Lets be honest though, I agree with you 100%, but I genuinely feel like shadow could outplay Lorna's new breakdown easily. I love all the attention LS are getting for TTH and rightfully so, but no one is beating shadow at practically their own game😂😂

@@tylercoggins2866 I've got no problem with any of the breakdowns on Lorna's new ep. It is straight up nasty, but my favorite song is And I Return to Nothingness which is just a symphonic, sweeping melodic masterpiece with no breakdown needed. I fucking love this type of evolution and maturity in both of those bands sounds.

At the end of the day a lot of their fans are deathcore fans, infact majority are. And just to clarify, the majority of melancholy is deathcore. All I can say is I can’t wait for another Currents album after SOI. I want whatever Chris is cooking up in that musical genius brain of his His songwriting is on another level, and the fact he can predominantly write music for 2 bands in quite different genres, it’s amazing
I’m honestly not too big into deathcore, but listening to Shadow of Intent has made me appreciate the genre a bit more (since they don’t lean TOO much into the deathcore side of metal)
I’d say this is more death metal than deathcore, if anything There’s no real breakdowns, and there’s so much melody and symphony to it This just reminds me of bands like Bodom, Amon Amarth, all those European death metal/black metal bands There isn’t much “core” to this, but fuck me it slaps hard
Last track felt more like them just going "Hey, we're back btw." This one feels a little more like the SOI we all know and love with a bit more focus on that "epic" feel they are so well known for. Fantastic track that makes me SOOO stoked for the upcoming album
@@ZuccAF tbf, I think Reclaimer will always be there best one, kind of hard to top it. Hell, one of the songs features Alex Terrible (they have his full name on the title), which means you have two of the best low deathcore vocalists on one track.
I think the 4.25/5 is spot on! Excellent track overall in terms of production, melody, the clearly hearable yet intense low growls, the not having a chugfest and creating some space, etc. I think even just having 1 additional scream sing line on the second chorus alone would of bumped this to a 4.5 lol.

As a Ukrainian this song rips me to shreds knowing our history and what the Russians did to us. Feels good knowing that my fave band can acknowledge our history of hardship and suffering.

LOVE this track. Symphonic death metal, but it's got an almost playful power metal vibe? It's heavy, but also feels really intimate and emotional? I love how unafraid they are of layering screams too, it sounds amazing. Sidebar: I love the recent power metal influences in death metal + deathcore. Everything sounds epic and majestic right now and I'm in love with that.
Yeah you can hear tons of modern death metal and deathcore bands taking influence from groups like Epica, Children of Bodom, wintersun and Dragonforce.
This is the song from Shadow of Intent that matures and grows the most from replays. Without lyrics, without lyrics again, with lyrics, with lyrics, knowing lyrics and watching the video. So much damn emotion in this one. 10/10!
These new singles have left me wanting more Idk don’t get me wrong I love Ben’s lows they’re one of if not the most brutal in the game but I like the songs with variations like The Horror Within or Underneath A Sullen Moon just my opinion
You hear the new Signs of the Swarm? David somehow managed to balance pukey fucking bowel movement vocals with clean singing. Just to follow the cleans with a murder murder breakdown. Dreaming Desolation is a fucking masterpiece.

I was listening to Lorna Shore and this song came up and i was like um excuse me? I have yet to find a bad song by them. They are one of the best bands i have ever heard. YOU need to react to reconquest or please just listen to it please or cover it i need someone to cover it so my bitch ass can learn it, that song made me want to pick up a guitar so bad.
I've listened to deathcore for soooo many years. Really most genre's of metal. It's about damn time that so many people are are finally understanding why it's so good and that it's not just noises (I've heard that to many times) smh. Also saying that, this last year and a half or so has been completely just insanely ridiculous for new deathcore songs, albums, bands and collaborations. I just keep getting blown away by all this new incredible music coming out. All this new exposure to listeners who are new to deathcore or giving it another listen, this is probably the best year to start. Everything I seem to see pop up on RU-vid is some new Reactor, reacting to one of the bunches of insane new songs, loving it and then listening to more and more. F7cking love that it's happening. Bout damn time you newbies! Lol. I guess better late than never. All yall deathcore, metal core, djent, blackened deathcore all of it. Please just keep making all these bangers and blowing us all away. 🤘
@@TobikunOuO I did say most genres of metal. Shadow is deathcore at least started off that way. I would say symphonic death. I don't really give a shit about the million genres of metal. They are so mixed together especially now. Think we can agree it's all pretty fucking rad right now.
I completely agree with the idea that they're more death metal than deathcore now but can't help but feel elitists are scared of liking a deathcore band. So that's why everyone is so happy to be like "NO NO ITS DEATH METAL, IM NOT CRINGE, ITS DEATH METAL." Shadow of Intent was cream of the crop when it came to deathcore, so it's okay guys, you can enjoy some deathcore. You won't lose whatever status you're holding onto.
