I think they are trying to choose between Jupiters legacy and this show of which one to renew because they're big budgeted shows they can't renew both of them if they're not a huge hit . They're just trying to cut their loses.

Yeah... Have to say I enjoyed this show much more than Ginny and Georgia. Couldn't even finish the season. Pointless drama and miscommunication isn't my thing, I guess. It is strange that's shadow and bone went off the top 10 list so quickly.

@@LXXVIIZONE true... But the six of crows parts of the show aren't YA. So there sprinkles of non YA tropyness. And at the very least the author of shadow and bones is fully aware the book is a tropey af. And not that great. As it was her first book series. Self awareness is always nice to see.

The show-runners have said a spin-off is very unlikely. They’ve structured the show as a multi-narrative series, with independent stories that have nothing to do with the overarching blockbuster story of the series, and more show-only content, similarly to Game of Throne.
