the Mayfair in Newcastle. It’s the royal highland centre, Edinburgh. You can tell by the acoustics and size of the crowd right away.
Saw these guys in action at Raindance, Barking many moons ago :) They were fantastic back then, never forget. Bouncing around my bedroom to this wicked tune in 2018 (my fave SOR track). The build up at around 4.58 to the hands in the air and go bloody bonkers at section 5.12. I have to keep repeating it...its so BADDASS!! and now I'm absolutely knackered! Stamina has all but gone, where's my Extacy!! :D lol
Yeah good old days bk at the Rez, jeez 20 years ago.. Weres the time went.. I'm still out there partying but ofcourse times have changed to proggresive house, but the rave days started it all.. Total massive respect ..xx
Great video, looks like another mental night . Top Tune and that break at 5.14 sends everyone over the edge. Someone really need to invent that time machine so we can all go back.

Seen u lot at both Newcastle and Inglestone, Think I even seen u play the rave at Whitley bay ice rink 2 but it's all a bit of a haze, I do remember the rez in the Mayfair Newcastle had a balcony around it, if that helps, But If I fight thru the haze of my memorys, was it not till about 92-93 that the REZ shafted the toon and buggered off to Scotland........Happy-Days tho.. Well from what i can remember.. Heaven on Earth helped with our love of the dove.
Cracking vid brings the rushes right back, the more I watch it I don't think its The Mayfair, there was a balcony above the stage and the dance floor looks way too big.. :)
No it’s the Mayfair in Newcastle where the gate shopping centre is now. Rez started there in early 91 through to late 92 while they were holding the huge Rezerection in ingilston Edinburgh they still had the club night going for about a year. Every Thursday it held about 1600 people. 🕊️✌️🕊️
I used to dance for Rez amongst others back in the day I remember Dave Julian the gee man and Josie don't ever recall you there I was actually dancing the night you claimed to be on stage I was dancing for Carl cox with ginge Walton and I done the nipper set as well can't remember you at all ?
At 2.49 he says scotland yup its deefo there but who cares back then there was not english scotish black white yellow or brown we was all one , same the young uns today will never have that feeling , cracking vid m8!
Its not at the mayfair, its ingleston, im a geordie and the mayfair had a great big balcony all the way round it. Its to bigger crowd for the downstairs area inside the old mayfair.
This is not the Mayfair, I was there, and helped setup one of the bands, I don't remember shades of rhythm stage setup looking like that, I'm sure it was all black, but then again, I don't remember much these days. Lol..

This is Not Newcastle Mayfair 1991...Was Not that many people..Fire crew turned up and anyone who was Not in Building were Not getting in Due to Safety regulations..Clue outside was huge(as always) and talk about Not Happy by there kick off...I was one of the Lucky folk(Just mind..we had just entered foyer when them doors closed) Now i was gutted for them outside and inside Was so empty for a Rave BUT dance floor HAD so much more room and Tunnel S/S Crew Sure Ready,,Bounced that floor RESPECTx
This is definitely Ingleston by the size of the stage. What I cant remember is what Rez this was, I think it was the one where the flyer was in the style of the pyramids with the slogan 'Toot and Come in' - Can anyone remember :-)
and the debate continues.... scotland or newcastle ? i honestly cant remember , we played at them both and it was twenty years ago ! we need confirmation, it looks like the highland centre but i thought it was the mayfair originally til i got a few posts so i changed it? any clues? Anyways , its was a blinding night......
Stage is too high for the mayfair isnt it, or was that just me ☺. I think this could be october at RHC, I mind seeing them at the back of stage when they finsihed, when it was in front of the entrance, could be wrong though ?.
