I agree Sean...what a beast of a car...1000hp is ALOT for a lightweight race car...but having an Ace driver...kept it on the track. Great cockpit narration...no way i could have talked and drove too...especially at a complicated track as Road America. JIM...you are a legend and are missed.. RIP!

All of the Shadow Cars were beautifull. As brazilian motorsport fan since the early 70`s, due to the great Emerson Fittipaldi, I had the privilege to see the Shadow F1 cars in the Brazilian GP from 75 until 78, in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Great drivers: Jean Pierre Jarrier, Tom Pryce, Clay Regazzoni and Hans Stuck. Last but not least, José Carlos Pace, brazilian F1 driver who lost his life in 77, drove the 72 Shadow CanAm car in same races. Good memories, good old times. Thanks for uploading this very nice video.

Roush offers rebuilding service, and vintage builds. I doubt the original engine survived after all these years. I believe it would have had a 496 ci Chevy big block, nicknamed the moose motor.

These guys do roll with the punches. I read somewhere that when this car went upside down bigtime later that day and was sitting all deranged upside down in the middle of the track, owner Bartel said "hey look - it's still car 101" Don't knw if this is the car Craig Bennett had a terrible accident in in 2016. Either way, I expect the repair is underway already.
@historicsportscars

Structurally it wasn't that bad. Big theatrics. Roll bar took the brunt. The pro's at RM will have her back
@gcmc2gcmc279
@gcmc2gcmc279 4 года назад
@@historicsportscars Thanks for reply. Yes, I thought it wouldn't be too bad. I'm sure the car's been hurt worse than that. Of course they're too special to loose so they'd be repaired regardless. Good to know Jim Pace didn't get damaged either - he's getting to be a bit of a treasure himself ! Enjoy your videos very much.
