15. Sword of night and flame 14. Greatsword 13. Falx 12. Nagakiba 11. Bolt of gransax 10. Backhand blade 9. Starfists 8. Mogh spear 7. Dark moon greatsword 6. Claws of night 5. Bloodfiends arm 4. Death poker 3. Wing of astel 2. Bandit curved sword / scavenger curved sword 1. Blasphemous blade
I genuinely wish they'd make a "top 10 weapons or builds for Ng+7 and beyond" video. I get that a lot of people don't really play past ng+2 or +3 but some veterans don't wanna start a whole new character from scratch to see boss bars get melted again 😂
I too used Blasphemous Blade for the DLC. Very strong. Can't imagine how strong it was before the nerf. Also, word for advice for the final boss - combining it with a shield is very strong. I wonder if Moonveil doesn't deserve a spot. Still really high damage and stance damage in very short punish windows.
I'm surprised "No hyper-armour" is something so many content-creators focus so heavily on, but nobody is considering running Bull-Goat's Talisman and 101 poise to not care.
Same.. I mained Bolt of Gransax with Milady as a backup, then maxed out poise at far as I could get it (112) and it's almost like having iron jar aromatic on all the time. 😄Cheers 🍻
As someone who mains the Dark Moon Greatsword, it pisses me off that they nerfed it. I mean, come ON, it's the reward for a long quest chain! It SHOULD be OP! And if youre using Intelligence as one of your chief stats, you SHOULD be fighting at a distance!
@@justhair17I agree, I used it and it was way too strong, had to stop using mimic tear cause both of us spamming the ash was honestly unfair to the bosses lmao. It’s still one of the strongest weapons in the game so it definitely feels worth after the whole questline.
Where's the Magma Blade? The ash of war is completely busted, the ticks from the magma count as successive attacks and can be buffed with Rotten wing and Milicents prosthesis, and the etc... Not to mention that it normally breaks the boss instance in a few casts
Yeah, I'm using them too. Best moveset in the game, huge dps & best of all, being a Fth/Dex weapon means you can use all those nice incantations or fall back on the Blasphemous Blade if things get tough without much hassle too (which I have most definitely needed to do at times lol)
for a "things you didn't know" video, Rakshaha's armor de-buff is not focused on damage. I have tested this extensively, you don't take any "extra" damage at all... the de-buff is the same as having Shabriri's Woe talisman. Enemies instantly aggro on you and no matter what happens around the enemy mobs, they will remain focused on you... exactly like if you put Shabriri's Woe talisman on your mimic tear and the boss always stays aggro on them. You can tell this effect is active because there's the same icon under the health bar. Cheers mates! 🍻
That set also has a lot lower negations for armor of that same class. So you're taking more damage because its just less protection not that it has a debuff that you take increased damage. I saw a video of someone explaining that.
The Guts Greatsword with that Giaus ash of war builds up bleed faster than anything else ive seen, using it with a str/arc build would put it near the top of the list easily.
OG astel wing user here. Ive held onto it as a main weapon since June of release year. Its so versatile and breaks pvp rhythm easily when combined with glintblade and cometshard
14:59 The fun thing about Wing of Astel is after you get the Nebula stagger, just keep casting Nebula instead of taking the critical. Boss is likely gonna die before it gets back up.
I'm been running it for quite a while. It's a really solid weapon, but it's damage/stagger potential isn't quite as high as most of the picks on this list. Still works great when infused with Flame Art whilst using the Flame Spear/Flame Skewer ash of wars though.
@@GonzoJohn733 Yeah me too. I'm thinking about switching off of it for a change, but I used it for my entire second run of the DLC in NG+. The charged AoW damage is nasty when it connects with both the sword and the projectile
No Silurias tree is crazy, legit the most underrated and not talked about weapon in game where i can easily do 6-7k dmg on dlc bosses in ng+3 shits hita like a tank and the hole dmg aint even the problem cuz it gives you more physical dmg the more you put into strenght
I'm playing through the DLC the 2nd time, and I'm loving Fire Knight Greatsword. My build in NG+ is a Faith/Quality build. With a Sacred,Fire or Flame Art, it can get some good damage, it is one of the lightest colossal swords, and the moveset is just like the Zweihander. Pretty good
Would have loved to see the Giantcrusher hammer make this list, my absolute favorite weapon in all of Elden Ring even after the DLC. But as always, great video! Cheers!
I wasn't expecting Messmer's Spear on this list, and I was right, but it's still my favorite new weapon lol Edit: Also really love Greatsword of Damnation, so gutted that it's basically worthless in PvE
currently running a cheat pure dex build with the backhand blades and claws of night. the backhand blade works very well for dodging most enemies and can closing in before they can attack but multihit attacks can hit you and if the lock on is higher than your head (dragons, deathbird) the aow will miss a lot. That's where the claws come in they have higher dps and reach but you have to remember to dodge more after using the blades for a while.
@@Keysee2007 still experimenting with it but like i said for weapons backhand and claw of night. maliketh armor for fashion souls while actually being useful (but can totally run the new rakshasa set or heavier). talisman i use prosthesis + rotten wing (since they supposedly stack) and crusade. fourth if your into jump attacks that one does boost well but i don't so i use defensive/stamina ones instead. only need two blue flasks max even if you summon.
Can anyone tell me why tf the death knight armor doesn't boost Gransax Bolt AOW? "Boosts ancient dragon incantations and ashes of war" / Gansax Bolt: Throw an ancient dragon lightning
cos it's not a 'capital dragon cult' skill - the death knight's armour specifically boosts abilities and spells related to godwyn's dragon cult, and the bolt of gransax is an ancient dragon weapon.
Wings is such a cool sword. My level is over 200 and I put all of my points into intelligence and arcane. I use the maternal staff and I rock the wings in my right hand and use the thorn spell in my left. It is such great damage and very versatile.
The Great Stars dual wielded are amazing. Heal with every hit, and do bleed build up. Put frost on those things and my god you got a boss killer in your hands.
spear of the impaler is very good lol, it has one of the highest damage ash of wars in the entire game. It can easily do more than 10k damage in the full combo, and against enemies that are weak to fire, it can do 15-20k. It's just a matter of timing it right so you don't get knocked out of it
Just a heads up on the curved sword. The Beastmans Curved Sword gets higher AR, at Lv 150, going Blood affinity while specking into Str Occ. Also, you hemerage them quicker and easier with the standing L1 (excluding the last part of the chain) along with the running L1 (which now has an armor and talisman to buff)
Wing of estel should just be call "big thing killer". It's ash of war is multihitting..and the bigger the enemy the more hits connect..it's my go too weapon for a big chungus enemy
So I’m just a regular fella. On my Str build I was running a guts greatsword. Got into the DLC, beat the first Gaol guy and I’ve been using both his armor and weapon ever since. It’s higher AR than the guts on a pure strength build, with a good ranged ash of war. Nothing fancy but it works for me, so far.
The new talisman... The Smith talisman... Specifically states that it's for thrown weapons NOT thrown attacks. So obviously the thrown Ash of war isn't going to have any buff.
Be cool if the smithscript talisman worked on the Lizard Greatsword, thing is a fun weapon to try out since it’s heavy shoots a project that I have yet to see if any talismans buffs the project’s damage.
I started the DLC using Blasphemous Blade and I finished the DLC by defeating Radahn with the Blasphemous Blade. When they nerfed the weapon, they went easy on it. It is still OP, and the DLC gave this weapon a buff with Talisman of the Dread. The best setup for anyone who wants a stress free way to play through Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree is to just use Blasphemous Blade with Mimic Tear.
Sword of night/hand of melenia should be number 2. I feel like there slept on. I mean i didnt really care for katanas at first but those two changed my life.
If you want to spice up your Dark Moon GS build, put chill on some beast claws. The light attacks with the claws let you swing your main hand really fast after. It feels really cool to dash in with the claws and swing the buffed sword, you chill stuff pretty quick. The claws aren’t incredible, but it feels and looks very nice.
Came into the DLC with the Blasphemous Blade Build. Watches all kinds of content about most other weapons and gets excited about new builds. Finds out I am using the most busted weapon afterall haha. Need a better build around it though
I love the Blasphemous Blade! Took me through the base game when I got it and has helped me kill my first mini boss (Blackgaol Knight) in the DLC last night. I occasionally switch now with the Sacred Sword for the Wave Ash but still find myself going back. The trouble is, the more videos that say how great it is the more likely From are to nerf it. Still peeved at what they did to it before as I only play PvE.
I used to main the Dark Moon Greatsword and did the dual Astel and Bandits as a spell blade. I've been playing so much now I just use either the milady/rallenas twinblade with the anvil hammer as my 2nd and am more of a int/faith battle mage. Stance breaking, guard countering and even a little parrying is the way to go in the DLC so my talismans are geared towards that and sorceries became kind of secondary. I kind of like that my new weapons aren't on this list (less chance of a nerf!)
surprised not to find Eleonora's Poleblade on the list, that thing is a bleed machine, especially since it scales with arcane and it's ability does a bunch of successive hits, making it great with multi-hit talismans.
I'm amazed Marius Execution sword isn't on the list. Even without full buffing it did insane damage against every boss. On'y Radhan gave me trouble becuase of how he moves but 2 solid charged WA's took him down and a sing here or there.
Thats what im saying. Running Godfrys icon Shard of alexandar Winged sword Melinas prostheses Magic cracked tear Thorny cracked tear Flame grant me strength Golden vow/commanders standard Will practically 1-2 shot every boss with the WA lol
I am so sick and tired of them nerfing everything that is ever good and then everyone is like O it got nerfed but it is still good no it is not it was only good pre nerf. Stop settling for second best.
I guess i like obscure weapons cause i love the greatsword of Solitude and the swift spear. Try them out, great ash on the sword and great unique moveset for the spear, slap ice spear on it and itll carry you through the whole dlc.
@@IsraTheBlack there are so many good weapons that a lot on this list are interchangeable with others not on the list. Although, as good as those weapons you mentioned are, it’s a stretch to put them in the top 15 imo
@@ChapHammersmith The weapons I mentioned are best in class for their weapon types. So much better than most he mentioned. The fact the backhand blades is so low on his list already says enough.
@@IsraTheBlack nah, Weed Cutter is not that strong of a AoW. The normal Great katana is much better since you can choose a list of AoW suitable for PvP/PvE and adjusting weapon scale
@@hoanghainguyen8347 It's not about weed cutter, the Raksasha is the only great katana that has hyper armor on all attacks regardless of its ash of war. It's not a bug because this is mentioned on its description. Weed Cutter let me solo Radahn but you need to build for it in order to spam it and it's great in pvp.
Surprised more DLC weapons didn't make it. I've used the Beast Claws and thought they were pretty strong and mobile along with innate bleed they're at least good on paper, pretty sure people are sleeping on these. Also think the Light Greatswords are pretty good, haven't used them too much but they did feel good to use.
IDK but I've been going around with Dragon-hunter's Great Katana with the Backhand Sword as backup for those fights that I need speed more than strength. No one talks about the Dragon-hunter Katana.
Its pretty much the weakest out of the 3 great katana. Normal Great katana has free AoW and scaling option, Rakshasa's Weed cutter is strong for trading hits
God Slayer greatsword is awesome as well after they fix it. Full combo on base new game dlc max scadutre seeds is about 9k damage with a few talismans and fire physic tear.
@@tracyblanchard7663 yup. Fist class speed with straight sword reach. Used poison and the poison bloom twice AoW, Bleed build and cragblade (my favorite) on them and they all slap.
I feel like RoB should be on the list. Its not even remotely as good as it was, but its still a great weapon and super easy to use due to its ash of war, which has good reach, high dmg and great bleed buildup. It defo made the DLC significantly easier for me.
You forgot malekiths Blade, this weapon has insane damage like the talent or bloodhound fang, still one of the best weapons all day with amazing ash of war
What about the Ancient Meteoric ore greatsword? That thing carried me up to Consort Radahn. Before I was maining Blasphemous blade but once i used Ancient meteoric greatsword i never looked back.
bruh why they NERF EVERyTHING, can't they let us have fun... If we wanna play with busted weapon they should let us have fun, there is enough regular weapon if we want to have a harder game. i'm still mad they nerfed the range of the rivers of blood 😆
Well i used rivers of blood complementary with my impenetrable thorns setup and it was still devastating so i dont think it made that much of a difference i didnt know it was nerfed and didnt even felt like it.
Why does no one talk about Marais executioner sword? Godfrey icon, millicent's prosthesis, rotten wing talisman, shard of Alexander, golden vow and flame Grant me strength, thorny and bloodsucking cracked tears. Literally 1 to 2 shots every boss.
Is there a reason why double gargoyles twinblade with crag blade (bleed) is not on the list? Imo the dmg/ bleed potential with that build is higher than 2 scavenger curved swords.
I dont get how people cant talk about the backhand blade the whole day while they did ignore there is a weapon called bloody helix and it does the same... Just a bit better. More dmg. More poise dmg. More i frames. More bleed staking and faster animation. Just bc its new doesnt mean its best
Finally I love this I’ve been trying to find a general top 10 video and I can’t cause it’s just a bunch of shadow of the red tree builds also not saying I don’t like the shadow of the red tree vids I absolutely love them too but this is great.
Blasphemous Blade nerf? Talisman of the Dread says hi. There are a lot of fights in the rain or in a puddle of water, it didn't felt like damage was affected in any way.
On my second playthrough og the dlc I was using Blasphemous blade and sacred relic sword, the sacred relic swords weapon art makes the dlc a joke, it oneshots most enemies and at most i need two casts, the range is so good, try it out and swap weapon when doing a boss
