I grew up a mile from turn 1. Got to watch this guy race my entire life. What a talent and can’t believe he raced all these years and with that horrific crash last year...and then covid gets him. Thanks for the ride alongs and great childhood memories JP.
Mr Pace was quite a guy. Even though I only got to spend a few minutes with him and listen to him talk about his race experiences and other race cars he has driven was so amazing. He will be missed.
Heh Heh!! Big Displacement = BIG TORQUE BAND!!! He had a gift for Understatement, and a clever way. Never got to meet him but discovered his BEAUTIFULLY Produced and Edited Videos a number of years ago; no camera shake, good balance between voice and engine sound, synchronized foot-box cams........he did it right.......all while breaking down Stereotypes about Racers from the Deep South!! No NASCAR for him; Born to turn Left-and-right!! A North American Road Racing All-Time Treasure from Down South, sharing his drives in all of these Gorgeous Cars; nice reward for--tho I'm sure he Loved it, the not-always-fun job of being a Racing Instructor. Check out the vid--tho it's on a high-traffic day--of him Across the Pond at the Road America of Europe ;) it's called The Nordschleife in.........I guess a land called Germany???? I think Porsches come from Over There.
