There are many areas known as "forbidden areas" or "forbidden zones", which basically means areas where you aren't really meant to go, and yet many of these areas have collision, which means you can safely land in these areas & even do a little exploring in some cases. You just have to be careful when moving around because one wrong move could send you falling through the map. :)
That would actually be a good title for a collection of videos showing just the forbidden areas that you can safely land in & explore. There are plenty of forbidden areas in this remake that you can surprisingly explore & in many cases to reach them you only need Agro, the Flash Arrow, or the Cloth Of Desperation. To reach some very high areas though you will need to use turbo & do the infamous hawk-hump.
There was always places in the game you could go that were "forbidden areas" for lack of a better term. Kegan's Rock was a very early example of that all the way back on the PS2 version of the game. But when it comes to this PS4 remake, it's really remarkable how many areas are explorable with collision even though they are technically "out of bounds" locations. For a game that's been out 18 years & a remake that's been out almost 6 years, it's amazing that new discoveries are still being made.
Don't forget the colossi can take damage from being attacked on other parts of the body where there are no weak points. But since the damage won't fully take them out, there is some truth to your theory. As for Argus, it's quite possible he doesn't actually fall off the cliff to get back into his cave, but actually climbs down to it.
Thanks. There is actually several other rocks you can land on too, but I chose these because they were the closets & also I wanted to get a shot of the cave where colossus 15 resides. It's a good feeling to know that the game is going on 17 years old now, yet there is still new things to try & discover.
@@iwasthenight_ Yes, that is the cave where colossus 15 dwells. Although technically the colossus is never seen inside the cave, it's at least implied.
The dev's at Bluepoint Games knew the Secret Seekers would be out in full force with this remake. So they added collision to many "out of bounds" locations for the most daring of players. Of course they added the 79 gold coins as sort of a gift to all who in the original game had spent so many hours searching & exploring hoping for at least one last big secret. But beyond that, this remake is loaded with new areas you can (temporarily) safely explore that weren't possible before.
Yeah I tried my best to show the cave from which he emerges. There's an invisible wall blocking the entrance to the cave so that you can't glide inside & look around. Starting at around 0:40 you can see 5 round stones inside the cave. Not sure why they are there but it is of some interest.
I can think of at least 3 things. 1--Sleeping (which he already seems to be doing even in the arena...some sentry). 2-- Finding fresh water to drink (I'm going to assume the water in the chasm is not salt water since it's being fed by a waterfall). 3--Finding food. There is most likely fish in the water even though we don't see any.
You can go under the water as long as you stay on the rock. If you go off the edge of the rock you'll fall to your death. In most "out-of-bounds" areas around the map that involve water, if you go underneath the water there's no longer any water around you. It's like being surrounded by air but you can still see the surface of the water above you. The real trick is trying to find a safe space to land. It's trial & error.
That's just a light reflection. There are a total of 77 lizards with shiny tails & none of them are in this location. The nearest one to colossus 15 would be outside of the castle & to the left of where you first enter into the castle structure (G-1 on the map). I've explored a lot of "out of bounds" terrain & never come across any lizard of any king while exploring in these so called "forbidden areas". Of course that doesn't mean there aren't any, I just have yet to see one.
Yes Argus. Since all the colossi names are fan made & not from the original creators of the game, I usually just refer to the colossi by the number in which they appear in story mode. Occasionally though I will refer to them by the (established) fan names. Just for the record I've got nothing against the made up names. They've been used for so long now that I suppose it's hard to think of the colossi by any other name.
