right? all my invasions in Rauh and some other spots in the DLC have terrible *terrible* placement for the invader, had one time i was stuck in a lower section and used a phantom finger, fell through the map and died.
Don't forget that you can delay your attacks for additional style points. The light greatswords and thrusting shields have a brand new mechanic where if you delay the inputs between attacks, you get a different kind of swing between inputs.
Source? I have tried this out and the swings are the same. I think people are just reading into the animation blending and claiming they’re “new attacks” and not just nice animation work
I love the Milady. I went into the DLC with Caestus with the intention of going in narratively unarmed until I found a new weapon to commit to. As soon as I found the Milady, I knew she was the one. It was my primary weapon for the rest of my first run. Didn't make for an easy time learning the bosses, but a lovely time indeed.
This is the astora greatsword if the devs had more time to dev back then. The DLC adding so many new types of weapons spells great things for whatever fromsoft does in the future and I can't wait.
I wish one of the attacks of wing stance was like the dash attack Radagon and Lady Maria have, where they hold their weapon out to the side like wing stance before dashing dowards you with a horizontal slice. I always thought that attack looked awesome but it's also a non-criticism because like it's just one attack and what we got is cool as well
You gotta imagine how it would've looked from those guys perspective at the end. They're hitting every buff spell known to man and there in the distance is a red just standing there edge lord posing, that's pure intimidation baby
I'm fairly certain that the DLC weapons have bugged poise damage values. It's as if they came from before patch 1.07, which might as well be the case. I expect it to be fixed soon
It flows so quickly from its first heavy into its last couple light attacks that the twinblade talisman might actually be relevant on it. Interestingly it also can flow from the first 2-3 light attacks (depends if you are 1h or 2h'ing it) into its final heavy chain attack, which I don't think any other weapons can do.
i imagine the poise damage on a lot of the dlc weapons including lgs will be changed eventually, looking at their values they seem more in line with the poise dmg values of weapons from a few patches ago
One of my mains for pve. Haven’t tried it in pvp yet. I break stance all the time with this weapon. Jump heavies into lights. Running heavies into lights. Double heavies. Also heavy into two lights. For the finished combo. I only run this thing two handed and now with the two handed sword talisman for 15% more damage. Feels about in line with a straight sword two handed for stance breaks to me.
For the stance breaks, sure. But the poise damage makes it miserable to use against certain enemies, like the fire knights who you cannot interrupt with a light greatsword and their attacks are so fast that you can't get out before they hit you and invariably stunlock you.
@@alpagator1372 I change it out for certain enemies but bosses it works great against. I didn’t learn how to use it until Rellana. On harder enemies I tend to use heavier weapons to stagger so greatsword class/great hammer class/colossal sword class. I’ll have to test it more on other enemies but bosses that don’t flinch it’s great against. It’s not really the speed that does the stance breaking I can break stance with any weapon class. It’s just building up stagger with heavier hits. Heavies uncharged and charged. Running heavies/jump heavies. I use the heavies more than the lights it seems but they do combo into light attacks if you have enough time.
from what I understand a lot of people think that the new dlc weapons were designed based on the old 1.00 version of the game before all the poise fixes so theoretically the lgs and hand to hand weapons have less poise damage on most attacks than a dagger because of that. hopefully people bring more attention to this so the new weapons can get buffed up to the level of the base game standard.
My absolute favourite PvE weapon. Really enjoyed a sword and board run with Milday as my first playthrough of the DLC. But damn, the poise damage is just hilariously bad for pvp. Someone in heavy armor can literally tank 2 R1s from a light greatsword. It's as bad as a dagger, which is just nuts.
It's funny, I just tried out Milady the other day and immediately fell in love with it's variable moveset and was going to mention on your next video to give it a try and here you are. Haven't watched the video yet, but I'm gonna guess you were a fan of the weapon. Edit: Yep, you loved it like I thought you would. Such a fun weapon to use. The ability to delay follow ups for a pretty decent amount of time has given me some great mixups as well. It works great with a Carian Knight type build. Frost has great int and dex scaling and Magic has great int scaling.
Wing Stance looks cool, but it's CLUNKY AS FUCK. Rellana's Twinswords stance has almost no animation commitment before you can transition into WA. But Wing Stance needs like a solid second in order to let you use any of the ashes. What's even worse, it doesn't let you smoothly transition into the Stance from the moves that literally end with the same animation. Maybe it's simply undercooked or something, but Milady is good with any ash other than Wing Stance right now.
I feel like it's necessary for it to be clunky since the damage is kinda ridiculous, if you could whip out wing stance as fast as a square off or stomp it'd be the best ash of war in the game by a long shot. I also think it's not a bad thing for it to be sorta clunky as it leads to new, imaginative ways for the user to try and hit them instead of the braindead "i hit L2" meta. I don't really agree with you saying it's undercooked or that the Milady is bad with it, it is an incredible ash of war for PvP and PvE. Once you get it off it's like the easiest opener to applying more pressure so most of the time I just use it as an opener because there really isn't any safe way to knock someone out of it if they're in range.
Rakshasa great katanna weed whacker ash is parryable. It's super easy once you get the timing down. The attack comes out a little slower than you think it does before factoring in latency
If you one-hand the light greatswords, I believe after the 2nd attack you can combo into the 2nd heavy attack and if you two-hand it, i believe it combos into the 2nd heavy attack after the 3rd light attack. Try it out
Sorry if this may be a spoiler to you but Saint get rabbaths cannon. It does magic damage as well as physical and when you lock onto a target the bolt heat seeks them. Its way stronger than the normal jar cannon
Howdy Saint. I’ve been really enjoying the DLC with my character Uncle Ego. From back when the whole player covenant thing was going on. Since Mohg’s died, Ego has begun to stray a bit. He still wields bloodflame spells, but he now largely incorporates poison as well. And The Poison Flower Blooms Twice has been fantastic on Occult Venemous Claws. 500ar with 150 poison buildup. 20 Str, 20 Dex, 82 Arcane at level 200.
by the way, did I see that right? did you get hit by the leda greatsword AoW and NOT lose the deflecting tear effect? here: 13:30 you got hit, your defense buff disappeared but you still had that faint silver aura that I'm pretty sure is from the deflecting hardtear.
This is the one, me and Milady have had some remarkable dances and I can’t wait to see how you both move. Also, the wing stance R2 might be the anti-air you’ve been looking for…
How would it work as an anti-air, out of interest? Seems like you either go underneath them as they're jumping, or just trade with them as they come down.
@@CosmicAeon Well, I guess as with most things in this game, it’s about timing. I haven’t done any PVP in the DLC yet but I’ve taken out NPC’s and the Ascetics in mid-air with the jumping R2. Saint could probably make it work. EDIT: I think in the video after this he says he’s interested to see if it works as an anti-air
Milady seems like it'd be really good with weapon buffs, be it a spell or just one of the greases. Also the two handed talisman, even if it doesn't boost the AoW at all, that two handed moveset is really nice
Agreed on that last part. A From game that focuses on weapon stances instead of magic oneshots would be so cool. Even though this build isn't the most OP br0ken!1! build, it looks amazing.
Have you checked out the Great Katanas yet? One of them gets more poise. It's a pure Dex weapon though. Has Claymore R2's. Incredibly fun weapon. Running attacks are pokes. Spear Talisman and the new Dash attack Talisman on that thing is the most fun I've had in ages.
I've noticed you can do a pseudo stance r1 with Milady without going into stance. seems like same attack combo if you press r2 then r1 (1handed, I forget if 2hand does it too). slightly slower, but very smooth fast combo without needing to stance. also I 'think' this weapons moveset is bugged? free camera r1's seem to lock you in place, not letting you pivot the attack direction at all which has got me missing alot with unlocked play. it seems to only be the regular 1handed r1 on light greatsword, doesn't happen with rolling/sprinting/etc r1's tho.
Been loving Milady. One handed running R2s apply so much pressure to your average furled fingers, I've been basically able to spam most people to death whenever they're seperated from the other summons Idk if it's actually hard to deal with or if people are just bad, haven't faced that myself
Dual wield light great sword is fun as hell. Its a bit lacking because they may need to fix one handed heavies on them but otherwise I think it's still quite enjoyable. Didn't know stance light comboes into itself like that! Will use it.
13:13 Saint, the beast claws AoW isnt something theyre locked into. 99% of players dont know you can cancel midway with a roll and go right back into another one or an r1 or whatever. For now, yeah, Coopers are too naive to try anything other than L2 spam. More importantly, YOU need to try them out. They are fun as shit on offhand. I made a Great Katana and beastclaws guy. Felt the most Bloodborne the game has felt for me. Switching between paired claws, to Offhand. And the L1 Offhand claw seems to have a truecombo into R1 Great Katana.
125 is and always has been since like Demon's Souls the "meta" level for people looking to duel. The way invasions work, you can invade down 10% of your level (a level 100 character can invade a level 90 character) or up 20+10% of your level (a level 100 character can invade a level 130 character). [If any of these numbers aren't exact, I apologize] People who invade go up to level 138 (or maybe its 139?) because that is highest level you can be and invade down to level 125. In my experience when you make a level 138 or 139 invader you're not invading down to 125 nearly as much as you are invading up to 150 so 138 feels like a silly spot to aim for but it doesn't really matter.
can't wait maaaaan I don't know why I haven't invaded yet. I should have done my first playthrough with my quality build, not with the cute fire dragon build that barely got anything from the dlc (dragon transformation is kewl tho). can't wait to use the deflecting tear in pvp and perfectly deflect rivers of blood, and just stand there staring at the poor host.
Just for me Miyazaki, please make Rellana's straight sword power-stance with straight swords. If it says it's a straight sword, and it swings like a straight sword, it should power-stance with straight swords. That would be so cool!
Poise damage on light greatswords is disappointing. I really wish to use Relanna's swords but attacks dont even flinch some enemies. Milday sort of mitigates this issue with two handing and wing stance.
Poise damage on the DLC weapons is bugged, all the DLC weapons are designed like they’re a few patches behind. They don’t have the higher poise damage on the first R1 like they should
