*Taking notes* "Midra's... flame... of frenzy" "Good at killing people... who are simultaneously... stuck in tight space... can't see you... and are fighting a boss... Make sure to engage... while you have spawn i-frames" Got it. Thank you, Riot!
I love the image that meth goat was just listening you to ramble on about invasions while you go through a flashback only you can see and meth goat is just like "wtf is this dude on"
I've heard a lot of people talking about it, it's not too hard to dodge though. It seems like its' priority is crazy high or something? Either run towards them on start up or jump towards them and they are kinda left with their pants down. It's scary but not broken. Worst thing I've seen is the back hand blade with the shredder explosion.
Biggest mistake From made this DLC was not having the equivalent to a Spear of the Church player boss fight, tbh. Miss those days of actually *being* the boss.
The virgin Rivers of Blood: - Lame edgy AoW name “Corpse Piler” - Double slash but longer - The redness and nicks are trying too hard to be “edgy” - Wielded by a murderhobo with a mask all the legends of PvP use The Chad Sword of Night: - Badass edgy AoW name “Witching Hour Slash” - Wholly new animation that looks sick as hell - It’s a katana made out of darkness, REAL edge is so back - Wielded by a goth girl who hates your guts (at first), also wearing saint_riot certified fashion
The description portion about ignoring shields is specifically for the Ash of War. It will literally just hit people through their guard, it's pretty sick.
The katana reminds me of Darkdrift so maybe they're trying to say that the sword can go through shields like Darkdrift could. It would make sense seeing as the blade looks like it's just ungulating darkness
actually the midra's flame of frenzy is pretty good for pve to proc madness on yourself and get the insane bonuses from the talisman, hand and helmet, over 6k snipes WITHOUT the frenzy seal is nuts
@@LobaGold I'd rather use flame grant me strength, howl is not worth the 30% increase damage taken only for 5% more damage dealt also flame gives you extra stamina regen (and physical and fire is all you need for this build) also howl takes a bit longer, even if it costs less fp also midra's looks fucking cool as fuck, imagine a dude just starts going insane after summoning a sun, drinks a bottle of mana and starts hitting your for 7k snipes vs seeing a dude just screaming gotta instill fear in the hearts of the bosses
@@tempoaccla4041 I like that howl costs less fp and lasts longer than fgms. Also it’s very on brand for madness builds. Ailment talisman is great for self procing madness! I hadn’t thought to use midras like that but it’s a good idea!
Nanaya's torch is easily my favorite new frenzy toy from the DLC, virtually an instant madness proc if you can get it off point blank. It's a really easy way to get the boosts from Aged One's Exultation and Madding Hand (whose bonus stays if you switch off the weapon), though you have to be very close to your opponent to actually get the buffs. Midra's Flame currently just feels like a quick way to proc madness on yourself which can be great if you like using the dumpling head. I almost feel like it's bugged, like it's supposed to build madness in proximity like the ball of Frenzied Flame in Liurnia with how quickly it builds madness on the caster, though that might just be wishful thinking lol. Other than that, as someone else said, it feels more useful as an emote than anything else.
The Sword of Night does Shield Chip, meaning like Scythes and Shotels it will do some of its damage through any shield. It has 50% Shield Chip, so shields are 50% less effective at blocking against it. This applies to both the physical damage and the magic damage, so if the shield has 100% phys absorption and 50% magic absorption, then it only blocks 50% of incoming physical damage and 25% of magic damage from the Sword of Night.
To be honest Ive been having the most fun with my little rl30 +5 weps build, sneaking around grabbing loot and trying to figure out how to kill some of these overtuned bosses. Lamenter was actually pretty difficult as I just couldnt kill the clones in time as I was so weak but I finally figured it out. Now doing Lamenter invasions in Stormvale which is pretty hilarious.
In terms of your madness buildup, the DLC has absolute winners on focus resist with Armor of Solitude set & talismans, and absolute dumpsters with the various +stat/beast helms having -focus penalty. You should probably keep this in mind as you're trying to madness your opponent or not.
If Midra's Flame of Frenzy's ''eye'' would cause passive madness build-up in the caster's vicinity, I think it would justify using it. Otherwise, Unendurable Frenzy does a very similar job and for much more damage. Midra doesn't have the discharge with slow recovery at least.
Using the madness perfume or any perfume in the offhand is extremely with large weapons to cover there weaknesses it also it's good for people who are being passive or making 3 people charging at u back off a bit with its range
this build is fire🔥, that story you told about a rolling sparks solo host sounds like something that happened to me! i killed a blue and then as i was fighting, the host one-shot me but then got killed by a co-invader! so if that’s you, GG Saint
I'd recommend Nanaya's torch aow which is better than the spell to build frenzy and burns less FP. Also the maddening hand is not bad and builds frenzy in an instant should you hit the aow. Finally but not least, the madness perfume bottle is a good madness tool that becomes broken with flaming sparks aow.
It's a damn shame: I haven't played Elden Ring in two years and just started a new build for the dlc. Boy, have I gotten bad at this game, good Lord. It will take me a while to get to Mohg with a ready-to-go build :(
@@SMohgstein that's only assuming you haven't ran out of walking mausoleums, cuz there's no more in the dlc. And word to the wise, IM ALWAYS playing dark souls PAL! Powerstancing is a conspiracy theory and all weapons deserve to be chaos infused
@@somanderthere is a way in the dlc, if you go to where you get miriams vanishing spell, there’s a little grave thing outside in the back you can duplicate a remembrance there 👍
@@somanderthere is like 3 of then in the dlc. Just they are lone grave coffin things. One is in the first finger area that the guy gives you a map for. Just keep to the right instead of going down the hill from the grace
If we're mentioning the great katana, can we talk about how absolutely criminal it is that we can't put unsheathe on it?! "Oh but it is too big how would you draw it--" IF IT CAN GO ON THE NAGAKIBA IT CAN GO ON THE GREAT KATANA. Also in a similar vein, not being able to put overhead stance on normal katanas sucks too. That would have been sick.
Always love the frenzy build, shame about Midras. Youre gonna love messmers orb. Best incant from dlc imo. Fire serpent is also awesome. Cherry on the cake is Fire knight greatsword combos into offhand attacks. Enjoy
I know why you mentioned the Fingerprint shield, and I'll be honest I did use the Carian Thrusting Shield on the final boss, but on my second character which is my Carian Knight which is gonna be similar to your redeemed Geoff build, I'm gonna fight the final boss of the DLC again without the poke shield.
I think the thrusting shields being introduced in the expansion and being that good is not a coincidence. The antspur/fingerprint shield poke stats against the last boss is funny to me for that reason. There's a weapon that's cool and new to try out and people just default to the old reliable.
@saintriot I do find the Thrusting Shield fun, but I need to fight the boss more to learn the fight better, I 100% agree with you on the bosses should've been challenging because it's what we all paid for.
also, the torch works 100x better than the incant (hardly exaggerating) and if you're the real mean type, the off hand torch ash applies main hand weapon weapon buffs(so does the throwing shield, these are bugged). do with that what you will
Saint i must admit. I felt it in my bones that Frenzy Katana would exist. But alas, it was not to be. We can only hope in the eventual Elden Ring 2 we will know its reality.
Methgoat is a Harsh Noise/Black Metal project from Los Angeles. I died laughing when you said Methgoat. I have all their demos and a couple shirts. Check em out Riot.
It's funny because I first started calling DS3 dragon form Methgoat back in 2017 and that's when the band first released a demo. I wonder if I read their name and remembered it subconsciously, or if they saw that video or if it's just the weirdest coincidence of all time
Also if you want a laugh Saint, I beat the last boss with the Carian Thrusting Shield and made a build around it, while someone I know in a Playstation group chat rage quit and uninstalled Elden Ring while they were using the lightning bottles one shot cheese build, literal definition of a skill issue.
