What did you use to start at DLC?
@liarwithagun
@liarwithagun День назад
Glorius Merchant is what he said he used. It gives a menu in Kale's shop that allows you to get any item, even from the dlc. He probably got the items from that mod and just rushed getting to Mogh. Takes under an hour to rush to Mogh from the start of the game using casual strats if you know what you are doing.

@@liarwithagun That's the thing, he said he didn't actually play through to get to mohg, he said he used mods for that, and that's what i was asking about.

lol after finding the shaman village, turns out hornsent's people are not very nice and can now understand why marika despised them.

What is interesting is that the pot innards enemies have runes branded on their foreheads. The one I saw specifically had a "Marika" rune on it. Also, does any of the DLC stuff help shed light on why Radagon "hated" his red hair? Besides just the vague idea of red hair being associated with the fire giants. Also, we can assume Miquella inherited having a second half (St Trina) from being born by Markia who has a second half (Radagon), but if so, how did Marika get hers? Was she born with Radagon like Miquella was with Trina, or was Radagon acquired by her later somehow? The hornsent were putting people they didn't like into pots to make a "saint" of some sort by cutting up and melding the flesh of different people. The innards enemies we see in the gaols are probably failures. Are the warrior jars we see in them successful saints? Maybe, but maybe not. They seem very mundane as a result for all the effort the hornsent are putting into making a saint, which seems to be very reverential in a religious sense, and they worship the Crucible and Divine Beast. This is very speculative and I'm not very sure of it, but I suspect Marika and Radagon are the end result of the successful creation of a 'saint'. It would explain why Marika was the only one of her village to survive, it would explain why the Two Fingers chose her of all people instead of someone from the hornsent who had real power and relations to their god at the time, it explains why she got Empyrean status when that seems to mostly be passed down in families, it would explain why Radagon hates his red hair (he got it from the melding process, maybe from a giant?) as he hates how he got it rather than the hair itself, it explains why her bloodline seems especially powerful even when compared to other peer civilizations like the Fire Giants, the Carians, the Hornsent, the Ancient Dragons, etc. I also can't think of anything that directly disproves this or implies something different that makes this a reach or like trying to cramp a oval peg in a circular hole.

I loved the DLC minus that final boss tbh and the ending.. it fell kinda flat

I wanna comment on the "difficulty" debacle, because it frustrates me to no end. I'm definitely not in the "it's too hard" camp because it's not, you have a lot of old and new tools to trivialize all of the encounters and bosses that the DLC throws at you. But I think, compared to the base game, which thrived on the variety of builds and ways you can beat it, the DLC is incredibly restrictive, it takes away a lot of your options to mitigate difficulty while ramping up the complexity of the encounters to 11 which forces you to either "GIT GUD" or to use the most broken op stuff. And the rift between good enough and "GUD" in the DLC is just so big that, for me personally, and I beat Malenia with whips without summons or statuses, it's not enjoyable to climb to that level. Also, I just disliked the last boss on the thematic level, like , this is supposed to be the last piece of content that we get for ER, probably ever, and it's the guy that we've fought before who is even not that interesting by himself. I understand how in terms of the story and lore it makes sense but still, compared to even side bosses of the DLC (Midra, Metyr, (CURSE YOU) Bayle) the last boss is so underwhelming, at least for me personally. And so one of my most favorite games of all time goes away not with a bang but with a whimper and it makes me sad. I hope now that the next FromSoft game is not going to be like ER, I'm totally ready for something new.

Your difficulty argument is what detractors have said about ever souls game in the past. You’ve just reached your personal limit. So if you thought they were wrong before… I agree about the final boss though. Still loved the dlc
@FrigidOven
@FrigidOven День назад
@@PeteS151 That rebuttal doesn't make any sense. They could make the next game so that all builds except one were nearly impossible and you could give the exact same rebuttal. It's like saying, "You thought one sugar cube was enough for your coffee and you thought two was okay too, so if you think 20 is too much, YOU'VE just reached your limit. It's not the server's fault, your coffee is too sweet." Surely there is a line where enough is enough, Miyazaki is not the lord incarnate.
@PeteS151
@PeteS151 День назад
@@FrigidOven not quite. There are plenty of people who are doing just fine with a variety of builds. It’s just you. The line exists but players are showing that it has definitely not been crossed
@FrigidOven
@FrigidOven День назад
@@PeteS151 I didn't say that the line was crossed nor did I say only one build was viable in ER, I said their next game. Your argument will always _appear_ valid no matter how difficult they make these games, even if it reaches a point of absurdity. And if players completing the game is what proves a line hasn't been crossed, then it looks like there will never be a point at which someone can say they took it too far.

Your complaints mirror what some people said about endgame Elden Ring, that it drove them into OP builds. I disagree, I thought the difficulty was great. In fact, I'd say the Rellana and Messmer fights were some of the most satisfying boss victories I've ever had in a game. I played with just the standard light great sword and a medium shield (no summons), and I'm not the greatest player either. I mean some of the bosses, like the last one, certainly pushed me to the limit, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Most of the remembrance bosses pretty much required you to learn a good amount of their moveset. I hate the empty feeling of beating a boss without putting in any effort. I do agree that the final boss was somewhat of a letdown. I did think the second phase saved it just because of how insane the fight gets (and I was excited by Miquella's appearance). It really was the closest I ever felt in a videogame to fighting an actual Demi-god. Games before have had more spectacle, but I think the fight being mechanically hard sold the feeling. Overall, I thought the DLC was top tier, so many great bosses (Midra, Messmer, Rellana, Dancing Lion). I mean all the remembrance bosses are quality, they all have cool designs and extensive movesets. The level design is great as always. I love that there were more caves and catacombs that connected somewhere, and finding how to traverse the map is a puzzle in itself. Also, the Shadow Keep and Rauh Ruins are just God tier. The art design is probably their best work since Bloodborne. My main complaint is too many reused base game overworld bosses. If they just would of made like 5 new overworld bosses instead of having to refight Tree Sentinels or Deathrite Bird, the DLC would've been almost perfect.
