Thank you to all otr truckers that are away from your famillies and making america , american. Thankyou becuase i wouldnt have the courage to leave my familly for more than 1 week. Thankyou.
@Zach Wachs I don't think it will be that quick, but you are right. Enjoy the driving while you can, we all will be among the last generations to actually drive a vehicle.
My dad use to drive southeast region for Shaffer/Sunflower. When they were driving Freightliner Century Classic before all the crazy emissions laws. Good company, just have to keep them in check from time to time.
The reason Shaffer pays more is because you run less miles due to temperature sensitive loads. So runs usually cap out about 500-600 miles per load to get live unloaded, while Crete does dry van so those loads are a lot longer, 1000+ miles.
They pay by miles to save themselves money when you pick up a load or drop a load it's still working and they don't pay you for that, but why you still gotta be on duty if it's not working but dey don't pay for on duty time only the miles to the receiver because they don't pay hub miles either. Trucking is bs 😭 I'm gonna make a RU-vid one day to protest them MFS to make people understand the value in themselves and fuck the company without us them MFS have nothing so they need to take care the drivers better. Too many people accept anything so trucking is taking an advantage of us I feel but I guess that's me. When the cars on the roads get more respect them you then you know it's something wrong, drivers get no respect. Remember without drivers the consumer gets nothing. If a trucking company says they pay you hourly, then you get there they says they pay by the load. Pipe dreams please hear me out you can do better than trucking bs. Don't listen to drivers most of them lie, the biggest company is Swift with knight and they pay you shit money if that doesn't explain everything then I don't know what does. Being a owner ops is another story, not anyone can do it because the system is corrupted. Point blank but you will find out go truck your life away without the value of self. You will be a truck for 19 years nothing to show of but bs, You will never own anything, you pay taxes on everything even your land don't have any high hopes and American to get rich just find balance and happiness. This land is stolen and why put yourself and bondage when at the end of day it's bs, don't give theses mfs your life. Live free as much as possible find a job that have balance, maybe buy a truck least you can control your time Good luck 👍
At the time this video was made Crete Shaffer had 6400 trucks and three times as many trailers! I’ve been with them for three years now and I have no complaints and well over 1500 weekly most weeks, that stay at home week isn’t worth anything but I really like working here.
Hey alex i m watch a lot of your videos is very good info. I appreciate you. And I do have a question for you as you experience what company do you recommend for me to go get my CDL with and get experience..??
I applied to Crete. Got a letter immediately saying they were not going to discuss anything w me anything further because of some agencies and their information on me (like a credit report). It says you can ask for a copy. I wrote them and asked. They haven’t replied. I’m wondering if I need to sue them because there is nothing on my record and they won’t comply with their side of the requirements.
Good video as always. I have a question, there’s a trucking school nearby that I was going to attend. They said when I’m done I will start working in state, that they have companies ready to hire. I’m 20, that’s why in state. But according to my research it’s basically impossible to get a job this young and no experience. Do you think I should wait until 21 and then try to find a company and go through their school?
Yes wait then go to an approved school that crete shaffer will accept you. Also get your permit before going to a school it helps a lot , will be cheaper tuition and you will have a leg up on rest of class that doesn't do this.
I came off the road and got in a spotter truck. I work 4 days 12 hour shifts and make 1200 a week. Home every day. Not even worth it to be on the road anymore.
@@emanuelrodriguez10 tern services out of Atlanta. We have several sites from Arkansas to Florida. They start drivers out at $17.50 in the very beginning. Honestly not a perfect company by any means and I'm not happy with everything, but I'm home every day and make good money.
I THINK I'M JUST GOING TO BUY MY OWN RIG... I JUST GOT MY CDL... I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR LIKE 4 MONTHS NOW... I NEED 8 MONTH'S TO BECOME A 1 YEAR DRIVER... THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO...
Fresh outta school you make .41 cpm for 6 mos then move to .50 cpm and refer is 3 cents more per mile. if you have 6 mos experience and get hired on it's .50 or .53 cpm
This is a good company but u need to set them in their place or they will try to take advantage of you, so be ready to fight for your miles and money, but it Is a solid company
Bro you is 💯 percent right I was talking bout this today. I quit Crete because I get upset at my asset manager, I didn't has to let her get to me, And just did me, but other than that Crete was the best company I ever been to. They want me back so I got an application send to me today, I'm thinking about going back, I'm local now.
@@CR_Grandesalchicha yeah that's what my old head said who also work there, he said if you like to sit around go there. With my experience I only get .50, so I was thinking about it for the .53 cent. So I'm contemplating on it.
@@user-jl2te1tt5z the waiting isn't that bad brother, you get detention and with reefer you get longer hauls, sometimes you pull dry freight too and your getting paid Shaffer miles.. and on top of that you get more fuel points for filling up the reefer 😂
Love the videos man just curious if you had any advice on the type of trucking you do I just recently went to a mayflower company being a driver for them
Local drivers make more money plus they have a life home every night with their families making more money as a local driver so what do you think is best
I'm currently studying for my CDL does anyone know if I can take my 2 cat's with me ? I've only found one company so far that will let me have both of them with me after training. I appreciate the help in advance
with Shaffer if you have 11 months and 29 days Truck driving experience they will require you to ride with a trainer for 6 weeks before they'll give you your own truck. that shit makes no sense at all. they demand you must have a full year experience before they'll let you come on board without having to go out with a trainer. I can be trusted to haul hazardous waste in a tanker but I can't be trusted to drive Shaffer reefer by myself LOL
Yo my man, I am working for GP Transco, so please let me know if you wanna know about my company! “GP Transco Becomes 3rd Highest-Paying Trucking Company in the US”
Trucking better pay more than 800 a week. I get that working on the back of a garbage truck throwing away trash. Working outside in all kind of weather with all kinds of trash.
I like what you doing with the new segment but you gotta ask tougher questions. If he says he's seen people take home 1500 then ask if that was with a trainer or solo.
🤔🤔🤔 facts. I kind of play it by ear too. Guy was cool, but wasn't crazy open. I'll try and get as many interviews as I can from as many drivers. And we can cross reference what they say
This guy is wrong. You have to go to specific approved cdl school to work at crete / schafer if you have no experience and they pay $700 per week while training for 8 weeks. After that first 6 months driving they pay about .41 to .43 cents per practical mile then you go to whatever the normal rate is about .51 to .53 cents. BTW that guy is cruel with that choke chain he puts on his dog. Not good, he should wear that and see how it feels.
Hey Mai I wanted to ask what would you do if u win the lottery I’m just curious sorry this has nothing to do with video I love what you do for our community bro. Motheflowers
What is really the take home pay for a starter truck driver? Less taxes and health insurance, how much $ you will pocketed? I’m debating becoming a trucker but I have speeding and accident in the past five years. I don’t know how many points I have on my record.
Thanks for the reply. One more question: if you happen to know a good company that does offer free training and help you get your CDL? I’ll rather choose to go this route to get my CDL than pay myself a truck driver training school. I’m cool committing driving for this specific company that help me get my CDL for a year or two before I’ll go out looking for better pay.
Those drivers with no experience they have to get their CDL from approved schools by Crete... so those drivers at Swift or CR England Etc they need to stick with it to get 6 months experience because creat is not going to hire them.
One question to start asking is if they are including per diem in base pay or has per diem gone away across the board all the way around? This is still a bit confusing. Like what happened to all the drivers that were unaware the companies were supplimenting their base pay rate with what they were already owed by the federal tax system. Did they simply lose half their pay or did the companies have to bite the bullet and bring their wages up to minimum wage? The problem in the trucking industry is drivers agreeing to contracts without understanding exactly what is going on. I was pulled out of an orientation for asking if I could opt out of per diem based pay and had to meet with the terminal chief opperations manager who after a lengthy bargaining discussion gave me better pay and I got to file my own per diem at the end of the year. Much more money in my pocket. They just did not want it discussed in front of the other drivers. Drivers need to stand up to them right off the bat or they will never have respect for you if you don't know anything about your own money.
$0.50 per mile and you have to be out 12 to 21 days and you're only making $1,500 a week bring home if that WOW these over the road trucking companies are still getting over some truck drivers who just don't know better wow that is so sad the sin of it is the trucking companies CEOs know this and they take advantage of these drivers for all you drivers out there not aware why would you drive 50 cents per mile out 12 days to 20 plus days and you're only making $1,500 a week when you could be running local getting paid by the hour be at home with your wife and kids making the same amount of money or even more just by being a local driver it just don't make any sense
Hey Asian Mai do you ever wish you were just a regular company driver pulling a dry box or refer unit? Is the pay really that much more? I was looking through your videos but can't find the bottom line as to what you earn oppose to a 1k a week average truck driver. You must net at Least 2k a week for yourself to stay where your at. I personally make 1k a week and to scared to make that next jump. I see all these guys out here falling down and going right back to company driving. ☮️
jay rider he generally nets more than 2K more like 4K+ he had a video where he gives the info on his job while there. He addresses with one of the bosses how much people like us can make starting out which is the range you said. People been doing it awhile even more. He tackles all of that.
Yah and they shame you for taking your earned hometime. Drivers LIE and you are known by youor truck number. They do not ask your name and even if you tell them your name, you're still a truck number. There are so many things Crete/Shaffer do Not pay you for... it's ridiculous! Only money you can make is when the wheels are turning. Also, they say they pay by practical miles... not so! A lot of it is HHG miles. No kidding. Gotta do your research and Not trust the word of a driver, including me.
I like what you doing but trucking is corrupted. They Pay shit for the risk you taking being on the road, risking your life everyday, but most companies do whatever to save themselves money. I'm getting out I don't suggest anyone to make it a career only a stepping stone. Be smart go to school for something that's in need for the people. Too much bs and trucking it's a reason you get paid cent instead of hourly no overtime. So basically you losing money on a long day. If you understand, it's a great stepping stone but they will take an advantage of you. They get rich you get shit.
Driver trust me safer is getting over you 50 Cent a mile out 12 to 20 days at a time and you're only making $1,500 you're better off running local make more money home every night I know of shaffer's Trucking out of New Kingston Pennsylvania they merge with CCC a few years back this is not a good company they are just like JB Hunt and Swift and England they all get over drivers sell them a dream lie to them especially rookies drivers who don't know better you owe it to yourself
That's not no money. I am a owner opt. You don't want to know what I make. Your company drivers make peanuts. Smh. I will never be a company driver, your are suckers.
7 minutes of lies lol jk who am I to judge or know if it's true Good ole Shaffer/Crete trucks I see them alot here in Texas Remember seeing one jackknifed somewhere around the dallas area one icy morning last winter 😯
